It was low and appeared to sink into the ground. There is a "dated" feel to the room but I actually enjoy it. Some newer hotels I've lodged had too much of a retro contemporary feel and was quite uncomfortable to me. The only criticism I have is the size of the bathroom. Kinda reminds me of the bathrooms on a ship's balcony room. To access both 9th and 10th floors, you have to use your club access room key in the elevator. The mobile key won't work. Also, the Club Lounge is on the 9th floor and is open 24/7. It is under renovation and the usual complimentary hor'dourves are not being offered here....only drinks. The lobby's decor for Christmas was stunning, warm and welcoming. It really felt like a wintery Christmas in hot Texas. I also noticed a number of people gathering around the decorative display as to enjoy its beauty. Parking is complimentary as were my 3 bar vouchers. I opted for the red wine the first night and currently deciding on the second and third nights. I would actually stay here again. I love the service and the room.

The sausages were gray, only two kinds of bread (white and a bagel). Eggs were ok at best, they needed some seasoning. But they do have the waffle irons if you're looking to carb up though. The room was kept clean, so good job by housekeeping. Very reasonable price for being located near the Galleria too.

I was a little nervous based on recent reviews, but we had a great stay. The room was clean, with everything in good shape and functional. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Parking was easy in the attached garage. Breakfast offered plenty of choices, with hot options and rotating Tex-Mex items each day. The only minor complaint was that the touch screen on the obviously new elliptical in the fitness center didn't work so you couldn't program a workout. I was going to give 4 stars, but I'm reducing to 3 because after leaving, we saw we were charged for an early check-in. We didn't arrive until well after 4 pm, and neither requested an early check-in or approved a fee. When we called, the person answering the phone insisted that we incurred the fee by using the Hilton Honors app to select the room and get the digital key when prompted through push notifications. At no time were we prompted to select an early check-in or advised of additional fees. I don't believe Hilton is seeking to trick customers through these app features and instead think this location's employees aren't trained in how to properly assess early check-in fees. Ultimately, we were told the fee would be refunded, but it was frustrating that this happened. I would suggest checking your final charges!

My grandmother was with us, and the room was incredibly accessible (we selected an accessible room), with plenty of space for maneuvering her walker, tons of functional storage with nesting furniture, and a plethora of outlets. The bathroom had rails near the toilet and in the shower, as well as what appeared to be an attachment for the tub as a set for someone who couldn't lower themselves into the tub or stand long enough to shower. It was really a thoughtfully designed space for different people with different accessibility needs, which I thoroughly appreciate. The breakfast was also phenomenal, with your standard waffle maker, plus egg scrambles, breakfast sandwiches, a cereal bar, and an oatmeal bar with a plethora of toppings. I really enjoyed the oatmeal bar and my sister and mom both loved the breakfast sandwiches. The juice was a little disappointing, but I've also become accustomed to fresh-squeezed orange juice, so that's entirely a personal preference at this point. I'm a little bit of an orange juice snob these days. The biggest detraction for this lobby area is actually the decor which burned my eyes with how garish and mismatched it was. All of the wallpaper in this hotel was hideous - especially the faux wood wall wood paper that was cool-toned neutrals with the occasional pop of orange...delightfully paired next to brick red accessories. Thankfully, the design aesthetic did not decrease the comfort of the hotel and provided a great breakfast conversation. The only thing I didn't really love was that there were several things in our room that didn't work or didn't work well. The bathroom vent/fan did not work at all, and the bathroom was not really soundproof.... Not an ideal situation. Additionally, there were two shower heads in the shower/tub in addition to the tub spout, and when you turned the tub on, the shower rained down too. I tried everything to turn it off, but the system was broken so I just dealt with it. Weird and a bit of a nuisance, but not a major issue. In the shower, they also had large dispensers for shampoo and body wash, but there was no conditioner? I always bring my own toiletries, but if you don't and come expecting to use what they provide, be prepared to have no conditioner. The toilet seat lid also slammed down every single time unless you slowly lowered it, and it went down fast, so if you weren't firmly holding it, be prepared for a loud bang. Same with the bathroom door. Otherwise, the room was clean, the HVAC worked well, the beds were comfortable, and it was a good stay! I won't say it was the most incredible hotel I've ever been to, but this seems like it would be a nice place for an extended stay - especially with the breakfasts! There was plenty of free parking in the hotel lot, and it's fairly near to some nice areas and major roads. They did have a gym (and I believe a pool), but I did not use either of these amenities. And finally, they're pet friendly!

No dairy-free milk for me, unfortunately, but most hotel breakfasts don't. Overall I'd stay here again when in the area, everything was comfy and parking was easy too.
