This park certainly adds a huge amount of greenery to the centre of Bendigo. In fact it is a lovely park in which to walk around, with lots of trees, lots of facilities and shelters, and a lovely garden that heads up to a poppet head. Mind you, I suspect that the hill was actually once a slag heap but has since been turned into a major park, and they certainly have done quite a good job at it as well. Then again, the mines have been sitting dormant for ages, so time certainly does heal a lot of wounds. read more
