Today especially, I came in wearing headphones because i was talking to someone on the phone and I guess he said something when i came but i didn't know because i wasn't facing him and couldn't hear with my headphones on. He proceeded to yell "HEY! HEY! HEY! I SAID HOW ARE YOU DOING" which was not at all necessary or professional. When I got to the counter to pay, he snatched my ID out of my hand and rolled his eyes at me. He's always rude to me but this was just too much. He's the only one rude there though, the owner and the rest of the workers are all extremely nice.

This liquor store is known for low prices on national brands. Do you like the #1 selling vodka or rum? This is the place to go. They don't really have a deep selection, it's just the most recent, or best selling brands, and generally in the largest available bottle size. In Texas, they can't sell liquor at the Costco, a liquor store must be its own separate entity. That's why they're doing it like this. The wine selection is generally cheaper price points than the wine sold within the Costco. The selection isn't as great either. Other states sell Kirkland's Best vodka or whiskey. Not this one. They don't offer Malort here. This store doesn't really have any ambience, other than industrial storage. They could use some signs and some cool displays like other liquor stores have. I always appreciate the life size cutouts of the latest celebrity to buy a tequila distillery. The clerk, Mark Anthony was helpful and pleasant and even got me a cool Jack Daniel's #7 box to take out my bottles of booze.

The parking in front was a little difficult to get into and because it's small, we had to park in the back. The store itself isn't large, but they have a good selection of all the popular alcohol as well as mixers and juices. The prices seemed to be slightly cheaper then some other stores in the area. The guy at the register was friendly but not too talkative nor did he offer any assistance. I'm sure he would have been more the happy to help should we have asked for it. The store was well stocked, organized and clean.

Who would've known that this small liquor store had such a large selection of whiskey and scotch?…read more I stopped by J&G Liquor on a Friday afternoon because I needed a few bottles for a virtual cocktail class my husband and I were going to take that same day. From the outside, the liquor store looks pretty rundown and I thought they probably would have a very limited selection of items, but I was WRONG. They have an entire side of the store just for whiskey and scotch. You can find anything from Japanese whiskey, to some amazing Texas bourbons, and also a few of the more affordable brands. I was really surprised by the amazing selection of bottles and the great prices. I am glad to have found a great liquor store near my home!

However being rude to a customer when they…read moreattempt to enter after restrictions have been lifted across most of the state of Texas is not called for. I choose to not wear a mask, it is not required but a private business can elect to restrict their property. When I entered I was rudely asked if I had a mask. When I told the guy no he told me that it is their store policy to wear a mask. While standing at the door I asked if they would be able to shop for me or provide a mask for use or sale he rudely told me nope and I can gladly leave the property. That store only cares for people the care for others. Well it's my right to not wear a mask, it is not legally required but I was willing to work with a local business to help keep them around. As I was pulling out of the parking space I saw another patron turned away rudely for not wearing a mask. I have lived near this local area store for a year and I frequent it when I need to restock on liquor or mixes. I am sad to say that given the rude treatment by the young fellow working the counter tonight I will not be a patron any longer. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. I have spoken several times over the last year to the owner and I will gladly take this up direct with him. I hope this young man learned a lesson about respecting customers and not being rude. If not then he and the owner will suffer but they will have this at least to have some idea of why.
