I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but how me, my husband and parents were treated on our special day was horrible. I give the venue props very beautiful, my flowers were beautiful, some places they were only one flower I asked for but hey they were still beautiful, bartender amazing and the photographer was as well. Those people get 5 stars. My day started with a bunch of cars when I arrived at 11am and my day of coordinator Bonnie no where to be found. People I did not know walking through my already set up wedding with my personal items, when I was told 2 different times I would have the venue to myself, the people there was actually there for their rehearsal. A warning would of been nice and for them to only use the mens bathroom to not disturb me and my party. Two of my guests fell in the parking lot because it was too dark, we were told those lights come on when it gets dark. (Would of been a big liability if my two guests got really hurt). So, bonnie was asked about lights and gave attitude and gave attitude multiple times. The lights ended up getting turned on, and bonnie asked who did it and said she was not going to tell anyone. Well she told the owners who did it and as my husband and I are trying to have some fun before we rush out they call us out in front of everyone to talk about the lights again. My DJ was told 30 minutes prior by someone at the venue that we needed to rush things along and leave. So by the time they singled us out to say we weren't being kicked out it was already too late. We did everything backwards so we could just hall butt. I would never recommend this place. Bonnie ended up being m.i.a a lot and she cut my WHOLE cake not leaving the top for us to save. Which I told her that at the day of coordinator meeting. I also made it very clear to her that absolutely no phones to be out until after our first kiss, excpet for my phone for live and my video camera. She told me she would let someone know the day of. Well, I get to the door and start walking and everyone phones are out. I was told by multiple guests that the only thing said was they needed to be silenced. What a beautiful venue you have, but a lot was done to ruin my day and a sorry that you kept on saying was not enough. I spent a lot of money for something so simple to be complained about multiple times and please get someone else as a day of coordinator.. when people tell you we want something done and don't get it. Sorry it ended this way. But my guests safety means more than that. Dale you were awesome thank you for fixing the microwave and fridge. I usually don't complain, but I wanted to leave right when I realized a rehearsal was being done and then bonnie kept going m.i.a through out night. I pray I'm the only bride that pays a lot to feel like she doesn't belong there. No bride should ever deal with this.. Oh and not to mention yo1u guys were told my dad was demanding lights in anger. I know my dad better than that and that is not like him, but he did ask bonnie and she said she couldn't and then finally got the owners when light was already on, maybe if she told my dad she was getting someone to turn the light on it wouldnt of been an issue. . Not to mention the ac was off and when my dad said "please turn on the ac" he was told "the ac is not needed to be on it's cool outside" as his poor daughter the bride is hot.... We did not know until Sunday 2 guest fell! read more

I'm kind of disgusted. Actually, REALLY disgusted! We had an appointment with a venue today we REALLY liked just to get a call back this morning to say "Oh I'm sorry Amanda, we don't allow same-sex marriages to be done here" Are YOU serious???? This is actually the first time we have even encountered discrimination like this and it really hurt. Sadly enough, there has been numerous Facebook reviews put on their page to let people know how awful these people are, and they keep deleting them. Really??? So you are going to mislead people AND DISCRIMINATE???? Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I am sad to say that this is the first wedding venue that refused to serve my partner and I. After a long conversation with Susan, I corrected her saying "the groom" and then was told that they don't allow same sex weddings. They have been fined for this by their local government, but still continue the practice. LGBT couples, don't waste your time so you don't end up shaken like I was. read more

Just experienced my son getting married at this venue this past week. All started well, from my perspective; attractive venue, quaint cottage on site for wedding prep, & fairly good rehearsal facilitated by venue staff (albeit rushed). Problems seemed to sprout up, however, when rain postponed use of the outdoor space by 30 minutes. Then there was no Wi-Fi for the DJ (father of the bride) which he was apparently not told about until the day before. As dinner was served after the ceremony I went through the line half-way through all the guests, & was told the BBQ chicken was already gone. No biggie to me, as I devoured the pulled pork, but later, during clean up, found two full trays of chicken not served. At the bar, venue staff apparently used the 200 lbs of ice for icing down the two beer kegs on sodas, & began adding ice cubes to served beer that was warming. Then some groomsmen were told the beer was gone; only to find two half full kegs of warming beer at the end of the night (losing over $100 worth of beer my son, the groom, purchased). As the festivities were on-going, venue staff started clearing the tables; taking plates with food, glasses with beer & champagne and dumping them. My son had specifically told me he wanted his & his wife's food packed to go so they could still eat. When I told Bonnie, the venue planner, that as she cleared the Sweetheart Table, she replied the bride & groom could eat leftovers, and refused to leave their plates or pack their food up. In the end, I heard complaints that the DJ, guests, the Minister, and the groom were treated rudely. My son's wedding was our event of a lifetime. It is a shame that venue staff treated it as just another day for making money, & seemed more concerned with going home than creating magic for my son & daughter-in-law. read more

Worst customer service I ever had. My partner and I put our information in an received an email with all the packages. Then once they found out we were a lesbian couple they told us they couldn't have those types of weddings at their location. After trying to call them back several times they refused to answer us and our emails. read more

