I visited Rockwall Urgent Care on a Friday. I arrived at 9:40, was promptly greeted by the receptionist. Completed my paperwork and in waiting 5 minutes, was called back to a room. I was greeted by a tech that took my vitals, she asked all the important questions. I was pleased when with in a few minutes in came the provider. Richard PA, was very attentive, listening to my symptoms, He asked a couple of questions after my exam, and said I agree with your diagnose. Asked what worked best for me regarding meds, and within 15 minutes, I was walking out, with RX called into my local pharmacy. I would totally recommend Rockwall Urgent Care. For someone that has been in the medical field, I can appreciate the time and attention they gave. Thanks again for the wonderful care. Now to get better from this sinus infection. read more

This place is horrible. They call themselves an emergency clinic, but they don't even have a blood lab. I went in for an issue, the doctor got fixated on what he thought it was, even though I told him there is not way it could be what he was thinking. He gave me medicine for it anyway, ordered bloodwork to confirm and of course the bloodwork came back negative as I knew it would. Then when the girl called to tell me it was negative, all she said was keep taking the antibiotics that the doctor gave you. I asked her so you want me to continue taking antibiotics, but you have not idea what for, you don't know what is wrong with me. All that was said was yes. Not we can run more tests to see what is actually going on, but yes. BTW, the antibiotics did nothing but gave me other issues. Stay clear from this place. Edited: I have since seen another doctor who took the time to order more than one test (a test on something I told the doctor it couldn't be) and found there are serious health issues. This place cost me money that was basically just wasted and valuable time on my actual health issues. If I could give it ZERO stars, I would!!!!!! read more

My husband and I both went in for a sinus infection, the service was quick as there was nobody else in the office. However, they gave us a steroid shot to hold us over until the antibiotics kick in ... the antibiotics that they NEVER called into the pharmacy. The LAST thing I asked before we left their building was "did you call our prescriptions into the CVS on Ridge Rd in Heath?" and she answered "the doctor sent it over electronically." THAT never happened! I called again this morning and I can't get them to answer their phone. Don't go here for URGENT CARE. You won't get cared for with urgency at all. read more

I wish I could give zero stars for the malpractice I received here. The doctor misdiagnosed me with allergies after I told him I was in contact with a family member with strep. The office took 76 days to say they stood by my diagnosis. They charge my insurance almost $400 and say I owe $140. I am having my insurance audit the claim. Every business makes mistakes the customer service is zero. They did not care and mostly transferred me to a line no one answered. I then had to go to my regular doctor and pay again. I had to do two rounds of antibiotics it had gotten so bad. I lost my voice & missed a week of work. Do not ever go here period. read more

This place is definitely hit or miss. Sometimes we have what we felt was great care and seen quickly. Other times like today the care is not great. There were quite a few people in the waiting room when we arrived. I really wish the front office would inform patients as they check in how long the wait may be. We usually get in right away but today we waited just under two hours to finally see the doctor. The first nurse never took vitals except for oxygen and just asked how much my son weighed and what his height was. She hurriedly asked about symptoms and then left the room. We again waited in the exam room for the doctor to come. It was a super quick and again hurried visit. Told us she would swab for strep and flu. They swabbed for strep only and then came back and did flu swab. This visit was very disorganized and I felt like we didn't matter. Maybe very short staffed? The first nurse who swabbed my son was excellent. Making small chit chat and talked to my son. Second swab was the first nurse and she was in and out in a hurry. I know this place gets bad reviews but we never had an awful experience like we had today. We have had our range of pretty good to just ok visits at this place. I am hoping this visit was just a bad fluke and off day. If I need to come back, I will update my review depending on the experience I have. read more

