First, this place is a bit hard to find, but well worth a trip out to Sunderland (there are also other reasons to visit Sunderland, but this is the best one). Stairs lead down to a small restaurant from the main door. It is worth starting out with the homemade tortilla chips and getting a set of salsas. I like some heat in my salsa and some of the hottest ones really dont disappoint. The food here is great and really hits the spot for a Mexican craving. Options include tacos and burritos. We each had a burrito, one pork one chicken. The problem I usually find with UK Mexican is that it isnt well-seasoned enough and generally lacks flavor. The meat and toppings here do not have that issue. The burritos were big and filling. I missed having something on the side, like rice and beans though. That would really clench it for me. As for the drinks, there are tons of great cocktail options like margarits, mojitos, palomas, etc. as well as Mexican beer options like Modelo and Corona.

From the cheerful greeting upon our arrival to the delicious desert everything was top notch. The meals were wonderful and the service was quick, friendly and professional. We were so impressed that we returned yesterday for the Sunday lunch. Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and again the meal exceeded our expectations. We shall return whenever we are in the vicinity.

Which I totally understand, they don't want to fix things , however the typed, laminated and then cello taped to the wall makes it loose it's charm a little. A welcome booklet with it detailed inside would of been much nicer. Breakfast options were a little limited but did the job. Staff were nice. All in all I feel there's a little too much hype because of a Gordon Ramsey connection.

A bar on one side of building & a large restaurant area on the other. We booked a table in the morning but could have walked in as it was not to busy for a Saturday night. Mainly couples as customers. The Menus where full & extensive,at a reasonable price. Including special boards. I had steak & ale pie with chips and vegetables, a man size dinner was provided. Partner had chicken Parma with chips and salad again a nice size serving. All those that I saw eating regardless of what was ordered was plentiful. More than enough waiting staff to serve drink & deliver food, which wasn't to over powering as can be the case sometimes. All very pleasant and polite. We delayed our desert to finish of drinks and I had spotted dick and custard which again was plentiful & partner had key lime pie & ice cream, again perfect. On departure settled bill at bar & said how very nice it had been. The car park at the front and side of building was more than ample, failing that more room around a large village green. So if your heading south from Durham City head for Tudhoe Village, not Tudhoe. Easily confused. There is a brown sign on the main road through Tudhoe. Well deserved 5 stars.

There is a great deal on Tuesday for Tapas, all of which looked delicious as well a menu and bar displaying local beers, cheese and fish. Which is definitely something to boast! It was very busy when I was there and it could benefit from an outdoor area with more seating. The cocktail list was very nice and a bargain at some chosen cocktails at 2 for £6, although I noticed they were premixed. It's great that they will soon be expanding with the opening of the restaurant and hopefully will be there for a while to come so I can visit again.
