If I could give 10 stars these guys would definitely deserve them. Roscoe was very straight forward and explained how he was going to get the job done. Him and his worker showed up promptly and were mindful of the pandemic by wearing mask which I appreciated a lot. This was the second time I've worked with Rock O'Rooter. The main valve, outside the regulator, and the sprinkler valve were replaced, and a new dishwasher was installed, all in one day. The work involved the Board of Water Supply turning on and off from the street main supply line, and it was a fairly lengthy job involving digging and soldering. Called Roscoe late Sunday afternoon as my kitchen garbage disposal was backing up and water wouldn't drain. Asked what the cost would be on the weekend vs weekday, and believe he said there was no difference in pricing; however, earliest he could come over would be between 10-12 the following morning. Appreciated that he called around 9:20 a.m. Monday to let me know they were on their way, arrived about 9:30; required work was diagnosed quickly, including a loose dishwasher air vent that had caused water puddle under sink (only noticed it when I was clearing area under sink for them to work and started freaking out cuz didn't know where the water had come from)! Neither Roscoe nor his assistant were chatty, but were very cordial and answered all my questions as they worked...work completed and I was invoiced by 10:12 a.m.! Best plumber ever! The hot and cold water valves connected to my washer was leaking. Roscoe responded to my "Request a quote" on Yelp very quickly. Within 24 hours, I received a quote and scheduled the repair. Immediately after, he sent the appointment confirmation. On the day of my appointment, he sent a text notifying me that he was on his way. He arrived promptly and was wearing a mask. He assessed the issue and explained what he needed to do. Roscoe explained he would need to drive back into town to grab a part. He was very respectful of our time and asked if we were okay with him taking the time to drive back to town. When that plumber came out, he put a camera into the line, found something stuck in the pipe, and without trying any thing else, he immediately told me I should replace all my plumbing for $7000. We have "had it!" with large plumbing companies, after having been overcharged for a couple of relatively minor problems. We saw on line that Rock-O-Rooter is independently owned and operated and based in Kaimuki, close to our home, so we placed a call. Rock-O-Rooter (a play on the name of the owner, Roscoe) is a number you should definitely keep handy! Roscoe answered the phone himself, as it rings to his cell. He told us his fees for labor and parts, and let us know what the variables might be. He made arrangement to come as soon as he could. He fixed our problem in a hurry, so he actually charged less than his estimate. But, far from just being a fast and competent fix-it guy, Roscoe was off to his next project, a tear-down home remodel on the other side of town.
