Not only is this mall huge and expansive, it also is connected to New York shopping which has its on variety of stores and a fantastic IMAX theater and VIP salon. And it has a walking bridge (albeit long) to Village mall for all the fashionistas that need only the highest brand names. Don't forget to check out the fun Game Center. It was a great venue for the Barra Downtown Shopping Beer Festival, outside with good weather (sunny with a breeze and not too hot) with adequate benches to sit and talk with friends. They have a nice open space with wide walkways and a new apartment complex soon to be built. It is very convenient to the bus stop, which many go back and forth between Zona Sul and Barra. I also really like the solar powered phone recharging stations. I haven't seen those before but thought the concept was good. I don't know if people actually use them since they looked a little rusty. They needed to have stools to sit down with your phone. Also if you didn't bring your own cable, I'm not sure who you could connect. Good idea, not sure how practical.

It has large open halls with skylights and open floors. Stores are regular Rio brands (not a lot of designer brands) but look well organized. Overall staff friendliness in stores is markedly different; people are polite and patient. This definitely has the best customer service of any mall in Rio. There's a taxi stand, a large food court, several other sit-down restaurants, an entertainment zone, cinema and parking.

If you're getting something repaired and have some time to kill, head downstairs and grab a burger or a beer at any of the variety of other businesses that occupy the building aside from electronics stores. But walking around this mall was a fun time. It wasn't super crowded despite being a holiday. This mall has it all. Coffee shops, bars, restaurants at different price points, chocolate shops, clothing stores, açaí, toy stores, etc. It has a cinema. It's clean, spacious and well-organized. It was easy for me to find what I was looking for despite being distracted by all the different stores. If you're tired of being out in the sun on the beach, this is a nice little break. This is a very cool and contemporary shopping center in Rio. The center is quite large and spread across several floors. The layout is a little weird with branching side corridors that make it potentially possible to get a bit turned around. Also, I could not find a single store directory or map in the entire place! There is a mix of stores you might never heard of if you're from the U.S. along with some familiar names. My favorite is the L'Occitane au Bresil store which features skincare products made in Brazil with Brazilian ingredients. Some of the staff in the various stores spoke some English and others not. Knowing a few Portuguese phrases will serve you well. I was disappointed that there was no store selling souvenirs for those who might want to pick up something for friends or family back home. On the top floor is a large selection of various restaurants to suit nearly any taste. Definitely give this center a visit if you want to shop in Rio!