Extremely disgusted with this place. I had heard such incredible things about this venue because quite a few people we know have used them. Not to mention the other people who "were" planning on using them. I reached out to for my vow renewal. I've been married for 6 years now. All was fine till I asked if they had ever hosted a same sex wedding. Susan took a day to respond and said they didn't host same sex weddings. Excuse me? You do know it's 2019 and same sex weddings are legal in all 50 states! That law was passed a few years ago. I will say this was a first as I have not encountered ANY venues thankfully that have turned us away!!! If this isn't discrimination, I don't know what is. This place isn't even worth the hype from what I've read and from other reviews this isn't the first time this had happened. I have made sure to let everyone I know who wanted to reach out to the rocking l ranch not to waste their money and go elsewhere! read more

I was very interested in this venue for my wedding, we had set up a time and day to go look at the place. I decided ahead of time to send an email asking if they were comfortable with same sex marriages. She sent me back an extensive email. It basically said, No. It is disappointing to me as a human being, that I can't have my wedding at a place that has every aspect of what I was looking for. What an awesome place to have a wedding! The owner Susan Landfried is top notch! She did such an amazing job setting up EVERYTHING for our son and his wife! She has hired a new caterer that is amazing and he made the Bride and groom top priority and then took care of the guest to everyone's satisfaction! His food is delicious! The florist did fresh spring wild flowers along with roses and they were breathtaking! The DJ was absolutely on point! He kept the guests dancing and having a wonderful time! Susan also hooked us girls up with hair and makeup... The list goes on! I would absolutely recommend this amazing and gorgeous venue to everyone!! Literally all you need to do is buy your clothes and they do the rest!! Susan can even get you hooked up with honeymoon packages!! I just can't express how wonderful the Rocking L Ranch is and how much ALL of our children's guests enjoyed this Marvelous Venue!! read more

Not one to really take the time to write reviews, but seeing as it was such an important day, I figured others should have the chance to make an informed decision. For starters, the venue is very cute. It cleaned up nicely and our decorations looked great. My wife picked the place while I was deployed overseas and the pictures match up perfectly. So now let's get down to the nitty gritty. Upon arrival, the owners told me I shouldn't have been dropping off kegs the day before and assumed because of my old truck and tattoos that I wasn't in fact the groom. It wasn't until I was formally introduced by my wife that they apologized for mistaking for what I can only assume was a criminal based on treatment. Once the coordinator arrived, we had quite an easy time with the rehearsal and decorating. Bonnie was initially quite helpful. The day of the wedding arrived and once again Bonnie and Susan were initially quite helpful. Set up was relatively smooth despite bands of rain coming and going throughout the day. As the rain continued on, the stress piled on my bride as the owner began insisting the ceremony take place in the barn and not in the ceremony place. My Reverend, a family friend, insisted that the ceremony take place where the bride wanted and myself and the mother of the bride agreed. Susan, explained all the reasons why we should just continue on schedule and have the wedding in the barn, despite our objections. With an attitude, Susan submitted to the will of the bride, and we postponed the ceremony until the bands of rain broke. But not before telling my Reverend, who forcefully spoke in favor of the brides wishes, that she was no longer welcome. With only enough cloth to cover the first two rows, we sat our patrons down and awaited the ceremony to start. Myself and groomsmen preceded the bridesmaids which were the cue for the music, however our DJ had spoken several times to the venue and wasn't alerted to a lack of wifi until a day prior. The bridesmaids walk down silent and we all wait on the contingency to kick in. The bride took 5 minutes after them. My Reverend performed a perfect ceremony and we walked back to the end of the barn for photos during cocktail hour. However the staff did not enforce the cocktail hour and despite instructions otherwise, our guests wandered to their seats instead of staying near the bar and dance floor. We took our photo's as our guests meandered to their seats. I, along with my groomsmen needed to assist Bonnie in getting people for photos being that expedience wasn't her priority and the sun was setting. Other hiccups forced our introduction to be postponed, so without consultation they began serving food. After finally making it in and to our table, my wife and I ate last and had to have a friend being us a plate being that we had to handle a lot of what Bonnie could and should have been doing. I finally make it up for my first beer to enjoy with my now cooling meal, only to find the bartenders had filled pitchers and dumped ice in. They were serving people beer with ice cubes. I immediately found Bonnie and explained what I saw and she said she had given the go ahead because the beer was beginning to warm. I had purchased 200 lbs of ice and the bartenders had frivolously wasted it in the soda coolers instead of continually icing the kegs as instructed, so they were forced to take the dirty ice from the coolers to make the pitchers of beer slightly cooler. I had much more but I guess Help as well as Google have character limits. But it ended with Bonnie scolding two combat veterans and myself (a veteran) and accusing them of lying. The lights getting cut off as our guest were still leaving. My wife and my food being tossed before we even ate but half of our food. And my wife having to cue the DJ into the next segment because our coordinator was busy bussing tables with full drinks and plates, but hey at least the barn looked nice. read more
