Markets are Saturdays from 9am-1pm and feature tons of amazing produce grown right here at Kai-Kai. This produce is such high quality, and you can absolutely taste the freshness of everything they grow. They have many veggies you probably haven't heard of, wonderful lettuce varieties, kales galore, fresh herbs, and more. One cool thing I love that they do is include an info card next to the lesser known veggies, giving you flavor profiles and eating ideas... such a nice touch! There are also a few other vendors here: bread by Johnny features sourdough in many flavors and baguettes, a cheese woman who is so lovely, a spices/oils table, and a few other rotating vendors. The main focus at this market is absolutely the Kai-Kai veggies! This is designer produce at a very reasonable price. They accept cards and cash. Diane is the lady who runs the show - she's petite but mighty and is a wonderful human! The farm also has event dinners with chefs from all around the area - some are wine dinners and some are chef demonstrations dinners. The owner lady, Diane, was marvelous in telling us all about her clean farming methods, companion crop planting, good stewardship of the earth, how she came to have this 40 (?) acre farm. The tour was very interesting and tasty, as she let us try the different greens that are grown there. After the tour, we settled down for a delightful lunch prepared by the chef from a nearby restaurant named Ellies Cafe (?). Started with Butternut squash soup, which I am not usually a fan of any squash soups, but it was great, served with a freshly baked crouton. Then we had a chicken breast with a wonderful sauce, and a bean salad, broccolini salad that was superb, and a tossed mixed green salad with watermelon radish. It was all so good, that I had to clean my plate... absolutely had to. After that, we were treated to a dessert of a 2 layer cake made with fresh raspberries and strawberries and a whip cream like frosting. All the components of our lunch (except maybe the chicken, I think) were grown at KaiKai Farms. Before we left, we had a chance to purchase some fresh produce and local honey that they also have. I prepared the broccolini the next night and it was marvelous. The drive out to KaiKai is not too bad, I actually arrived there in less time than I thought. They have a farmers market every Saturday from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm. Definitely check out their website or facebook page as they have chef curated dinners (from local restaurants) scheduled that I am sure are well worth the drive. This same experience in my hometown probably would've been upwards $150. The only additional thing you have to pay for animal-wise is the cows. Which will run you $5 for five minutes or $10 for 10 minutes. Just do it, they're perfect. There are two cows they are so sweet. They are named John and Boots. You also get to hold the bunnies for free. You get to feed the goats for free and you get to go into their enclosures and literally just hang out with goats for like 10 minutes. It's all self paced too! Make sure you try the pizza place as well it was elite! Only downside about this place was that there weren't any reptiles :( Overall, 1000/10 can't wait to come back to Florida and visit again next year!

The interior storefront is part ice cream store, part candy shop, and part open seating. It connects directly to Bambini's pizzeria, which is takeout only. However, the open seating is the perfect spot to eat that pizza. Old fashioned looking booths and tables are made even more fun with a ceiling full of vintage toys and interesting items. My kids spent the whole time pointing at things they saw. In the front, there is a table with paper products and pizza fixings. You don't have to eat inside though - there is also eating outside. A small backdoor is the secret entrance to their amazing backyard space- full of tropical plants, statues, some covered tables (although not covered during heavy rain). To go beyond this, you must pay a fee- to see their animals. A very old school florida spot! It was raining so we weren't able to go this time, but my kids loved looking at all the vintage things and drooling over a million candies, that it was fun just being there.

Well look no further than LaPorte Farms. Located in the Roseland area of the Treasure Coast which meets up with the southern most point of the Space Coast, LaPorte Farms (which I will shorthand to LaPorte) is an open farm consisting of a wide array of animals to see and activities to do. Designed in which everything can be seen or experience in one or two hours tops sans any major events, LaPorte is both entertaining and educational, especially for children. Starting with the animals, there are plenty of pens and large birdcage enclosures featuring many kinds of animals of both domestic farm life and... well... more "exotic" farm life. They have horses, chickens, and pigs, but also have llamas, turtles, bearded lizard, and lemurs. To add to the fun, they have named some of their animals as seen on their "Critters" Tab on their official website. Next, the activities are catered towards children and overall family experience. On site, there is a little library where you can "leave a book, take a book." This is definitely an excellent way to prepare for the Reading Challenge LaPorte hosts. Plenty of photo opportunities to be made which includes photography props including a face-cutout picture board and a "jailhouse." There is a section for little kids to ride spring rocking horses, which is a toy I haven't seen in ages. Finally off the top of my head, there are also pony rides and train rides for $5.00 per kid to partake in. Outside of the basic on site activities, LaPorte hosts many events including fishing tournaments and summer camps. They are often active in their community via their non-profit, Friends of LaPorte Farms. As a matter of fact, as of the publication of this review, LaPorte recently won the business of the month given to them by the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce. Finally, the main house, sells food, drink, and gifts. Guests can buy packets of food to feed the critters on the farm (no outside food please), packages of eggs laid from their hens, and even honey and soap from other local businesses LaPorte are friends with. The two unique "events" the main house has is the Reading Challenge in which families can sign up their kids to partake in, and the "Pray for the Troops" box filled with toy soldiers. Overall, LaPorte is a very fun place to visit with the family. I expect such a place would be interesting to see during certain holidays such as 4th of July and Christmas. Gives reason to return for guests. For now, giving LaPorte four out of five stars. Everything is excellent, but the fifth star shall be earned if LaPorte is consistent. P.S. - LaPorte Farms is one of the locations to visit in the Treasure Coast Kids Quest for Indian River County. Families can go to the official website and/or obtain a passport from the main house at LaPorte or the Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce. I have suffered from osteoarthritis for several years, have bulging discs and spend most days in pain. I have taken opioids for pain but I don't want to take pills the rest of my life, I use sea extracts to relieve pain, which are expensive and sleep with a heating pad every night because the pain is severe; I refer to it as "screaming" I purchased the CBD lotion bar today and late in the afternoon my pain was severe so I rubbed the stick on my neck, within 45 seconds the pain was gone; I couldn't believe it, it lasted for hours. I am going to bed without my heating pad. I Can't remember the last time that happened. To be in constant pain every day and then to suddenly be pain free is something I'm still trying to believe. If you have pain of any kind you have to try this. I can't believe how fast and how well it works. Pain free without heat or medication, it's miraculous.

I wish I would have gone earlier because the sunflowers seemed slightly wilted and the maze wasn't as full due to the fact that the flowers had been picked during the previous days. It was 10 dollars for admission, parking was free. Since it was due to close you could pick as many flowers as you wanted for 1 dollar each. The field was beautiful and really made for some amazing pictures. I was there for almost two hours and had a blast. They allowed dogs on leashes and even set up a designated area with a photo prop. The only downside was that it was so hot outside and they didn't sell any sort of beverages. The experience was really one of a kind.
