I really regret hiring Mountain Beauties for my wedding. They are unprofessional and, in my…read moreopinion, scammers. After paying the bulk of my wedding expenses upfront, they completely ghosted me. Firstly, they were deceptive regarding the (very expensive) hair and makeup trial I booked. I was told I would receive three looks in three hours, but at the appointment they only gave me two looks in two hours for the same price. I was too confused in the moment to ask about this and gave them the benefit of the doubt that I made a mistake, and I even tipped them their requested amount despite not getting the services I was promised because I was worried they could retaliate on my wedding day. After the appointment, when they had already gotten the bulk of the wedding expenses from me, they completely ghosted me. They did not send me the pictures from my trial or the information about the specific makeup products they said I needed to provide on the wedding day. This prevented me from making necessary preparations for my big day regarding the specific hair cut I needed for my look, tattoo covering material, and colour matching my lipstick. Their treatment of me was needlessly cruel, and it caused me a lot of stress and disappointment leading up to my wedding. Since they are ignoring all of my emails, I can't even assume that they are going to show up because they won't confirm and I'm not willing to take a chance. Using Mountain Beauties left me feeling taken advantage of, as their contract made clear there was no recourse if they decided not to show up on the day of my wedding. I just never thought they would do that, but I guess because they asked for so much money upfront, actually doing my wedding didn't really matter to them. I am now having to make alternative arrangements for my wedding and I won't get the nearly $1000 dollars back that I already gave Mountain Beauties. Don't book with Mountain Beauties if you actually care about receiving the services you pay for.

Leading up to the wedding and as we got closer, the responses were quick and timely. I never worried once about MB not showing up or being unresponsive. Nikishia did my make-up and it was outstanding! I don't wear a ton of make-up and she gave me a look that made me feel flawless while not making me feel like I had pounds of make-up on. She even took a South Asian Make-Up course before the wedding to perfect my make-up look for the weekend and it came out better than the trial! An added plus - makeup lasted all day. If you want any make-up artist in Canmore - Niki is it! Joanne, who owns the company was a true blessing! Not only was she flexible with her schedule, open to changes with the number of girls to take care of, and timely in responses - she was a life savor for all of my wardrobe changes! She went above & beyond for a hair stylist and stayed until I felt the most comfortable in all of my outfits. Without her I would have been a mess! They called me 15 minutes before my appointment asking if I can push it back 20-30 minutes, I informed them I had to work directly after and wasn't sure if I was going to have time, when I arrived the esthetician was still late for an appointment that, so I beat her there, and had to wait for her to set up, we didn't start until 1042, pretty unacceptable. This was the response I got. " Im wondering if with all your experience, you've not had a dry pedicure? There are a few places in calgary that do dry services which is where I based my services from. Also, my requests were not crazy complicated by any standard. Robyn and the hairstylist had not looked at what I wanted. Robyn didn't even bring the right colours for makeup and was trying to "combine" colors to make it look how I wanted. In the end, I was like, I could have done my makeup better. It was very BASIC, and I ended up adding to it myself, as she couldn't get what I was saying/ showing her. But the worst part was that she was bad energy! I was surprised by how unfriendly she was on my special day.... Like she was 'put out' to be there, spent her time talking 'over me' about herself (as I am sitting between them) to her hairstylist- as if I was not there, and like she was bored with her job, and like my day/I did not matter. Not a thoughtful vibe....
