Blue Oaks Cremation and Burial Services hurt our family through carelessness. Although all…read morepaperwork given to them was correct, checked and rechecked, they misspelled our mother's name on the death certificate. It takes months for a correction to be made. Without the accurate death certificate absolutely nothing can be done. We cannot cancel and close accounts, we cannot invest, take dividends, or set up the trust account that is required. We cannot take the steps needed with the lawyer to file with the court, and there is a deadline for that. We cannot grieve without her will and wishes being realized. We would never recommend Blue Oaks to anyone and will warn as many people as we can about their negligence.

I visit this cemetery regularly and find it poorly maintained for a historic but still-active…read morecemetery. While the landscaping is spruced up just prior to an event or holiday, this isn't the cemetery's regular look. Too often, bermuda grass is allowed to overtake markers, weeds are high, and fallen branches are left on the ground for weeks. Plus, perhaps because there's a large sign across from the office that states the cemetery district isn't responsible for damage done to grave sites, the landscape crew takes no care with heavy equipment around flat gravestones -- driving over them, parking on them. Grieving families paid a lot for those markers! The old section of the cemetery, sadly, is especially lacking in maintenance, with concrete edging crumbling and broken headstones left unrepaired. Maybe Roseville Cemetery District can take a page from Sacramento City Cemetery and recruit volunteers to help care for this historic cemetery before its history is destroyed.

Everything else was there except for the rosary. I looked around and noticed that there were rosaries on other graves but I guess because mine wasn't plastic and had shiny crystals someone just had to have it. I bought that rosary from my church. People came from Bethlehem to sell things during mass that they made in the holy land and I bought it specifically for my parents' grave. I guess you can't even trust a Catholic cemetery. Just a warning: Do not put anything of sentimental value on the graves at this place. There are obviously thieves there happily looting the graves. Ridiculous. It could have been anyone: a patron visiting another grave, a person the cemetery hired from the outside, an employee, a groundskeeper. Who knows? You would think that theft wouldn't happen in a place like this. From now on I'm just putting fake flowers on the grave now that I know there are thieves that come to this place. What kind of person steals things off someone's grave? Just unbelievable. My parents deserve better.

Please see Sarah L.'s review to see her sorry response to my mother and Drew O.'s review to see how Diane, from the same office, also cremated this person's family member AND spread the ashes without informing the family. It looks like Savannah is still responding to reviews but my mom's review here on Yelp magically disappeared. Interesting. As for the response to my current review, apology not accepted. I'm pretty sure you've been instructed to finally respond to this review almost a week later in the succinct manner you've written, probably to keep yourself from saying anything else inappropriate such as using my sister's full name, doubling down in your lies, and calling this whole situation an "inconvenience". Obviously, nothing can undo what's been done so I contemplated not even responding, but this whole experience was so awful, no other family should risk going through this. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. One family going through something like should be enough for a re-work but it seems that this is just a business transaction at the end of the day. Even their "apologies" are nothing more than a required response from corporate so they don't risk the chance of getting sued. Multiple conversations occurred in my attempts to gain clarity on where communication broke down. Not a single apology was given over the phone or in person. An apology over Yelp is a joke.
