My boyfriend and I recently got into RC cars, and he has visited Riders a few times to pick up…read moreparts. Unfortunately, each visit has been disappointing. They often sell him the wrong items or are completely out of what he needs to get his RC car running. Most recently, he purchased a brushless motor they recommended, and we returned today hoping to buy a transmitter. To our surprise, we were informed that they wouldn't have any in stock until the end of August! To add to our frustration, they have a strict no-return policy, so we're stuck with parts that don't work for us. It's frustrating to rely on a shop that consistently misses the mark on customer needs and doesn't offer refunds for incorrect purchases. We won't be coming back and want to warn others to think twice before buying from them.

Good evening I just bought a Traxxas X-Maxx Ultimate over the past weekend at a different shop…read moreonly because they didn't have that one in stock. I work 2 blocks down the street so was looking at long term relation ship for this next step for me with this new hobby. I noticed the shocks didn't have oil in them so stop in to check asked them they said yes they should have had oil in them but maybe not enough I said well let me grab it from my Jeep and tell me what you think a kid looked to be 20 said there's a $30 charge for that! Hu?? really I said your joking right he said nope I'm like keep that oil and any other stuff I might need I wont buy anything from here! this could have been a great thing but to be like that cant even take 2 seconds to look at something with out wanting money or to get paid! I was shocked that never used to be like that people would give you help with something just as a courtesy good for business. well I had allot of money to spend there maybe not today but there's other cars I might have wanted down the road that one I just bought was $2200 well it wont be from there. ( its going to happen someone some ware will be having a heart attach but before any life saving measures happen there's going to be a charge)

This is one of my favorite shops. Cute and charming sitting on the main street in downtown Lowell…read moreyou'll feel transported back in time. A true variety store they have a little bit of everything from pet supplies and hardware to spices and bolts of fabric all priced reasonably. The floors creak in just the right places and you can still buy candy by the piece. We always visit when we're in town but Christmas time is just magical. Decorations and the hustle and bustle of the season just can't help igniting a festive feeling. The employees are kind and engaging. Finally no visit is complete without bringing home a pound (or more) of the chocolate covered peanut brittle. They just don't make shops like these anymore, what a treasure!

Despite the "masks required" notation on the website, neither employee working today is wearing a…read moremask. Given the knowledge that mask wearing reduces COVID-19 transmission by as much as 70%, the lack of precautions on the part of the 2 young female staff working today is a clear indication that this establishment does not care about public health and safety. Reprehensible. I will not be returning.

10/10 Best Tabletop Gaming store in West Michigan!…read more Jesse has helped build an amazing community that has something for everyone. If you have ever wanted to get into tabletop gaming, modeling, painting, or TCG's like Magic: The Gathering Far Harbor is the place to be! Jesse (the owner) and the other players there are always willing to lend a hand and answer questions about any of the product in store. Which is a TON of product! You will never find a more knowledgeable staff and player base than the one at Far Harbor. They all actually play the games that the store sells, rather than other "game stores" that just sell product but don't know anything about the game at all. They offer a great discount on most items, and also host a TON of community events like tournaments, demo days, and even hobby days. If your looking to get the best value out of your hard earned hobby money Far Harbor is the place to go! Plus Ash is the best boy of a shop dog!

Hobby Recycling is located just west of Grand Rapids. Besides having new merchandise they have gently used trains and scenery too. I have assembled an almost complete Amtrak Empire Builder and Santa Fe Chief. I also have a good start on a UP passenger train and Sound Transit's Sounder. If you have champagne taste and a Budweiser budget, this is the place to come for gently used trains.

GOOD THINGS!! -Great store in a great location…read more -Great staff, -Good judges, -clean bathrooms, -clean floors and tables. -Pretty good selection of cards, -Decent selection of the last decade of packs, -and a dedicated customer computer that makes it easy to pick out singles. -Events are regular and will often have 40+people most weekends. -Paints, tabletop games, minis, gotcha, ... a good mix of most everything. -Next door to some great food. Literally get there 2hrs early and feast first... unless you like to game on an empty stomach. BAD THINGS!! It seems that reviews for this store are low when this store has to enforce rules or work with third party rules. Online purchases get lost in the mail, mail takes too long, walmart colab, preordering thousands of dollars 9months in advance and order limits get put in place... that's when people seem to feel slighted. Examples: -Waited for an online order for over a year... before saying anything. -ordering 1k+ in preorder... and a limit cap put on it retroactively. -order canceled for suspected fraud. prices changed before new order. -Store charges more than market price... to make money... ...at a store. -"I've been waiting here, saying nothing for 3minutes, why aren't they helping me, me, and me!? I shouldn't have to ask or be active in getting what I want." -4staff total... 50person event in process, 3different tables have questions, Judge!, 10people in line to buy things, 15 people browsing, full moon and payday, Judge!, 18orders backed up for singles, (hey the bathroom on the left needs some looking into) Judge! Conclusion Most negative reviews are about online interactions going through third-party sellers or when third-party notifications don't work as intended. Almost all of the positive reviews show that the staff work hard, know what they are doing, are keeping the place as clean as possible, stock up as best they can, are trying their best to invite friendly people back, and operate with honor. My review: One of the only places left in this city that people can exist with no cover charge or service fee. I will gladly look here for cards, packs, and events before I ever go online for anything. An extra 10% on the price is an easy amount to pay for a half dozen full-time staff/judges and a place to gather with friends and foes. In-store:10/10 all the way. Online: 10/10 average or 3/10 when things mess up.
