I took my girlfriend here for a fancy date night on our last night in Cancun. The ambiance was nice, and the place definitely looks and feels upscale. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill quickly. The service was flashy but slow, and we followed the waiter's recommendations for both an appetizer and our entrees. He told my girlfriend her entrée didn't come with a side, so we ordered one. After several cocktails, her entrée arrived--but mine never did. I sat there watching her eat while I waited. When I asked the waiter where my meal was, he simply said, "it is not working." I then asked a manager for help, but he disappeared and never returned. The bill came with no apology, no explanation, no discount, and nothing complimentary. It was an awkward and uncomfortable way to end what was supposed to be a special evening. Mistakes happen, but what really bothered me was that there was no effort to acknowledge the problem or make it right. I do not recommend. This was the only fulfilling option on the menu. It came out well, very soft and mushy as risotto often is. The mushroom slices were limited but overall cooked well. At some point they had a fire show. You really have to be more out in open dining area to enjoy. We had kind of a private area so didn't see any of the show. We sat down for our reservation at 8:30 and we just now received our food at 10:18. The salmon arrived uncooked, and after sending it back, a new plate never arrived. Another review mentions the service being flashy but slow, and that describes it perfectly. Immediately upon showing us to our table, we were ushered to get up and go watch the fire/dance/drumming show. It was cool at first, but the servers proceeded to come around handing us sparklers and asking us to dance and get on top of the chairs FOUR times before actually taking our order. It started raining outside and we requested to be moved indoors, to which the server replied "embrace it!" Funny, but not after the slow service we have received so far. We were moved indoors after it started raining harder, and instead of giving us new water glasses, the servers proceeded to bring our old glasses and hand them out at random to us. We were attempting to ID our water glasses by the lipstick stains at this point. For how expensive this restaurant is, I feel that giving us new glassware isn't too big of an ask. We came here on a bachelorette trip after seeing reviews that this is a "party restaurant," and we were met with extremely slow service and uncooked food. Unfortunately, this restaurant would not refund a prepaid dinner and show reservation after the U.S. Department issued extreme caution for travel and shelter in place warning for Americans. I been to Los Cabos location so I definitely had to try this one out. Lets just start by saying the place is beautiful makes you feel like your in Tulum. The restaurant is waterfront so its so beautiful i went during sunset and it was so romantic. The only negative thing is the bugs i got so many bites on me :(. They have a fire show, and some drinks and dishes have like a special show, so music it's on the louder side on those moments. The menu mostly steaks and seafood. We tried a couple of the ceviches, and there were tasty. Plates were very well portioned, specially the Risoto de camarón y la arrachera. They cocktails, and wine, a fairly good selection. Celebrated our 5th Anniversary in the most amazing restaurant. The location is right off the main strip and very easy to navigate. We were greeted promptly and taken to our table. The location has an inside and outside option but outside is what our butler suggested to see the show at 9 pm. We ordered drinks I got the Naughty Bird all the drinks were presented beautifully. The taste matched the look it was delish. We order burrata, ceviche, beef empanadas, and a steak dish. All the food was delish my fav was the risotto and steak. The highlight of the night was the fireworks show. They get a 10/10 for entertainment. They also offer free wine in the bathroom. We loved it so much. I booked Rosa Negra as the last and splurge dinner for our trip. It was to celebrate my husband's birthday, so why not go all out? The menu is extensive. There is a variety of meat and seafood dishes, with many appetizers and sides to choose from. Someone will come around with a display of the kobe beef and large lobster to upsell you. Other than that, there are other special items you can choose from than your typical run-of-the-mill high end steakhouse items. If you're looking for an extravagant dinner, you will get what you're looking for. Hubby chose the Takamori NY strip, one of the kobe beef choices. They "cook" it tableside. I was fairly disappointed by this part actually. It's not a chef who comes tableside and carefully prepares your very expensive piece of perfectly marbled wagyu. It's one of the "managers", who is obviously not a trained chef. He handled the steak with his hands (albeit with gloves on) and, for lack of better of words, manhandled and butchered this beautiful piece of beef. I was cringing the entire time. The beef was lightly seared over hot stone. It's all it really needs. And then seasoned with some salt. It was delicious of course. But that's because the quality of the meat is very high. It does not reflect the skill of the... preparer. I got the special octopus that is like 0.0000x% of octopuses. It was grilled and served with a chimichurri sauce and potatoes. The octopus was very tender and not at all chewy. \We also got the croquettes for appetizer and those were pretty good, but very filling. Their portions are surprisingly large and meant for sharing. If you're a party of 2, plan accordingly. I think the perfect table size is 4 based on the portion size. I actually really enjoyed the free chips and bread course. There were multi-colored corn tortillas served with 3 salsas and a flaky brioche bread stuffed with cheese. YUM! Drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. For dessert, we got carrot cake, my husband's favorite. It was ginormous, of course. A quick note on the ambiance, it feels like a Vegas nightclub. read more

