Loved everything about this place! It was absolutely beautiful and fun. I had the salmon and my friends had the lamb which was great! And the the lobster and steak! Wow that was amazing! The sweet potatoes and the mash potatoes was a hit as well. It was my birthday and they made sure I felt special with a cute desert and sparklers. The Dj was amazing as well not to mention their drinks were awesome. I would recommend this place every time can't wait to go back again. Is this place new?? First let me say that the food was great. The concept of the restaurant is good. The execution of certain aspects...not so much. The restaurant is way too dark for a 7:00 pm seating. When you and everyone else dining or working in the restaurant have to use a flashlight to see, you might need to turn up the lights. A DJ playing dance music is very NYC/LA not Tulum or maybe just start the club vibe a little later in the evening. Now to the service: I don't think I have seen this many service people working in any restaurant other than Tao in NYC. No less than 10 different service people came to the table during our meal. Don't get me wrong, I love great service but this was a bit of overkill. People were coming to the table every few minutes asking if we were ok or if we needed anything. The question of the night was "Where were we from?". It was a bit much for us. Maybe people like that type of service??? We don't. We wanted a cappuccino but the server told us that they weren't that good, which we appreciated. We then asked for the check and it took quite some time for them to bring it to us. I guess they have a system in place that a supervisor has to review the check before it is presented. I wanted to use my cc and they needed to bring the portable machine and that didn't work so they had to bring another machine...Success!! I've been here twice, last week and last year in December. The first time we found this place on accident and we were so happy we did. The service here is out of this world!!! Everyone is so attentive and ensure that you have the best possible experience. 5 star service. The ambience is romantic. Dark lighting, lights all over, and beautiful. We ordered the speciality gin drinks and they were beautifully presented. For dinner we ordered the guacamole, empanadas, catch of the day, branzino, and chipotle mashed potatoes. The highlight was definitely the catch of the day, it was a fish that is from the Gulf of Mexico. Soooo delicious and flavorful. I would return to this restaurant again and again. I think I had a high expectations from this place. Main was so bad so we just had a bite and didn't eat... waiter wasn't much care about us.. I think because of we don't look like spend lots of money... and also Asians, but some food was good like soups. I am not able to judge whole foods they have and restaurant but I haven't had bad food taste experience for so long. They killed fish taste with super strong flavor souse... doesn't any make sense.... I personally hate to have left over food but we could not eat. The food was good and drinks were good - but they are missing much of their wine list. The one of the steaks we ordered was sent back twice because they don't know how to cook a done thick cut steak. The fish was good - however they deep fried the left over bones and head , I think it was for a decor effect. The atmosphere was great, romantic. The service was friendly but a little slow. Wine and shots Revised. I looked at my receipt wrong on prices of wine and shots. They were quite reasonable and EXCELLENT!!! We will be back!! Tip: The filets come with potatoe wedges ~ 4-5. If I had realized this, I might not have ordered the chipotle white cheddar mashed potatoes. We arrived slightly before 5pm. We didn't eat lunch and were looking for an early steak dinner. They asked if we had reservations which we didn't, but at that time it wasn't a problem. I'm sure it would have been a problem a little later, especially since it was a Saturday. Bread: They served us each a puffed pastry bread with cheese inside and Parmesan on top with 3 dipping sauces along with a tin of crispy corn tortillas. Chipotle cream sauce (mild heat), jalapeño dark green sauce (medium heat) and the habanero light green sauce was extremely HOT!!! Be careful. (It looks innocent like the green sauce from Gringo's in Houston but it is about a million times hotter!) Appetizer: Spicy Crispy Octopus. It was good but not sure what was crispy about it. Maybe the Tortilla chips they give you to eat it with. We both had the filet's for dinner. They were cooked exactly as we asked to our perfection. We had as a side the Chipotle white cheddar mashed potatoes. These were ok for me and great to my fiancé. The cheddar was kind of stringy in the potatoes. The total bill with 4 HUGE EXCELLENT FRESH strawberry Pina coladas (with extra rum shots) and 2 glasses of cabarnet was $3415 Pesos or ~$189 before tip. I enjoyed the excellent service and good food. I was surprised with the ice cold bathrooms (they had AC). And they brought us cold wet towels to put around our neck and wipe our face. NICE touch!! And refreshing!!! They really do go out of their way to please you and make you comfortable! We are anxious to go back and try different items like the rib eye hamburger and dessert. read more

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend who had been in Tulum the week before, she described it as "Sexy and Delicious", and it lived up to that title! I was staying at a VRBO down in Akumal with 12 of my friends for the Day Zero music festival in early January. We decided to try a restaurant in Tulum for dinner one night. I'll start out by saying that we didn't necessarily realize it was a 40 minute drive into Tulum, which actually ended up taking us a little over an hour, as there was A LOT of traffic on that one single road into Tulum on a Wednesday at 8pm (leaving the restaurant at 10:30pm was no problem at all). But once we arrived, everything was great. They had a nice table reserved for us (even though we were about 10 minutes late!). Make your reservation ahead of time on Open Table. Once we arrived service was very attentive and efficient. They took our drink orders, gave us menus and filled up our waters. The ladies bathroom had an attendant handing out free glasses of champagne, and there was a super cool violin player playing really fun music around the restaurant for most of the evening. Our table loved everything we ate. 2 of us split the Peruvian Ceviche which was soooo good, probably could have been split by 3 or 4 people. I ordered the fish of the day which was also fabulous! It came a la cart and I got worried and split 2 sides (mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables) with a friend, which was definitely unnecessary after the ceviche. The mashed potatoes were really good though. I also got 2 mezcal drinks from the menu, one was more fruity and one was the margarita, I would say they seemed a bit light on mezcal, but other than that they were yummy. One warning, they tried charging us $15 USD per person for water (just regular water, not sparkling or anything). I understand having to pay for water, but that is almost as much as I spent on my Mezcal drinks! They claimed it was a standard charge and "no group has ever complained about it before", but we did, and had it reduced. After that was removed, my portion of the bill turned out to be $100 USD with tax and tip and everything. Like I said though, most of what I got could have been split with way more people than I did! read more

We went last night and found the experience to be overwhelming, and also we got scammed which kind of ruined the night. The music is really loud inside, you cannot hear the others at your table. The restaurant says it has free valet. When we got there, the parking attendant told us that the parking lot was full and we needed to pay $20 to park our car! This was a scam. I ended up having the manager come outside with me, after he told me that the parking attendants are a separate company that scammed me. Which is not believable. Seems that Rosa Negra is in on it. Which is absurd in light of the fact that dinner was $200 for 2 people, well above the high priced restaurants nearby. read more

Tried this place on a Saturday night! It was so good that we decided to go back one more night. The food is delicious, well served, gigantic portions on Salads,meat and beets. Pretty good cocktails, nice ambience and music. The service was pretty good first night, not so good the second one but the food and the atmosphere made me forget about it; besides it was vacation time, not rush at all. Love their show! Visited on a Thursday night with a party of 8 and had an amazing experience! First off, the ambience is so sexy with dim lighting and open air seating. The service was amazing! We ordered a variety of different appetizers and plates to share with one of our favorite being the sea bass. We also ordered a bottle of tequila for the table which was a treat as it was chilled right next to us and readily available whenever we wanted more. Of course, the bill was a little pricey (about $100 USD pp) but you get what you pay for. I will definitely return the next time that I am in Tulum. read more

The food was largely very good (not outstanding but solidly good). We shared the short rib pot, chamoy salad, salmon, rib eye, and seafood rice. Portions are very large so we came away with a whole other meal's worth of take-away bags. Service was fine but incredibly slow.
