Discovered the Rock and Roll Cafe kind of by accident: my daughter and I were in Point for a basketball tournament and kept driving past the place .. and after two days of fast food and basketball tournament cafeteria grub, we decided it was time for some REAL food! What great atmosphere: even on a Sunday afternoon the owner herself was greeting guests and bussing tables! My daughter got a basic grilled cheese sandwich which she liked, and I got the Cary Grant skillet which was very yummy .. loved the peppers and gravy! Nice place! read more

The Rock and Roll Cafe is a pretty typical diner, looks wise. The menu is a little less typical. I had the Cowboy Benedict, which was a biscuit with a sausage patty and egg, smothered in sausage gravy with a side of American fries. It was soooo gooood. Everything was perfectly cooked, and it had the right amount of gravy. The potatoes were a perfect mix of crispy and soft. And the service was quick and friendly. Good experience overall, and I'd definitely go back to try some of the other menu items. read more

We slid in here on the way from Wausau to Appleton for a fun weekend. I was not impressed with the humble appearance from the exterior of the restaurant, but was blown away by the service, attentiveness and yum-factor of the food. We sat down and were offered drinks. We ordered water and coffee, which was very good and never stopped flowing until we said so. I don't think I ever saw the bottom of my coffee cup! The menu is massive, consisting of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. I had the sausage and bacon omelette with added onions and pepper. This dish came with 2 pancakes and your option of potatoes. I had the hash browns. Everything tasted great! Best pancakes I've had in a while! Finally, the bill arrived and we were pleasantly surprised to note that we both were beyond full with happy tastebuds for less than 25 bucks! Bravo to this place! read more

The place was packed and hopping the entire time! Arrive early! Might not look like much from the outside but is nostalgically decorated inside. Menu is deliciously Mexican but also has plenty of American options as well. We were really happy with it and would come back. Coffee could have been a bit stronger and bloody Mary's would have hit the spot but they didn't sell those. read more

With my waitress watching I was pointing at their senior menu while ordering breakfast. The menu price was $5.99. when I was finished eating the over cooked eggs and burnt bacon, I was handed a bill for $9.99. When I questioned my waitress about the price difference, she got very short with me and said that I failed to tell her I was ordering from the senior meal. This is my second bad experience in as many visits at this restaurant. I WILL NEVER GO BACK OR RECOMEND ROCK & ROLL CAFE TO ANYONE!! read more

Went for lunch to eat some breakfast. Was really happy with the decision. Service was very friendly (especially younger female) and it had a small town diner charm with some Latin inspiration. Ordered the roadkill skillet and biscuits and gravy to split with companion. The food was good (above average) but when I asked for an extra plate, I was told it'd be a dollar "because they have to wash the plate" I get when places do a split charge for actually having a cook/chef divide a single dish for two ppl up but it's absurd for a plate so I can divvy two meals. Road kill was tasty. So was the biscuits and gravy--even though I like mine with a little more kick (pepper and spice) with flakier biscuits (these were almost pancake texture). I definitely would come back (next time for the Friday fish/seafood) but I found this plate policy annoying. read more

Stopped here on my way to a business function based off of previous reviews. The service was friendly and quick and I appreciated the large menu selection and "rock & roll" names. I had a tex-mex type burger with salsa and tortilla chips strips on it that I really enjoyed with a side salad, fries, and a coffee. I did have to ask twice for the coffee, but I had arrived around the same time as a lot of the regulars did for lunch, so it's an easy thing to overlook. The food was simple, but done well and the prices were right. I'd come here again if I was in Point for the day. read more

One waffle with just a few pecans in it. No side item or any thing special on the waffle. I had a better waffle at the Continental breakfast at comfort inn and suites. Came in mid-morning on Sunday and it was packed. A good sign if you ask me. The five of us were sat within 10 minutes and we had one order off the kids menu, one off the senior menu and three regular adult meals. All were good, served hot. Typical diner. Decent food. I ordered biscuits and gravy. If you don't cook the sausage in gravy the gravy just tastes like flour and this sausage gravy tasted just like flour. Biscuits were good and soft. I recommend ordering something else off the menu because they have a lot of options. I had some of my son's bacon and it was cooked perfect and crispy so order some of that! I liked the pancakes. Nothing special, but good enough to eat! Very nice staff and clean! read more

Yummy! I believe my breakfast was called the Elizabeth Taylor skillet. There are potatoes and over medium eggs, onions and green peppers, and cheese along with hollandaise sauce. It was a big Skillet and tasted delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. I opted for pancakes instead of toast which is unusual for me but I was on vacation and had a craving. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious! Nothing wrong with the service. No complaints whatsoever. Reasonably priced. If passing through Stevens Point again, would love to stop and have another breakfast. Our waitress only took our order and gave us the bill but the possible owner (an older woman) and her daughter refilled our coffee many times and asked how our meal was so we still left a good tip because everything we needed was brought to us. Fantastic!! Very traditional American breakfast, but also some Mexican dishes. It was pretty busy at 10 am on a Saturday, but we were lucky enough to get a table right away. Service was prompt, food came out in 20 mins or less (super fast!!) and it was the best country gravy I've ever had! American fries were perfectly done & not greasy. 10/10 would recommend!! read more
