I fell…read morethat it must be done though due tot he nature of the shelter and the specific individual involved. The unprofessionalism and plain rudeness displayed Devon Peterson was by far the worst I have ever encountered. She was hostile, vulgar and quite frankly a bull. She was dishonest and belligerent to deal with and the fact that she is the coordinator of the facility is unbelievable. I will be addressing my concerns with the board members as well as the community. I worry about the treatment of the animals because her level of aggression towards humans was troubling and I worry for theanimals who can't speak up for them selves.

Dr. Nicole and the entire staff are so kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. Our three dogs, Squirt, Diesel, and Scout, are treated like family every time we come in. The clinic has such a calm, welcoming atmosphere--it puts both pets and owners at ease. We finally feel confident and comfortable knowing our dogs are in the best possible hands. A huge thank you to Abby for thoroughly explaining all of Scout's post-op needs and especially for loving on her all day! We're so grateful to have found this amazing practice. Highly recommend to anyone looking for compassionate, top-notch veterinary care!

We are sharing this experience so other families understand the importance of proactive, early discussion of preventive options when GDV risk is present. 4/21/26 I am writing this with a heavy heart to provide a factual account of our recent experience at Stewart's Animal Hospital. My hope is that this honesty helps the clinic improve and assists other families in their decision-making. Over the last 18 months, we noticed a shift in the clinic's atmosphere. The front staff often appeared burdened by inquiries, and we faced significant challenges regarding insurance claims that were only resolved after repeated follow-ups. More concerningly, we experienced two instances where medical advocacy was required on our part. First, during a urinary emergency, I had to request the appropriate medication myself after the focus remained on a secondary muscle strain. Most recently, following an ER visit for bloat, we requested the preventative surgery recommended by specialists. We were advised by Dr. Stewart to 'wait and see.' Unfortunately, this led to a catastrophic 360-degree stomach torsion. Our pet is now fighting for his life with aspiration pneumonia and a 60% survival rate. When I spoke with Dr. Stewart, she apologized for not being more aggressive, though there was a misunderstanding regarding whether the procedure had been offered (it had not). I take my own share of responsibility for not seeking a second opinion, but I feel it is my duty to share that the conservative approach taken here resulted in a preventable life-threatening emergency. We bear no ill will, but we believe transparency is necessary for the wellbeing of other animals in our community.

They advertise such an intriguing invite ad to make an appointment for your sweet furry child, then after calling, I was immediately shut down- not taking any "new clients" too busy, not enough groomers to help her. Well, can you hire some help? I mean I could have waited a month maybe. But, I am not going to be put on a waiting list. It's Feb. I thought I was getting a head start for my dog's annual spring trim. I could have waited a month or so...But, No- "no more new clients" just did not feel so good to hear. Sounded kinda-snobby. Not even an ounce of hope of being able to use this service. Like- maybe a month or so out...? Just left me sad. I have honestly, never heard any groomer say that- just such a turn off- so disappointing after you get really excited about a new place to take your dog. A beautiful, well-behaved and loving one too...Oh well, her loss...and with her lack of care in her tone of voice---maybe not a good place for my dog after all. ;(
