Other restaurants in the area have tried to make a run with the buffet but none have succeeded like Queens has. They run there buffet 7 days a week and everyday is different to a point. Everyday the two items that are always available are the chicken fried steak and the enchiladas. I know on Thursdays they offer pork chops on Friday they offer fried catfish and on Sunday they offer the whole turkey dinner. I must say that it is pretty good considering some days they have a stampede with all the surrounding oil field companies. On the weekends they also offer breakfast buffet but all in all if you want buffet this is the place.

I think the school there had three short busses to pick up all K-12th. Flash forward if you will and I'm headed back searching for lunch. It's already noon and Alice is the closest "biggest" town on the route. Not a place where Yelp is gonna recommend much so I searched for upscale French. Sadly, there wasn't any. Guess Tex-Mex will have to suffice instead of Whataburger. We roll up and I'd guess busiest place in town. Lots of oil company vehicles and trucks that also support that industry. My work 2500 fit right in. Seated we're offered two types of chips with the house made salsa. Traditional corn tostadas and even fried flour tortillas cut into triangles. Refried beans too? I've seen this before from hopeful chain places in Houston. Order in as I want to get home sorta on time. Friendly service but he blanked on me asking to sub the sausage on the platter for a few extra shrimp. Finally, my sizzling plate of (entire restaurant please look at what's nearly on fire) arrived. Chicken, Shrimp, Beef, and Sausage along with it's support plate of Pico, Guacamole, Spanish Rice, and Charro Beans. Although house made the Flour Tortillas were a bit thick. I ordered Sour Cream; considered ordering cheese too. I made a huge first taco while enjoying the sides. Second tortilla I made with all shrimp. Loaded as many ingredients into it as I could but ended up ditching the tortilla and finished the fillings. Leftovers made it from Alice, Texas all the way back to Driftwood, Texas.

We got lucky (yes, lucky) that the place we normally go was out of what we get for a second time, so this was our chance! We were not disappointed! First, apologies for the lighting on the food photos, I'll get better photos next time. The guy running the trailer is really nice, always smiling. The food, though, absolutely delicious. I had high hopes and I love a food trailer, but it was really beyond good. We ordered barbacoa tacos for me, and a carnitas quesadilla for the boyfriend. The barbacoa... sheesh. It was just ridiculous how good it was. It wasn't dripping grease everywhere because they cook it on a flat top (just a guess) so it gets a little crispy. I've never had barbacoa that was so moist with a little bite to it. Was absolutely amazing. The quesadilla tortilla was brilliant. They have to make them daily or something for them to taste that good. The carnitas wasn't seasoned to death, you could taste the citrus, it didn't taste heavy. We also had rice, but it was chilly in the car so it was cold by the time we got it home. Had a good flavor, though. We'll take an insulated bag next time. Overall, great meal. The boyfriend already wanted to go back last night and get his own barbacoa tacos, but we were so full. lol
