The staff were all very helpful and friendly on my visit. I however was not very impressed with the choice of frames they had and ended up taking my prescription for glasses to another store. Good service but not much choice.

I've tried a few different hire places but Audio Forum were by far the best. They're tucked away in an industrial estate (as many of these places are) in Brislington, but are well worth seeking out. First of all, despite the slightly ramshackle look of their premises, they know what they're doing, hiring out gear for clubs and bars all over Bristol. They're also happy to dispense advice and don't cost that much (I hired a glitterball which was bigger than my torso for £15 for the weekend). Plus they have a laidback attitude about when you return the stuff (as long as it's back in time for the next weekend essentially). Most importantly, I've been let down by other PA hire companies in Bristol and Audio Forum are much more reliable.

Double-fronted with good window displays it manages to avoid inside that 'musty' smell that often characterises second-hand shops, and has a fresh modern interior. There are quite a few bargains to be had - the store sells clothes for all ages, shoes, ladies and gents accessories, books, toys and bric-a-brac. However, clothes prices ain't as cheap as they used to be and the money-saver in me can't help thinking from time to time that an item could be had for cheaper on ebay. Although in fairness I think this of all charity shops nowadays! One range that is different to many is the brand new items they sell - both small designer bric-a-brac items, and ladies fashion jewellery. The jewellery is rather nice, although a bit pricey for my taste. I have often found that the best bargains are to be had in the second-hand books - and if you return them for re-sale once you've read them, you can feel doubly virtuous!

I wasn't sure but thought it was probably the special power adaptor that had died. The other computer shop in Trowbridge was quite happy to sell me a replacement (even though they weren't sure it was the correct one). The guys in abm advised me that it might not be the adaptor at all, but could be the connector in my screen. They didn't try to sell me a new flash screen, but as I had already explained I was looking to replace my pc in a year or two, they suggested buying a second hand screen. After a little negotiation, I got a very good second hand screen for £10 (much less than the cost of the adaptor) and they even carried it to the car for me!

Unlike many antique stores it is well arranged and fairly spacious (3 levels) and NOT dusty like so may that tend to make you sneeze with decades old dust and mold spores in the air. It is primarily upmarket (and pricey) but some very nice art and furniture pieces. Mrs G loved a painting there but just too small for our 15 foot ceilinged family room (converted Manor house) and I loved a massive dining table (too big!!!). Still we had a fun time shopping, and came away with a century old 3 tier cake stand. Chris who manages (owns?) the place is exceeding friendly and helpful Two thumbs up

I popped into this Morrisons superstore today while visiting my friends and god-daughter in…read moreSouthampton. It's located just off the A326 close to junction 2 of the M27. It has a very comprehensive collection of goods ranging from food to electrical to services like a cafe and a petrl station. I liked the layout though it felt a little cramped with the number of Saturday shoppers today. I especially like the seafood at Morrisons and this shop was no exception. There was a giant pack of salmon fillets for less than £10. However, what made it into my shopping basket was a whole kg of large clams, which I've never seen in a supermarket before. The chap at the counter bagged it with a little airhole because the clams are still alive and need to breathe. I'm thinking mouriniere style - sweated onion, white wine and then steam the clams with a touch of cream and parsley at the end. Lots of bread for the juices!
