I really do love these old railway stations, which is the really cool thing about Victoria because…read morethey are still being used, and you can catch the trains out here, even if it is just to check out the railway station. Mind you, the train stops at the edge of the town, so there is probably a ten to fifteen minute walk into the centre, which isn't all that bad, and there is some pretty decent scenery along the way. The station is also staffed, which is also pretty cool, though on the weekends trains really only stop here on an hourly basis. It takes about an hour to get into Melbourne, if the train stops at all of the stations, so it is reasonably quick, and there is a fair amount of carparking as well. Oh, on the weekdays they also have a food van parked out the front.

Okay, the great thing about this station is that it happens to have lockers, something that you…read moredon't seem to get all that much off when dealing with many of the stations in Victoria. Then again, it could just be this particular line. This meant that I could leave my bags here and then go for a walk around Echuca while waiting for the bus to arrive. The station is also quite grand. It has a rather lovely atmosphere and charm about it, though unfortunately the trains don't come here as often as I like. Still, as a station it is quite lovely.
