I've been traveling throughout Texas the past month and I have to say this diner has by far the best food. It's a true diner and the food is incredible. I don't know why the average review is so low. I think it's because most of the reviews are by people who stayed at the hotel attached and they're reviewing the hotel. That's not fair because the food, service, and ambiance at Roxie's is all top notch!

Friendly, fast, attentive service at the counter made it easy to order a very rare piece of chocolate pie for breakfast dessert. Unhappily, not the best sausage gravy. Busting up a sausage patty and throwing the pieces into a rather thin gravy subtracted a star. Biscuits were average.

Busy Sunday morning rush! Must be good!

Simply the best run old school diner in town bar none. Great food and people every time. A must stop spot for great food and service in San Angelo. Gets busy fast for weekend breakfast mind you. Come early to beat the rush.

Chipped plate

Well where to start. I ordered my food and it came out writhing 3 minutes. The plate my food was on is chipped. Bacon was good but the sausage patties was a jimmy dean microwaveable. Hash browns were stale, not even crispy or soggy, just stale. Biscuits and gravy were ok. I would not recommend.

Great little hometown diner. Typical menu selection with hometown service. Every body knows every body sort of hole in the wall.

Best breakfast in San Angelo!! You know it's good when there's a ton of oil field trucks in the parking lot.

Stopped here on my way across Texas. First, let me just say how nice it is to have a non-fast food…read moreplace to stop rest and get some food. cons: Month immediately, the first person you meet is the person who takes your order and she was sour as a lemon. Absolutely no customer service, no greeting, no smile. We all have bad days but you could tell this was just who she is... Maybe make her in charge of cleaning things and not dealing with the customers? (the same person could care less when the couple next to me received their order backwards. The woman couldn't eat spicy foods and her burger was covered with spicy items. She took it up to the woman taking orders and the woman refused to do anything. Wow.) The restrooms, wood sides along booths, pickle table and the condiments/tables need a serious cleaning - there is grossness abounding. I didn't see one person busing or cleaning in the restaurant - and it shows! Gross. The fries could've been great if they were crispy but they were all super soggy. FRY FAIL! Onions: you can leave them thick for the onion rings but if you're putting a slice of onion on my burger you better slice it thin. Nobody needs a huge half inch thick slice of onion in the middle of a burger. PRO: The burger was cooked to perfection. At least they got that right, which is why I gave them three stars - nothing else I experienced in this restaurant deserved any stars. The owner/manager are lazy at best cause they obviously don't care about the customer experience.