Okay. I've think I've waited long enough to approach this whole disaster with a cooler head. So here goes. As this review is reliant on both specific circumstance and context, I suggest reading my preceding, although heated, review. I finally did get in contact with the Rockwall location about the mysterious bill a few days after receiving it, although still no answer at the corporate billing facility. The nurse/receptionist who answered the phone looked into my problem right away and assured me that something was wrong, I didn't owe them anymore funds. She promised to get in contact with the billing department herself to straighten this out. Still wary, I requested her to call me back with any information once the problem had been dealt with. Thought I appreciate this one employee's great attempt in customer service, she didn't really call me back. I was only contacted a week or so later after someone at the Rockwall office discovered my original review on this site. Via voicemail, however, this same individual assured me that the problem had been discovered and the error was being dealt with, as several account had been affected company wide. Even though I was promised a zeroed out balance in the mail, I have not received such a document. To be fair, I have not received any more bills or overdue notices, but one has to wonder if all damage of such an error - say, to my credit report - has been repaired. Honestly I should have called them back to check on the status of the whole thing and a zeroed out balance in paper form for proof, but I'm still a little miffed on the whole subject. My special circumstance aside though, here is what I envision any other patient/customer can expect from Rockwall Urgent Care: The nurse staff is incredibly friendly and sympathetic, in face the most caring and kind doctor's staff I have ever come across. The whole establishment runs efficiently and so far this is the shortest wait I have ever had to see a doctor, paperwork included. The doctor, even though taking awhile to appear (which is something all doctors seem to do, so why count off?) was nice enough and did his job, but the lack of an established medical relationship with a recurring patient leaves something to be lacking in an experience someone like me finds rather intimate. Under normal circumstances the fees and charges are straight upfront, and they accept an extremely large array of insurance policies. But, of course, this is a company chain, meaning centralized offices and billing departments, so prepare for any snags that come with that drawback. Under current circumstances I will award Rockwall Urgent Care 3 stars, even though I'm feeling for of a 2.5 or 2.75. The only thing really holding them back from 4 or even 5 stars is 1.) Maybe just a little more effort in getting in contact with me to remedy an original lack of customer service with that billing error and 2.) Actually sending me the zeroed out bill as proof of everything being fixed. Overall, if you're in need of quick non-emergency care or your current doctor's office has gotten on your last nerve, I'd say give this place a try. The friendliness of the staff alone is well worth it, and it's a hell of a lot less red tape than the emergency room, even with my special circumstance. read more

I went to Rockwall Urgent Care to get x-rays that were ordered by my rheumatologist. It didn't make sense to me, either. But, I had contacted my insurance company and RUC is where they wanted me to go. I called RUC to find out if I needed to make an appointment for x-rays and was told to just walk in. I specifically said my doctor has ordered x-rays...I still had my doubts as I left work and drove to the Urgent Care facility...When I arrived the young woman who greeted me at the front desk was courteous and gracious. But, she was confused by the doctor's order I handed her. She asked the lady next to her what it was. "We don't do that!" was her response as she handed the order back to her. I tried to explain all the things: insurance company, phone conversation. But, her repeated response was the same, "We don't do that!" I understand they're not set up to take x-rays for other doctors. That makes more sense to me than everything that led me there. But, in a world where everything seems hard, can't we just be kind? Really, how hard is it to be kind? It would have made a huge difference in my day for her to say, "I'm so sorry for the miscommunication, but we aren't set up to do this." Just a tiny little bit of compassion would have made such a difference. The doctors there may be wonderful, but I'll never know because one employee at the front desk lacked the ability to treat a frustrated older woman with a little human kindness. And, I'll not subject myself to that again. read more

I went in with a bad reaction to poison ivy. The PA didn't prescribe a full course of medication. They don't do refills. I get to try a different clinic that will hopefully prescribe a full treatment. FWIW, they were friendly, fast, and pleasant. It wasn't a terrible experience, but a second appointment is highly disappointing. read more

Came here to get a X-ray on my husbands foot we check in at 1215 with 3 people in front of us got called back at 1245 didnt see a doctor until 145 to take X-ray then it took them another hour to give the us results. Unacceptable please do not waste your time coming to this location. Staff has no time management skills & poor business operations. read more

I made the mistake of coming in urgently 10 mins before they closed because I fainted and had a bad rash all over my body and as soon as we walked in the MA at the front desk made it clear that she was hoping not to get any more patients. I filled out my paperwork and was seen pretty quickly but the Physician that saw me came in and ALSO seemed like he was in a hurry to get out because he told me that the flu test has a 50/50 chance of being accurate so there's no point in doing it. Asked me if I had ever had anemia to explain my fainting but didn't bother CHECKING. He did nothing else to explain why I was fainting but he did look up the side effects of my medication through GOOGLE on his CELL PHONE. I could have done that at home. My rash was itchy and burning but he didn't look at it! I don't think they understand that I don't wanna be there as much as they do. If a patient comes in it's because they actually need medical attention. I was sent home and told to rest. No bloodwork, testing, or medication. Just google answers. read more

