We just moved to Scituate from Miami and was told the only place for a good haircut is Rocco's Barber Shop. In this world of finding it very hard to locate anyone who could do anything right, Rocco's is the exception! Lots of smiles, all wearing masks for safety, all wearing clean uniforms. All nice. My barber was Vick Bell. The youngest of the group, but well trained, and cut my hair for half the price I use to pay in South Beach. I was looking for a barber close to where I work and heard about Rocco's through a co-worker's husband. It's a pretty classic barber shop offering razored hot shaves, strong sense of community, great people, and certainly high priority, great haircuts. Luigi is awesome, he always takes his time buzzing, shaving and fading my hair even when I roll in after work, half an hour before they close. Everyone there puts out quality work and I'd easily recommend them to anyone. Walk-ins and cash only, plenty of parking, and I usually hop on Dunkins wifi while I wait (which isn't typically long). These guys are a class act all the way. My son has Down Syndrome and Autism. Getting a haircut is not easy. Sal was happy to take him. He was patient and calm. Not to mention did a fantastic job. I've got to put in a good word about this place even though I was there just once, yesterday, and it wasn't even for me. (Does this count? And absolutely I'm of no relation to anyone connected with the place. I never knew it was there!) I was accompanying my girlfriend who had procured a hot shave as an unexpected nice gift for her elderly uncle who lives near the lighthouse. The barber couldn't have been more careful and caring with this man, who suffers from mild dementia and really seems to appreciate this "man's thing." What's not to like about a hot towel pressed gingerly across your face? I watched with intrigue as this barber and three others rhythmically executed varied methods to carve out a variety of haircuts from trims to Marine Corps top-patch. Each demonstrated great hands. Many used a straight razor to edge out sideburns and necks. None appeared rushed despite the fact that all wait chairs were filled on this Friday afternoon. Right out of Norman Rockwell in a time-honored tradition, a mother ignored her magazine and watched as one barber hovered over her little boy's hair for 20 minutes snipping here and there. And each well handled the variety of topics that arose in conversation, from the football draft to fishing to weddings. (Do they teach this in Barber School?) If I need a haircut next time I visit Scituate, I'll look forward to Rocco's. read more

While Rocco is fairly out of the game now and Joe is too, Frank is still there cutting hair like he has been for years. Rocco's is a staple in Scituate. You can get a great haircut here and have some great conversation too. There is a Dunkin Donuts nextdoor as well if you want a coffee while you wait. Saturday mornings are BRUTAL though unless you get in very early. read more

Rocco's is a family oriented barber shop. The barbers there are very down to earth and genuinely care about their clients. They open late on Thursdays, which is a huge plus for people who want to go after work but can't make it in time most weekdays. Highly recommended. read more

I treat 5 star reviews with the respect they deserve. This means they are truly rare, only to be used in cases of perfection with no room for improvement. Rocco's is my idea of the ideal barbershop. It starts with the staff, who are as friendly as they are good at cutting hair. Even though they have a robust following, they wait times are mitigated by four barbers working all day. I personally wait for Luigi but it is because we've formed a relationship over time to the point where getting a haircut is like seeing an old friend. Two TV's feature the sports programming of the day while the daily paper is always on hand. But why watch or read when you can catch up with all the regulars that come in? The pricing leaves plenty room to tip and grab an item to go from the Dunkin Donuts connected through a small, indoor hallway. With ample parking in a seaside location, this jewel of Scituate will make you want not just a hair cut, but all of your hairs cut. read more
