It's a great place to go for a walk if you want to feel like you're really out in nature without having to leave the city. Beautiful all year round and I hardly ever run into lots of people out here. There's two entrances to the preserve, one at the Sam's Club on highway 112 if you park on the southern edge of the parking lot and the other's along Deane Solomon Rd, there's a few parking spots along N Floral Court and then you'll walk a very short distance north along Deane Solomon and you'll see the entrance. There are bike racks at either entrance to the park because there's no bikes or dogs allowed in the preserve due to the sensitivity of the trails since it's a wet prairie and the goal of the preserve is to maintain the ecosystem in the best possible condition for wildlife and native flora.

On a Monday evening in late Spring, the square was super busy. Pretty much every parking space taken, lots of people sitting in the square, kids running about and while the Walmart Museum is being renovated, the Spark Cafe has shifted to a food truck selling snacks and ice cream. This is by far the best climbing gym I have ever climbed at. Some of the best people I have ever…read moremet. The staff is awesome, very friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable. You can always find a great conversation or a random story. This gym has been open for a long time and they know how to do things right. They have really awesome climbing competitions twice a year and anyone can climb in them no matter their style or skill level. If you want to go climbing at a good gym, I would recommend Ozark.
