I got my tattoo done with Jordan at Rose & Crown, and she was incredible! She had such great attention to detail, and brought my dream tattoo to life. I got an add on to my existing shoulder tattoo, and it she made my tattoo blend in so beautifully. Jordan was very easy to talk to, extremely responsive, and made me feel so comfortable throughout the process! The vibe was also so warm, welcoming, clean, and organized. I love their receptionist pup; it's soooo sweet! Also, when my 2 year old daughter came in with me during my initial consultation (yes, that's her on my tattoo) they were all so nice and accommodating to her too! Even my daughter enjoyed the place. I'm positively thrilled to leave this shop a glowing rave of a review because it is SO nice! I have only been to shops in Austin and let me tell you how it usually goes. YOU want a tattoo? Really? Here comes the soccer mom! I won't do that design. I only work with my own art. It has been rough to find a good studio that treats me like I am a human and also one with professional artists that respect what my wishes for tattoos are. I had basically given up on getting any other body art done until I found this charming little studio on Instagram. First off, it's a little south but not too far. It's in the country on beautiful property. It's so nice and quiet. The place is pristine with no smell, no loud tattoo machine noises, no smokey smells. It's the cutest little shop. There is a sweet shop pup to greet you and the most friendly staff ever. I had an amazingly calm and professional experience here and I'll certainly be back. It had been about ten years since my last tattoo and I was overwhelmed with the over abundance of options in the Austin area. My last few tattoos were completely unplanned, walk in experiences, and done by people who weren't necessarily patient or kind with me. That's a long winded way of saying finding Rose & Crown felt like an actual breath of fresh air. I found them on Instagram looking for a woman-owned local studio. The process was so easy from sending them a message to the actual day of appointment. I met with the artist Coco Nicole for a consultation and explained what I was wanting. She was amazing and was open to working on an old tattoo that had faded. She designed two custom tattoos for me and helped adjust things the day of the session. I've never had an artist who listened so attentively and who actually made me feel like my opinion mattered. Highly recommend working with her- I felt so welcomed and she has the lightest hands when working on you. The studio itself was a spa experience compared to every other place I've been. The rooms are open and spacious. She gave me some privacy by closing off our space. There was no crowd of people hanging around (I once got a tattoo on 6th st, never again) and it was very relaxing. I'm already looking forward to booking my next appointment to get a portrait of my dog. Every artist here has a unique style and I would feel comfortable working with all of them. read more

Betty is an AMAZING tattoo artist. Hailing from New York, she's been tattooing for nearly 15yrs, and recently moved to Texas to grace us with her lovely take on the traditional style, along with her wonderful gift for creating "cattoos". She is the owner of Rose and Crown, and I recently had the absolute pleasure of receiving my first round of my flower tattoo on my shoulder. This tattoo has been a dream of mine for 7yrs, and Betty is finally making it come to life. She is easy to communicate with on the design, and has brought it to life in a way more gorgeous than I could've imagined. Being worked on by her is a dream; she is fast, concise, and amazing detailed. I sat for two hours, and she managed to get a large chunk out of the way. On top of her talents, the shop is clean, bright, cozy, and gorgeous. I've never been more comfortable in a shop. It breathes elegance and professionalism, and features her lovely white horse, Snowflake, in the back pasture. While personally a little far out of MY way (I'm in Round Rock, she's in Manchaca) I found the trek out to be absolutely worth the work and experience. Her use of Saniderm on my tattoo made for the breeziest recovery I've ever had with a tattoo, despite this being my largest. Her use of the "second skin" over it left me with virtually no swelling or itching over the days after. If you're looking for an absolutely professional and talented artist to bring your whimsical (or not!) tattoos to life in a fast, reasonably priced, and oh so spot on way, Betty Rose and her team are your gals. After 8 tattoos and never going to the same artist twice, I've finally found a permanent home to bring my body picture dreams to fruition. 10/10. I've been meaning to write this review for a minute, but I love this shop. When you first walk in it's a very clean, bright, and inviting environment. Shannon Moxie is an amazing artist and all around incredible person, I went in to get my very first tattoo with her last fall and my experience was so positive I have since gotten a second piece and will be returning this fall to get two more large pieces. She is a very professional and incredibly talented artist. Aside from her work simply speaking for itself( I get compliments on the pieces she has done for me constantly and people asking me where I got them done) she is also a very kind and genuine person who is willing to work with you to make sure you're happy with the artwork that will live on your body. Shannon creates a very safe and welcoming environment and I was happy and comfortable for the entirety of our sessions despite getting some vulnerable spots tattooed. She is very up front with her pricing and is excellent at communicating what you can expect in a session. I have not personally been tattooed by any of the other artists at Rose and Crown but they all contribute to the overall professionalism present in this shop. I can not wait for swimming and fun in the sun season to be over so I can go back to get more tattoos! If you're thinking of starting a new project I can't recommend Shannon highly enough- I would give her 6 stars here if I could. read more

I went here to see Shannon Moxie for my first tattoo (and others since) and let me tell you, it's fantastic. The Shop: Very inviting. It's a building that used to be a house and it sits on a country road next to farms. It feels like a spa when you walk in - clean, well-kept and smells nice. You can tell all of this is intentional and meant to foster a welcoming atmosphere. The Staff: So nice. A bunch of badass chicks who know what they are doing when it comes to tattoos. Not elitist at all and super friendly. Will put you at ease and keep you informed every step of the way. Shannon Moxie: My tattoo Sherpa. I call her Sensei. Imagine you are having a minor surgery and the doctor/nurse gives you a ton of specific instructions/info on what to do before, what will happen during and what to do after - this is how she operates with tattoos. On top of her needle-side manner, she is super talented. My first tattoo was an original piece by her and the next was a custom piece. Designing custom piece was a very collaborative process. I just had the pleasure of finishing up a year and a half long cover-up project with Betty Rose at R&C. I am absolutely in awe of her work. All of the staff there is so kind and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. The shop is pristine and so freaking cute! Willie the shop dog and Snowflake the horse are such a bonus. I got my tattoo done by Betty in December 2019. I have nothing but good things to say about Betty and Rose & Crown. Everyone there was so kind and the shop is exceptionally clean.