This has to be one of the best recommendations from seeing an ad at the airport when we got to Cancun. Its a high end dinning entertainment expirience that you will not regret. Not all their hourly shows are great but make sure to ask what time will the 1st show start the night you decide to go. Also what show will be going on at the time you reserve. Shows start about every hour & every show is about 10 mins so arrive early. The night view of the lagoon n harbor are picturesque. The ambiance is a little loud, interactive and they do a good job to get you in a party mood. It is a restaurant so no age restriction just be cognisant they turn off the lights, give you fire sparklers, stand on the chairs and when the bongos start... people get up n dance! Went here during spring break and it was extremely close to the resort we were staying at. The service and ambiance were superb. The food was amazing too. I got the salmon ceviche and the tuna tostadas and I have been thinking about it for over a month at this point. The fish was so fresh and flavorful. I literally never had tuna that good before in my life. If you like raw fish, i definitely recommend those two dishes. We all spent around $40-60 per person (including drinks). The restaurant itself was super lively and fun. Even the bathroom was gorgeous and the bathroom attendant was serving champagne. Food: First thing we had was the complimentary bread, it was alright, not revolutionary or anything. I ended up ordering the Risotto with fillet. Now this was something I would order time and time again if I could! This was so good, the risotto was creamy and well seasoned, while the fillet was tender and flavorful. There is also a fire show at the end of the night and dancing! Music will play and the servers/workers will hand out sparklers to sing your heart out! The reason I'm subtracting a star is because of how hot it is to sit outside. It almost makes you feel like passing out. Our table was in the corner and didn't get much of the fan circulations so a lot of us felt really hot/nauseous. It only started feeling better when the sun was completely gone and we had gotten our food. SO much fun! I recommend making reservations around 8 so you can have the opportunity to watch the 9pm fire show (truly mesmerizing). Upon arriving, we waited in a line to check in to our reservation. After reading some of the other reviews, patience is a must. To me, it was all worthwhile! We were there for a couple of hours. It takes time to get the food to your table, but it was fun to see how much fun everyone was having. It's really loud in there and somewhat hard to make conversation with the entire table. But it's a vibe nonetheless. Guacamole is delicious, especially when paired with the Skirt Steak Tacos. The tacos were small but the meat was perfect and it melted in your mouth with a punch of wonderful flavor. If you really want the ultimate experience, order the Lucifer Tomahawk on Fire. Ambiance: 9/10 Our party of 7 arrived just after our scheduled reservation time, (8:30 Saturday) and the staff was very accomodating and understanding of our tardiness. Fortunately, the night had just begun and the restaurant was not too packed yet. There was a fun neon light fixture in the shape of angel's wings for a photo opportunity as well. We were treated with an impressive fireshow with nearly every table getting two+ sparklers to join in on the fun. The only reason this isn't a 5/5 experience was because of how much smoke came off the sparklers. At one moment, it became hard to breathe and a napkin was used to try to filter the air as some of us started coughing and rubbing our eyes. Service: 2/10 As stated above, the staff was accomodating for our tardiness. Once seated, one of our party members felt ill and went to the restroom to freshen up. The staff was very patient with us and we ordered shortly after returning. We had then ordered our food and the appetizers came out rather quickly. We had our first taste and was excited for the rest of the meal. After the apps came out, all but two of the mains (mushroom risotto & steak risotto) came out shortly after the appetizers. The party waited for 5 minutes before starting eating, but the two risottos didn't come until nearly 40 minutes after the rest of the party had been served their mains. When it did come out, they brought out a mushroom risotto and a different dish entirely to which the returned back to the kitchen. At this point I was quite frustrated by this and I tried to wave down a manager to have a conversation. I can't speak for this manager, but when I waved him down after making eye contact and standing up, he personally ignored me and asked that the waiter come and help us out. The waiter assured us that our food was coming shortly but after 45+ minutes we wanted more than just reassurance. Finally, we decided to cancel that steak risotto and after having spoken to 3 different waiters about our food order, a manager had come around insisting that we have some margarita shots to help improve our experience. Personally I felt that the margaritas were watered down, but it was a nice gesture, albeit it seemed forced and insincere. I was hoping for a 10-20% discount due to the inconvenience and the frustration suffered that evening but ultimately we left paying the full bill. Food: 4/10 Every table started off with some chips and some salsa. I love spicy food and the salsa did not disappoint. Our party started off with a Peruvian Ceviche (450 MXD) and a RosaNegra salad for the table, both of which were stellar. I loved the freshness of the fish and the salad was well-dressed and not drowned in dressing. We also had a bone marrow dish which looked amazing, but I didn't have any for myself. I ended up ordering the shrimp risotto (1100 MXD) and I was rather disappointed by the risotto. To clarify, it was really rich and creamy, but was only given two shrimp on top. My friends ordered the steak risotto and the mushroom risotto as well, and I came to find out that the base is exactly the same. The only difference was in the toppings which defined the dish. This may be too much to expect, but I was certainly hoping for the taste of shrimp in my shrimp risotto, the taste of mushroom in the mushroom risotto, and the taste of beef in the steak risotto. Instead we were served a standard risotto base with different toppings. I will say though that the shrimp and steak were well seasoned and not over-cooked. Overall: A unbiased average rating would be 15/30 which is a 2.5 star rating by Yelp's standards, but the service left such a sour note in our night that it really affects my scoring and that's why I've given it a 1.5/5 star rating.