I hurt my wrist and they diagnosed it as a fracture and put a hard splint/cast on it. The cast was not put on correctly and has caused numbness in my finger that I'm dealing with now. I would go to a walk in ortho clinic if I have another bone injury. They only had one Dr. to see everyone so the wait is hours in a very, very small waiting room. They don't take temps so those with fever and coughing are not isolated. Inferior care and and Covid protocols. read more

This group has a branch location in Plano. My last visit was for Bronchitis. They were great. Courteous & friendly, the check-in process was fast & efficient, the Doctor who treated me was thorough and made sure I was understanding everything she was telling me, she answered all my questions and was very nice. The check-out process was just as fast and efficient and I was out the door in 37 minutes. This will definitely be my first choice next time I'm sick! read more

I checked in at 10:30 and was told it would be about a 30-45 minute wait. I finally got back to a room around 12 after watching people walk in and get treated immediately. I sat in the room for 30 minutes waiting for a doctor and had to go ask the nurse when I would be seen. I came in for cold like symptoms and ear pain. Took way to long to be seen. Great and friendly service. My daughter was running a 102 degree fever on Saturday afternoon and feeling lousy. We called and the staff said that they could get her in quickly. The waiting room was very clean and homey and the staff was friendly and helpful. We got in quickly and after a thorough checkout, found that she had the flu. I went to Urgent Care the other day because I was feeling horrible, mostly beacause of a super sore throat. I waited for a long time and when I finally saw Amy Parker PA she took less than five minutes to say I had sinusitis. I never had such a quick exam done in my life! I was unsatisfied with my visit, so I went for a second opinion and after a THOROUGH examination I found out I had strep throat! I am glad I found out because my stubborn husband who hates going to doctors now had a reason to go. We found out he had it too!! Also, once I found out I had strep throat I was able to be extra cautious around my son and others since strep throat is highly contagious during the first 24 hours. Even though the PA had prescribed me antibiotics, I feel that she was too hurried and not present when examining me. I was disappointed, mostly because I work hard just so I can have health insurance and to be able to pay for my copay, so I expect to receive a THOROUGH examination! I have never wrote a bad review on a healthcare provider, so you can imagine how dissappointed I was with this visit to take the time to write this review. My past visits here were fine, so I may return, I'll just request someone else to do my exam. read more

Asked how much doctors visit would be and they would not provide information. Front desk associates were rude. The nurse who took me back couldn't remember what i had said and kept asking me the same questions on my paper work. Doctor was in and out. Barely spoke English. Went in because I landed wrong playing ball. My heel/ankle was killing me, I asked for x raid just to be sure it wasn't anything crazy. The doctor came in and told me I didn't need any that the pain will be gone in a week. Two weeks later here I am still in pain! If someone ask for something and they are paying you money, maybe you should listen to there request and not just ignore them! Do not waste your time or money. Went in on Sunday afternoon after wakibg up with what I thought was a cold but my heart was racing. We waited 30 minutes, went back, given a covid test-positive. So far fine. However, PA said I will call in cough medicine and inhaler. Then told me to go home and if i had shorteness of breath or pain in legs or side (could be blood clots) go to ER. I said, that's it? I have asthma. My husband asked was there anything else they could give me? Monoclonal antibody treatment? Nope. Not available. Go home and wait. We left upset. Few minutes later realized they called the wrong pharmacy, and I said that Is ridiculous!! I want proactive care as I have asthma. We drove to Tyler to Hospitality ER. They provided excellent care! Kept me overnight and I was home Monday and feeling much better! The staff was great! Need good care? It's worth a drive somewhere else. I will NEVER go to this establishment again. Like everyone else, I don't WANT to go to an urgent care, but when I NEED to go, then Rockwall Urgent Care is my favorite choice. I've been there five times in the last 2 years, mostly for UTIs, and once when I had over 350 Chigger bites (yikes!). When I arrive at Rockwall Urgent Care I always feel awful, but the women at the reception desk are friendly and quick to help. The lobby is unusually comfortable, with plush seating, natural light from the windows, and plenty of interesting magazines & a TV to distract me from my discomfort. I usually wait only about 15 minutes, or less, before being called by a nurse. The nurses are always so empathetic and caring that I know I'm in good hands. I never have to wait long before a doctor comes in to talk to me. The doctors give the same kind and professional service as the rest of the staff. And although I may not always feel immediately better physically, they send me home with emotional comfort that is rarely seen in urgent care services. I've even been pleasantly surprised by a follow-up phone call a few days later to see how I'm doing! Wow! Rockwall Urgent Care is the best place in Rockwall to get fast, kind, professional care when it's needed most. read more

