Unfortunately this place turned out to be a huge nightmare for us. At first we thought everything was fine the sales guy was nice not rude or pushy we ended up buying a used GMC Sierra. The salesman, the financial guy both assured us This truck was checked from head to toe. It was going to be super reliable. They said they only sell high-quality. Well, that was all a lie. Within the first week of having it, we started noticing issues. Ultimately we ended up having to replace the entire transmission ourselves. Do not trust this dealership...especially Jose. My brother was interested in purchasing a truck and planned to pay using a mix of cash and a check issued in my name (from an insurance claim). To avoid any complications, we called the dealership ahead of time to confirm that I, as the check holder, didn't need to be present for the purchase. Jose said he checked with his manager and assured us that everything could be handled smoothly. He told us we just needed to fill out an application with both our details. He said that my name would not be on the loan, I wouldn't be listed as a co-signer, and most importantly my credit would not be run. When the application form listed me as a co-signer, we called again for clarification. He reiterated that I needed to complete it, but only to verify my identity because the check was in my name--not for any credit check purposes. He said this would allow my brother to handle everything without me needing to be there, since I was unavailable that day. And trusting their word, we filled out the form. But when my brother arrived after a two hour drive- ready to buy, he was suddenly told by Jose, "Oh, by the way, we won't be able to use that check unless your brother is here." What?? After all the phone calls and reassurances, they completely changed their story. And to top it off, the next morning, I found out they did ran my credit--exactly what they promised they wouldn't do. This experience was dishonest, misleading, and deeply frustrating. I wouldn't recommend working with this dealership to anyone. I highly recommend salesperson Jose Trevino from Ron Smith GMC. I contacted him for help looking for a new vehicle with specific requirements (color, trim package, etc) within a specific price range. He did everything he could to find something that worked with my specifications, touching base with me every few days, even offering to go over and bring a vehicle from another dealership in the Bay Area, or offering to come to me with a possible vehicle at his dealership to test drive, as I live a ways away and did not have a vehicle due to being hit by another driver. I wound up selecting a vehicle with another dealership local to me because of my job, but I had full confidence that, given a little more time, Jose would have matched me with my dream vehicle. read more

I am having big issues with my 2021 Denali 2500 HD. My truck has been in the shop 8 times. I had it in for front end work, 5 times for the A/C and in January 2025, engine light came on. In May of 2025,engine started making weird noise. Took in to the dealership, they found a large amount of metal shavings in oil pan & oil filter. It was recommended that I need a new engine which quoted at 32k. This engine had on 106k. This diesel engine should go 300k minimum. I have all invoices for all oil changes and service. Owner says there is nothing he can do. But when I first talked to him he agreed,you shouldn't be having this problem. Boy did his demeanor change the next time I talked with him. He said, there is nothing he could do but he suggested maybe I could go sale it to Car Max. This behavior is unacceptable especially coming from the owner. Also he tried to blame where I get my truck serviced at they were using the wrong oil. I believe in buying local but this has really changed my mind. I have purchased 5 vehicles from Ron Smith since 2016, 6 if you count my parents car. I guess they need to change their motto about doing business with a smile and hand shake and high standards. Absolutely pro handling of my surprise repair issue from coordinating a AAA tow, communications on what would be needed, extra checks to replace worn belt and headlights, having the truck driven to ensure everything was working great, totally prompt and courteous repair of my baby, my beloved 2097 Chevy Avalanche truck, all the way to picking me up at a distance and delivering my truck back to me all washed and shiny for a reasonable cost. I felt so comfortable with these big ticket repairs that I'm planning to have my next service there while on my next vacation nearby. Jon was about the most fantastic salesperson I have met. Very forthcoming, transparent, and as helpful as he could be. There was none of the usual underhanded sales tricks you hear about. The offer was slightly lower than the price of the same car, different color at another dealership. I have never been treated like that at any other dealership, new or used. Horrible service department. I took one car there a few months before and thought they did a satisfactory job. I took a second car to Ron Smith under warranty and the service manager was rude, disrespectful and seemed to think he was a king and could not be questioned. I showed him where he was wrong in the literature that came with the car. The king then said he made the decision not the manufacturer's book. I will never go back and have told many people about my experience. Some of those had bought and serviced their vehicles there until then and never returned. Others were ready to buy and went elsewhere because they wanted their vehicle serviced where bought. I feel good that I helped at least a number of people make one less mistake. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL....Very disappointing. I purchased two automobiles from this dealership and had a very pleasant experience. I drive 100 miles round trip today after talking with the used car manager, regarding a car I had been down to see before. I get down there and they try to put me in a car that they just told me was serviced and ready to go, I get on the freeway and it won't shift. I then go back and try to deal on another car, and get nothing but a run around. I called and spoke with the used car manager regarding my complaint and he assured me he would handle it and get right back to me, that was over 4 hours ago. Needless to say, I will not ever go back. And I do not recommend them to anybody. There is quite a bit more to this story but I don't want to go on and on. read more
