The MCK/ICC is active in research, education, publishing, and exhibitions related to international cultural dialogue focusing on Central Europe. The exhibit I saw, A Lithuanian Tale, featured Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875-1911). It was just was awesome - well curated an included drawings, poems, prints, photography, sheet music and beyond from a multi-talented artist with strong connections to Polish art circles of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The building interior and gallery space is light, open, and modern - it's a wonderful and easy to tackle addition to whatever museums are on the list to view in Old Town.

We wee coming from lunch (and I will post those picture because the place is just across the street) and saw the JCC. We had to knock on the locked gate and wait a minute to be admitted. It's understandable given security concerns around the world. So finally a gentleman came by, let us in and we went inside. We sat down for a while and had a discussion the the JCC mission in Krakow and discussed their food bank for many Ukrainian Refugees in the area. They are a thriving JCC and work like the many others both here in the US and abroad. They were preparing shabbat dinner for 65 people inside and another two dozen in the Sukkah outdoors. They are here to do good and we were all comfortable speaking about world affairs and their role here in Krakow. We said our goodbyes and I bought my shirt. I don't know what is upstairs in the building as their was some renovation work going on when I visited. Downstairs, however, is very nice indeed. There is a restaurant (I have yet to sample the food). A room ideal for giving presentations (or poetry readings even) with seating for 40 or so people. Adjacent to that is a nice little room ideal for serving a few drinks or canapes.
