Galveston Party Boats was a great deep sea fishing experience! I was very surprised that some…read moreothers didn't have the same experience. The 12 hr fishing trip starts at 0730 and ends at 1930. Some people in our group had gone before and they recommended showing up at 0530 to get checked in, and make sure we were one of the first people in line to get a prime table in the inside cabin of the boat. Just fyi there's only so much space indoors, if you're late, you'll most likely be sitting on the outside deck where's it's definitely hot during the summer. We went during the end of July and from what I've heard this is prime RED SNAPPER season. Just know that federal law limits red snapper to 2 per person with a minimum length of 16" to keep it. Other fish, for the most part are unlimited depending on their size and type of fish you catch, like vermilion snapper for example. As far as the experience goes, expect a 4 hr boat ride out to sea, 4 hrs of fishing, then 4 hr boat ride back to Galveston. This is a full day event. They let you bring food and non alcoholic drinks on board as long as you use a small soft cooler or backpack only. No big hard coolers or alcohol allowed. Luckily they also have a grill onboard with a variety of snacks, burgers, hot dogs, quesadillas, drinks, and beer for sale. That double bacon cheeseburger was SO GOOD! After you get back to Galveston, there are guys waiting to clean/filet your fish for a small price if you want as well. Enjoy, I'll definitely be back again!

It's currently letting Galveston Yacht Club re-establish off of the property. It has multiple floors an is outfitting for meeting or all kinds of spaces, classrooms, etc. I haven't had a full tour. Tons of docks - they are being repaired with a goal date of the end of the year I think, maybe sooner. Prime area. I believe the goal is to sell it to a group to further sailing education and participation which is really cool. Great staff.

November 21, 2021…read more AWESOME EXPERIENCE with Captain Clement Jardin!! In honor of my 60th BD on the 23rd...we, "just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...a tale" of 3 gals on the bayou!!! (gilligan's island song reference) The three of us had the best time...Sunday FUNday! It was predicted to be a 40-80% chance of rain ...BUTT, not today Satan...the weather was perfect...hardly any clouds, 75 out and a decent wind...Capt Clement was patient, friendly and informative. I was the captain for about an hour...then I asked my friend to take over...she hesitantly did! We were on a 30 foot sailboat called, "the lift off!" It had plenty of space to sit. While on the water we met several other sailors/captains that Clement knew and we got to talk to from afloat. This outing cost $50 each and we were sailing in Offatt's bayou for 2 hours (maximum is 3 hours but, we all had to pee, so we lost an hour...old bitty's!!! LOL!) All in all, it was a FANTASTIC experience ...very zen. Get this...one friend aboard hadn't been on (any) kind of boat in 38 years (she had been involved in a near fatal boat crash at 14) and today, was the day she conquered that fear of water-crafts. We all learned a lot from Captain Jardin and about ourselves. Captian Eric was awesome with them to help them catch there first fish so that I could do some fishing by myself. Side note, my son has down syndrom and got to say, Captian Eric was awesome with him to help keep him engauged and teaching him the art of fishing. Must say, both of my kids are now hooked on fishing and I must say that it is much to do with a great experience they had with Captain Eric. We will be back!

Booked a trip with Steven (Alan's brother) based on information and reviews found on Google - they…read morework the same boat on different days. We were worried about the trip because of the full moon the night before and heavy winds at the beach the morning of, but all worked out well. Steven took us to a location with no wind and put us on the bite immediately upon arriving. We ended up limiting out on trout within 90 minutes. We proceeded to fish for reds for the rest of the day and even ended up catching a flounder. Steven is a really nice guy - easy to talk to, not too pushy while being very helpful on technique. Equipment is in good shape and the boat is in nice condition. I've been with many guides who don't want to swap out bait that is damaged or dead - not Steven. Any problem with the bait and a new one was on the hook immediately. Highly recommended - we had a great time.

The skills are practiced on land and in the water they are both very thorough and make sure you are comfortable before moving on with the training. They will answer questions about gear and recommend the best fit for you. However I never felt pressured to buy any gear since the gear is included with the training. I asked about places to dive with while travelling to Mexico and honduras and got some excellent recommendations. These guys are laid back and i would recommend this shop to anyone who is looking to get certified.

They had vendors, arts and crafts, music and, sandcastle lessons, and a drum circle I participated in poetry writing and painting a Roseate Spoonbill bird in water color. I stepped out of my comfort level and skill set today!! Local published poets, Naomi Shahib Nye and Jim Boone ran the group for poetry writing; Naomi read one of my poems to the crowd; they applauded and she told me to take a bow!! WOW! I was shocked I have a video of Naomi reading my poem to the crowd but video is too big to post on this forum ... also have a video of my friend playing in the drum circle Fun day!

We were driving by on a beautiful birding day and a very nice…read moreperson from Artist Boat opened her car window and said it would be alright to go in the gate and get good pictures of a pair of Sandhill Cranes. We went in and got some amazing pictures. Then a rude person who called himself the Executive Assistant of the Director came out and basically accused us of trespassing. He treated us as if we were interlopers and made it clear that no one can come in unless they are part of an institution and we were not welcome there. We would never have come in if we weren't invited. We're an older couple and didn't deserve to be treated so rudely. We've passed the building a lot of times and now will think of this rude individual and look away in the future.
