I love the Red Barn! My favorite is the ice cream. The only thing I didn't care for is the way you order the ice cream. It was confusing and unorganized. Many people milling around, not knowing where to order, or pick up the ice cream order. We also bought fudge which was handled the opposite way of the ice cream. Worth a stop if in the area. This little roadside farm and market has a huge selection of local made food items. They have a big ice cream counter too. Food stuffs in market range from seasonal produce (apples are in season now), jarred jams and salsas, cheeses, specialty sodas, local beef products, grains, breads, baking mixes, syrups, and on and on. And they have the BEST apple juice I've ever tasted!! They also have a great selection of toys and gifts. Love this farm, there's so much to do and my daughter had a blast. The reason I docked a star is my daughter is three and the same price as an adult but was not able to do some of the thinks (zip line, slide, some of the jump things) herself and unfortunately I broke my arm so I wasn't able to help her. I am one of Rowley's biggest fans! I LOVE Rowley's Red Barn! From northern Utah County, it's worth the 40 minute drive! The apple cider donuts are a MUST! And try to get them warm (game changer!) Also, the apple cider slush! And with ice cream! I always get vanilla but I know people that have gotten caramel too. I would seriously drive down everyday if my husband would let me. Why oh why oh why oh why??? Why have I never stopped here before?? Up and down I-15 so many times, and I should have paid attention to the signs. Fresh apples? That alone would draw me off of the interstate to check out the market inside the barn packed full of fresh produce. Little did I know that it's also an ice cream parlor, cider house, and ... wait for it... a pie place! Yes, this magical barn is now on my must stop list. Its location along the very tail end of civilization in the Utah County area means I won't be able to stop by often, but as often as I can, I'll be popping in for more treats. Among the winner of the treats is the cider slush. It is what it sounds like. Upon recommendation I got the slush with a scoop of ice cream. Cold shivers of joy, that thing haunts my dreams with sweet slushy perfection. I would have stuck around and probably eaten a dozen of them or so (and for a couple of bucks, you can afford it) but they were closing and the poor young gals at the counter gave me the "please let us go home" look. Next time, I'm taking a few more tastes of the goodies in the case. I will also be picking up a take and bake pie. Genius. I can't vouch for the taste, but I have high hopes. Though I'm not an enormous fan of apple pie, they do have other flavors that merit trying. And I'll duck into the refrigerated produce section. So many bright, gleaming apples that beg to be bitten into. Take the exit south of the barn and give it a go. It's so surprising but so completely pleasant. Had an opening in my Tuesday work schedule and decided to stop by Rowley's. Back where I used to live in the Midwest, we would get apple cider doughnuts every fall and I was craving some really bad. We got there at around 11 AM, but there was no doughnuts baked and ready yet... sad. A worker informed me that they had spent the morning baking pies and it would be an hour or two before the doughnuts are ready. I got to walk around their gift shop and cooler, seeing all they had to offer. I grabbed a half gallon of apple cider and made the decision to come back at around 1 PM for the doughnuts. I came back and they had a bunch of fresh doughnuts packed in plastic containers near the front, score! As I was waiting in line to check out, I decided I wanted to try the apple cider slush. I ordered it "a la mode" and was expecting just vanilla soft serve, but the employee asked if I wanted vanilla, caramel, or a twist. I ordered the twist because I love all things caramel. The slush was INCREDIBLE. One of the most refreshing, filling beverages I've had in a long time! I ordered the small and it was the perfect size for one person. I made my first road trip from Vegas to Salt Lake City this week and was surprised how many farms ran along I-15 between the two cities.  Some of them are open to the public, so we had to stop and check one out. Rowley's is a 4th generation farm about 20 miles South of Provo, UT.  The giant Red Barn enticed us to pull off the highway.  When we arrived, the parking lot was packed and there was a field trip of elementary school kids out in the fields on a giant wagon pulled by a tractor.  They looked like they were having a lot of fun! We went into the Red Barn and were surprised how large it was and how diverse their offerings were.  Everything from meat to ice cream, fruit to fudge!  Speaking of ice cream, there's a free cone with your Yelp check-in.  We're trying to be good so we didn't have any, but every other person in the place seemed to be enjoying theirs.  We picked up some corn on the cob (5/5), 4 varieties of apples (only tried the Honeycrisp so far- 5/5), some nectarines, peaches, Valencia oranges (5/5), peanut and almond butters (5/5), rolled butter, & cheese (not local, but I didn't notice until I got home).  Also, the apple cider is to die for.  Holy cow!  The local jams and sweet treats all looked delicious, but I didn't pick any up.  Overall the prices were very reasonable, the selection vast, and the quality exceptional.  If I ever drive this way again, I'll definitely be back.  I really wish that I lived closer to stop by for the berry, asparagus, cherry, and grape seasons! read more

We loved trying all the treats Rowley's has to offer. We got a tour of the barn area and were impressed with the family atmosphere at the farm. We love that they make almost everything on site and grow or locally source ingredients! We'll definitely be visiting again. Details of some of the things we ate: - Creamy creamy ice cream and delicious waffle cones. I loved the butter pecan and caramel cashew best. Brooke loved her cookie dough. Connor of course loved the chocolate. - Apple slushie a la mode was delicious! Tart apple flavor complemented with soft serve ice cream. - Donuts. Total incompetence from the employees. Not enough workers. I'm sure the majority of the time they hire from within the family bloodline, and/or they are all young and have no clue what they are doing. I bought $70 of groceries and the girl asked me if I wanted a bag? Just tons of random stuff. I couldn't have possibly carried out.... no worries I'll get past that,... I then tell the girl I want a medium tub of ice cream, she doesn't charge me for it, then I go over to get some ice cream, and then have to wait in line again... deer in headlights anytime you're asking questions about anything. We've come here for the past two Halloweens. This place is CHARMING. The small town feel of Santaquin, coupled with the Rowley's beautiful farmland and country store is what autumn dreams are made of. The pumpkin patch always has a large selection of beautiful pumpkins. There's lots more to do as well-- apple cannon, tractor tricycles, straw pyramid, funny sack slides, corn mazes. We stay entertained for a few hours. The staff is extremely helpful. The country store, back at the red barn, is reason alone to visit Rowley's. They have a huge selection of treats, baked goods, preserves, syrups, local meats and cheeses-- we were so impressed. They also have an APPLE CIDER FLOAT, as in home pressed apple cider topped with vanilla ice cream! This will be a continued tradition. read more

