Went through Willmar around dinner time and chose Rositas for some fresh Mexican food. It was fresh and well presented. Service was good. Salsa and chips were tasty. Didn't have guacamole . I recommend for you to skip this place. Mediocre Mexican food at best. Pictures looks authentic, but the flavor and quality is poor. Stopped in for an early dinner and ordered a steak burrito, 3 steak tacos, chicken quesadilla And chicken fajitas. The steak tacos and burrito were OK, but the chicken fajitas were barely warm the cast iron plate it was served on was cold...unbelievable! It seems as if it might have been warmed up in the microwave because the chicken was rubbery, not tender at all! The chicken quesadilla was ordered and we asked if there was onions on it. They said no, so we didn't have to worry, well guess what it came with onions...yuck! Chips were awful too! I had high hopes for this place, but it disappointed my family and I. I'm from the cities but was at Rice Hospital. Walking down the street there were two Mexican restaurants. This one seemed older looking, with a "hole in the wall" look. I gravitate towards places like this hoping for authentic ethnic cuisine and I was not let down. The place is small... The main entrance is where u order at the register, and has a few booth tables and another little area that had more tables. You order off the menu and pay up front. I took my order to go, but next time I may consider eating in. They also have complimentary chips and salsa with various other hot sauces out on a cart to try. Yum! I ordered the special and got three steak tacos. They were awesome once they were made. (I saved one for leftover a few hours after and not so great then). The tacos come with choice of meat, cheese, lettuce and one slice of tomato wrapped in two small corn tortillas. I also added guacamole salsa on top from the condiments section. My tacos had good flavors. The only thing i would complain is some bites of my steak was tough, probably due to some pieces having fat, tendon, or cartilage left on it. Still good but chewy. I'm also glad my tortillas did not break apart while eating! There were five other people in the restaurant already eating, and once I ordered my food came out shortly after. The cashier was very friendly and tried to explain some of the items on the menu. The restaurant is easy to spot if you are walking, but hard to spot when driving down the street. The sign doesn't light up, nor is it big, so you just have to be looking for it. Parallel street parking. I've heard from people at the hospital that the burritos are huge! The food was pretty good and the staff was fabulous. We ordered from them while hanging out at the Foxhole across the street. The gal working was wonderful. She handled our large order (8 people) well, and even delivered it to us! I was craving something vegetarian that day, so she was kind enough to make up a vegetarian fajita for me. As far as service goes, I would give them 5 stars. The food was pretty good. I was pleased with what they whipped up for me, and my friends were happy with their tacos, burritos, etc. It wasn't the best food I've ever had, but it did the job. Most importantly, the amount of food and the price was awesome! It came to less than $50 for all of us, and no one left still feeling hungry. read more

We stopped at Rosita's when we were on a quick trip through Willmar. We were all happy with the large number of choices, easy ordering process, and space for our family of five to sit. I ordered a chicken enchilada with verde salsa. They topped it with fresh avocado and cheese and served it with beans and rice. It was delicious and was more than enough food for lunch. We appreciated the kid's menu for two of my boys. Great food and the right size (and cost) for smaller appetites. This meal powered us through on a very long day of driving! read more

It is probably the most authentic style of Mexican food I had in America. I have had all three of the soups(seafood,beef, menudo) must say all have the distinct flavors and smells. What an amazing place. The service is wonderful and the food is even better. Whether you go on Tuesdays for $1.69 tacos or any other day I can't get enough. It's now my go-to place in willmar. I've tried every meat option you can get on your taco and I can say there isn't one that isn't good and that comes from a picky eater. Now that I've tasted every taco they have, my goal is to try their entire menu at least once. That should tell you how many times I plan on coming back. Good taco joint. Great chips and salsa bar compared to "tame" Q'Doba. If you're looking for some authenticity and locality in your eating, this is a great option. If you're a soda connoisseur this is the place to find your sweet tooth satisfied. Rosita's is one of the best restaurants in downtown Willmar, maybe even all of Willmar. They have a great selection of tacos, burritos, and platters, and the condiment bar--where you can find red and green salsas, fresh cilantro, limes wedges, and peppers--is always well-stocked.
