We hired Vertigans Builds NE to paint our house and fix wood trim. After requesting up front…read morepayment of 50% of the project cost, and working part of a day, he vanished for over a week, saying we were still on target to finish before the cold weather. Weeks later the painting and repair was not done, he had resorted to requesting early payment, would show up to work only part of a day and then vanish if paid a portion of the money. Said he would hire a subcontractor to help with the work, but in the end seemed to possibly have used his girlfriend on a single day. The quality of the paint work (though unfinished) was extremely poor, with overspray everywhere that never got cleaned. When we complained about the overspray of the latex paint, he claimed he would clean it up with paint thinner (impossible) but then never did.
