My initial piercing visit under a week ago was typical, the place was fairly clean although I…read moredidn't get the "sterile" vibe I would have liked. I chose a small gem for my upper chest/neck microdermal (which I later learned from another piercing artist at another shop was too small and I should never have been allowed to have such a small gem let alone be pierced along the line of my neck). Six days later I noticed my skin swallowing up my gem so I went back to the shop and the artist that pierced me was not there so another gentleman assisted me and told me he could not remove the gem and replace it with something larger, so I suggested a healing pin (which he said he had never heard of) and showed him what Google had to offer. The only thing he said he could do was pull up on the jewel so maybe that would allow more room for the gem to lay flush against my skin. I laid in the chair and he proceeded to just grab any random pair of forceps and neglected to clean the area before pulling away at my microdermal! I was handed a mirror to look at the site and then that was it, he didn't even clean the site even though there was some fluid draining from the piercing. I was in total shock of such behavior that I left the shop and immediately cleaned my piercing site myself with antibacterial spray I had purchased earlier from the pharmacy. I'm relieved I've had my tetanus and hepatitis vaccines. I wanted something done to actually help my microdermal from being swallowed up by my skin so I walked into another piercing shop and sought advice. The gentleman at the other shop had told me I should have never have been pierced that high on my chest/neck and never with such a small gem. He offered me to come back after the weekend and if the swelling was down he would change the gem with a larger size. I would not go back to Mystical Bodies due to the lack of professional and sterile care I was given. I felt like they just took my money and didn't care to provide helpful advice or any aftercare. The gentleman actually thanked me as I walked out for the information I gave him (my Google search to show him healing pins existed).
