Rarely have I been to catered affairs that produce 5-star experiences, but Chef Kenny shined last…read morenight at the first party I've ever had at my Florida home. I've been in North Palm Beach for seven years and been to many catered events that have all been good but so typical and predictable. Chef Kenny on the other hand picked a menu for 15 families of the Benjamin High School tennis team's annual party. Chef Kenny set up everything three hours prior to 6:30 dinner with no complications and everything ran beautifully. He was told about 40 people would come but we had over 50 and everyone, teens, kids and adults all well satisfied. Simple fresh healthy ingredients made up salads, little dumplings that must have been tasty because they all disappeared before I tried one! Other appetizers all delicious and well received. Soft tacos were Chef Kenny's pick for entrees that seemed a little risky to me, but he knows what works in these large outdoor settings. Luscious fish (didn't ask for species but was moist fresh flaky Grouper-like), chicken and other meats were ingredient choices for his "gourmet tacos". Sides of cheese, salsa, exceptional roasted red peppers and cooked onion were over the top and so simple and easy for everyone to take what they wanted served the way each liked. I never heard so many compliments for such simple fare that was so perfectly prepared and served. Largoasted potatoes were another simple food prepared and spiced to perfection by our culinary institute trained chef. Chef Kenny is best kept secret in South Florida in my opinion for such events, pricing was very fair, outdoor set-up, clean-up and break-down was efficient and well coordinated and didn't interfere with festivities. I don't know who recommended him to my wife, but I know who to call next time I'm having a little party and don't want any headaches worrying about the food not being great.

Dealing with the county can be a hassle but Mariyln helped me obtain all the necessary permits. Delivery and set up was on time without problems. The trailers had both a men and women's side with three stalls on, each side. IT was clean, air conditioned and even had piped in music. The generator that ran the trailer was so quiet you did not know that it was there. IT was a great addition to our reception and the guests loved it. Great service, great detail to all the little details. Wedding can be such a hassle but this rental was hassle free.

We also had last minute adjustments to the program that he accommodated gracefully. We had a fusion wedding (I am Bengali and my husband is white american) and Varun was able to tie in western and desi music perfectly. In fact, Janet and Varun specialize in Desi fusion weddings as they are a mixed couple themselves!! They knew exactly what we needed and understood our needs. They also also made a "Varun mix" of our final song which I loved!!! We had a blast. We hired Tewari Productions for their DJ services and photobooth, but if I had to do it all over again I would have used them for many other aspects of our wedding. We had to scramble on the day of the event to borrow chairs from friends. When I raised the issue, the response was dismissive. After several emails, they admitted they had gone through their inventory but still offered nothing for the unusable chairs. When I requested a discount for a future event, I was told to inspect every chair myself at pick-up and that 'no discount would be given.' How can they completely dismiss me after I was willing to give them another chance? As a retired hospitality professional, in Palm Beach, I find this level of customer service unacceptable. I recommend choosing another rental company that values its customers and ensures proper quality inspections.

They have a gigantic warehouse filled with every over the top prop you can think of. Once Cameron looked at the pictures I brought, he ran ideas by me and then came up with a plan for the day. It was a spectacular "look". The other preferred vendors on The Breakers list offered proposals but they didn't have that cohesive look that took the ideas from nice to Wow. Special Event Resource did. Once they were hired, we worked together for a few weeks and on the day of the wedding, we continued to be Wow(ed) all day. From the church flowers, to the cocktail hour, to the reception, to the afterparty, we were excited when we walked in each room and everyone, including me, was left speechless with a "Wow". My second daughter just got engaged and I am looking forward to working again with Cameron Keating and Special Event Resource.