So, we're out exploring for the afternoon in South-ish Utah County. We pass the Red Barn on the freeway going south, as you do, and this time we decide to stop. We park directly in front, in full view of everyone emerging from this place on a busy Saturday afternoon. Just the sight of the treats being carted out gave me a new cavity. I told Hubby that perhaps we had made a mistake and shouldn't go in after all. I didn't even finish the sentence before he was out, door closed, looking at me like, "C'mon." So, naturally I did. This place is many things - cute and sweet (for SURE), utilitarian, great for gift ideas, and somewhere you can spend oodles of time just browsing at the unique inventory. Walking in you're hit with the smell of the ice cream. My hips don't lie, kids, this is some home-made, small-town stuff. And they don't skimp on serving sizes, either. Their hook at RRB is apples - year round. But during apple season - fall and winter - look out. Apples aplenty, and freshly made and mulled cider is only the beginning. Apple cookies and cakes and pies, oh MY! They even have a specialty at the ice cream counter called "Apple Cider Slush a la Mode." Just take a minute and breathe in the full picture of that reality... RBB has stock of old-timey candy, including freshly made fudge at the counter, bottled salsas, jams and other condiments, a room of fresh fruits and veggies in season, another room for obtaining your food storage supplies and some equipment, a large freezer sporting fresh local Ridgeline meat that is primarly really good looking beef, frozen pies to take home and bake, and yet more spaces devoted to toys and gifts ( a la Cracker Barrel). It's a larger place than it looks from the outside - plan to spend a while. We didn't have a while, so we hurried through must quicker than I wanted to, and now look forward to going back. The treats we carried out with us were a fresh peach shake and a cup of their hand-scooped Banana Split ice cream. Both were divine. The staff here were every bit as friendly and small-town as you would hope for a place like this. We experienced smiling happy people behind the counters. I can't tell you how many times I have driven south on I-15 and noticed the Red Barn sign and thought, "I'd be fun to stop there someday". Well, thanks to my sister and brother-in-law, SOMEDAY has arrived. We pulled off the freeway and followed the signs around to the big beautiful Red Barn store. I really had no idea what to expect, but knew the sign advetised ice cream, so that was on my list. Walking in, you really are in a barn, albeit, cutely decorated and very clean. The big open space is divided up with cute country cupboards, chairs and tables and in the middle, the ice cream and goodies counter. Signs advertised free classes on canning, pickling, and various other kitchen arts, making me wish I lived nearby. Drawn to the counter and peering at the many varities of hard ice cream, we learned that it's all handmade there. And there was a display of goodies: fudge, chocolates and some baked stuff that all looked handmade as well. Because it's linked to an apple orchard, we all felt the need to try the cider slushy , but ordered it a la mode, meaning, they also dump in a large scoop of the ice cream of your choice. The cider itself was delightful. The amazing flavor brought flashfowards to Fall, and I do want to come back for it then, but the icey slushiness made it a perfect summer-time treat. My sister added cinnamon ice cream, her hubby cherry vanilla, and I opted for the carmel cashew. Each one was amazing in it's own right, but the carmel apple combo made me the winner in my book. I was giddy to find a case full of take 'em and bake 'em homemade pies. Unfortunately we were headed away from home or I would have nabbed one for the hubby, who is always on a quest for good pie. The side room full of canning supplies and food storage stuff, all arranged in a cute country farm way, made me smile, and THEN I noticed the cold room full of fresh fruit and the smile became a full blown grin. I definitely will be back. Hey, maybe it'll even become a tradition for those trips down the state. You throw a sign on the side of the road that says something along the lines of "produce. Farm. Upick" , etc. and there's probably a 99.9% chance I'll pull over. This holds true for my visit to Red Barn en route to Zion. Unfortunately, the visit fell a bit flat. I was hoping to see more Utah flare and less packaged mass produced goodies. I'm still trying to figure out why the produce room had to be kept so frigidly cold. We hustled through to stay warm despite my lingering eye on those cherries. Maybe it was the quiet/non-peak time of our visit that made it seem so awkward? What you'll find: mixes, ice creams, fudge, cookies, fruit, cheese, dried produce in bulk, jams, sea salts and so on. In the end, I opted for a jar of Utah sea salt. When in Rome, right? read more

We have lived in Utah for 7 months now and out of all the new places we have tried the red barn is our favorite. Me and my husband are obsessed with the apple cider slush! We get one atleast twice a week. My kids love the the Ice cream. We have also tried the donuts, fudge, milkshakes, and Carmel apples and we have been pleased with every one ! We had been to the St George location a few times (pretty much every night we stay in St. George) and love the ice cream! We decided to try the original one in Santaquin today and it was just as amazing! This is a great place to stop in for some great quality ice cream, and all for an amazing price. I've tried maybe 10 flavors and haven't been disappointed in any of them...pomegranate, almond joy, and lemon custard have been some of my favorites.