Don't go here if it's urgent as their sign advertises/implies they can provide, "Urgent Care". They will send you to the ER anyway. Disappointed. My wife is a nurse, all we needed was a dose of epinephrine. They would not let us in citing lack of meds. In my opinion this seems like a very flimsy excuse for An Extended Hours Dr's facility with no patients at that time and a full staff sitting around. I'd be happy to withdraw this feedback if there is irrefutable evidence that they cannot treat urgent patients, or if their advice will always be to refer patients with timely needs to the ER anyway. I'd advise they take urgent care out of their advertising and state after hours non-urgent care. read more

I do not suggest using the Royse City location. I went there 10 days ago and was diagnosed with Flu with no testing at all and now 10 days out I am still sick. I reached out to them and they basically just told me to come back and they will look again. Look again that is funny that is all you did the first time and that is why I am still sick. Who diagnoses patients with flu that doesn't even test you for flu. Waste of my money and time and doesn't want to try to make it right. Don't come here if you need real care. My relative went for dizziness, loss of balance, ringing in the ear, headache and nausea thinking it was vertigo but wanted to get a diagnosis. Was tested for COVID to rule it out because he had a headache and nausea...... no cough no fever no exposure no loss of taste or smell... we all know what the symptoms are by now.... his blood pressure was 175/110 and no one said anything about it. Then, whoever saw him told him to go to Baylor Sunnyvale ER specifically to go get IV with saline for dehydration! Like seriously, are these people really licensed to treat patients? We had to call this clinic back to ask if it could possibly be vertigo vs dehydration and was told yes, so they wait until we provided our own diagnosis to agree and only then did they mention the high blood pressure. Just diagnose yourselves or go to a real doctor. Save your time and money. read more

I have never written a bad review, ever. Front Desk person was great, very pleasant and courteous, and I didn't have to wait long, so that was good. The 'provider' I saw looked in my throat, period. Never felt for the swollen glands in my neck, never listened to my lungs, ears, nothing. Said it's not strep, which I already knew. Said he would call in a gargle gel prescription and told me I could mix it with children's liquid benadryl if I wanted it thinner, etc...... Pharmacy never received. I called them back near closing, and waited on the line for 14 minutes. Front desk person told me she spoke to my provider and he didn't prescribe me anything, said he told me to gargle with salt water. I told her that wasn't true, so she put me on hold, then came back and said he had sent it in, but it didn't go through, they would send again. Never got any type of summary paperwork either, but maybe that's the new norm. read more

After posting my original review with a 1-star rating, I was contacted by someone affiliated with the management of this company. He was able to determine the date of my last visit and provide information on the doctor who treated me and the office worker who I interacted with (both no longer with the company). I was very impressed with this person's sincerity and genuine concern for the poor experience I had. He was extremely professional and apologetic and assured me that the wait time was unacceptable and even provided his personal cell number in case I ever decided to use them again and encounter a problem. Needless to say, I was extremely impressed and struck by this person's willingness to take ownership of my unfortunate experience. I will try this business again the next time an opportuntiy arises and look forward to revising my review to something more befitting and if it's anything like the interaction I had with this gentleman, it will be a 5-star rating! read more

Tube of "something" that didn't make it into the bio hazardous waste can was on the counter when we entered room 3. The wait was extremely long and to top it off, the nurse took a swab of my son's throat without wearing gloves or washing her hands after handling the mystery tube!!!! The doctor was very friendly explaining it was a busy day....... perhaps that's why it was a tad unsanitary. My first time here.... Don't think I'll come back unless I have no options. read more

Amazing! On a Sunday 30 minutes until close I came in with a severe foot sprain though at the time I thought it might be broken. They got me in an out in 45 minutes! They kindly transported me in via wheelchair inside. The only complaint I have is a heavy set older white nurse was helping me put my boot on and she pushed my foot back into the boot. This hurt enough for me to yelp out in pain and she didn't even apologize. But a nice black nurse really made up for it. read more
