Not fancy but decent and clean. The guy at the front desk was friendly and the room was affordable.

Booked this motel based on the pictures and reviews. Got in the room and carpets are stained up…read morereally bad. We got a 2 queen non smoking for my mom my son and myself. The bed I slept I in had holes in the sheets. The beds are very hard and uncomfortable. Wall plugs were busted and exposed. The drain under the faucet had been pulled out and left beside the bath tub. Not enough wall plugS for the basic things they offer in the room such as TV and lamp can't both be plugged in. Very old and dated rooms. Had I known thE rooms aNd beds were like this I would have paid the extra $20 for the holiday inn. I could tell by the parking lot this is a workers motel which is fine if the hotel kept up on basic thIngs like linen that wasn't torn and carpets that look like they belong in a frat house. Overall a waste of money I won't stay here again wast of 90$!

Great B&B! My husband and I were visiting family for the…read moreweekend and really enjoyed our stay here. The house was built in the 1800's and has been beautifully restored. There are 4 rooms with private bathrooms and a main area with a living room/dining area/kitchen. House also has a pretty deck and pool area you can enjoy. The rooms are beautiful and quite large. We stayed in room "A" and were very impressed with the bathroom, it was huge and had a rain shower! The staff was very nice and breakfast was delicious. We will definitely stay again next time we go into Gatesville since it's about the same price of a decent hotel room but a much nicer environment.

The is that same review I posted on AirBnB, because I really can't say it any better…read more.... There is absolutely nothing bad I can say, and only good things I can say about our experience here. Jannetta was quick and thorough with communication. The property was better than the description. The house is beautiful. Location was great for our needs. Jannetta met us at the door and greeted us like family. She toured us showing the "necessities" we might need in the kitchen and in our room. And what a room. Great king bed, incredible marble shower with more towels than we could ever use. High-end multi-head shower that was perfect after a long day on the road. The patio and grounds were fantastic. I don't know if Jannetta planned it, but the deer wandering the yard were so cool to watch. Living in the suburbs, we don't get to see deer much anymore so that was great. Breakfast was better than any high-end hotel I've been at in a long, long time. Eggs, bacon, sausage, toast..and all while sitting at the kitchen bar talking with Jannetta like she was family we hadn't seen in a while. We travel around Texas a lot and are so happy we found Jannetta and her property. We'll definitely be back next time we're in central Texas. And the drive from Waco was only about 30 minutes. Not a problem at all when considering what you get for your money.

The king size bed and pillows was comfortable with nice bed sheets and covers. The TV was big and had Directv for entertainment. The staff was friendly and took care of our every need. As a cat whisperer I loved that the hotel had three beautiful and friendly outdoor resident cats. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed one night at the Regency Inn in Gatesville, Texas…read more This motel was previously called Regency Inn Mobile Motels. I confirmed this with the desk staff, he said they changed the name when it came under new ownership. My first impression from the street was that it reminded me a lot of old motels, even a little like the Bates motel due to its dated look, side of the road layout and exterior decor. I was hesitant and skeptical when I pulled in and parked. Many of the old Motel 6 locations looked similar. The price I would consider very reasonable, especially for what you will actual get here. Due to the layout, the rooms are more like suites next to each other. You can park directly in front of your room which is a big bonus. All of the rooms are single story so no messing with stairs or elevators or luggage carts. That puts the Regency Inn in Gatesville, Texas on the top of my list for ease of access and entry. I like having my car near my room. Entering the room I saw the same amenities that all of the motels and hotels have, a TV, King Sized Bed, some drawers for clothing, a mini refrigerator, sink, private shower and toilet. It also had a decent sized table with chair to work at, a sofa chair, microwave and coffee maker. THE GOOD: This is the cleanest smelling room I have ever come across. It smelled fresh, not stale. In fact its the only motel or hotel I have stayed in that hasn't smelled stale. That's really impressive. The air conditioner worked brilliantly, not to cold, the air not pointed directly onto the bed, the quality of air coming from it was fresh. The over all decor is nice, its not as glamourous looking as some of the motels and hotels I have stayed at. But it's quiet, private, secure, and the air is fresh. Those are always the most important features. Walking distance to McDonald's, Taco Bell and 711. THE BAD: No backup door jam lock. The free internet kept dropping and was pretty slow compared to modern expectations for motels and hotels. I had to use my mobile phone wifi hotspot to upload this review. You will need to bring a USB to AC Power plug, since the rooms do not have USB Power Sockets at the time of this review. Black Locusts or Crickets! I moved the sofa chair and found two dead black locusts of crickets. They were to small and shaped wrong to be grasshoppers. Later into the evening I went in to use the restroom, and looked down at the tile on the restroom floor and there was another black locust or cricket wiggling. Obviously, they had been poisoned because there isn't any reason for them to be dead or dying. While I don't like finding bugs of any kind in a motel or hotel room, I used to get crickets frequently and I prefer a dead one to a live noisy one. Final Thoughts: Bring your own coffee or tea, there was only one coffee bag in the room. Bring your own hair conditioner, there was only a unscented generic shampoo, but it lathered up well. I'll keep this motel on my list to revisit if I come through Gatesville, Texas area again.
