A year later, she took our family's pictures for our son's one year birthday (cake smash) as well as for the holiday cards. She has a studio at her home with plenty of snacks while you do your sessions. It's also heated for those chillier winter months. The props she has are amazing and add a lovely style to her photos. She has a natural talent for finding perfect poses and the experience to get great angles. She also does locations other than her studio for photo shoots. For our maternity pictures we were at the beach and for our family pics we went to a hiking trail. She's able to taylor yo meet your needs. We were…read morelucky enough to find him on Yelp for our engagement photos, and in mid-November of 2024 he braved the chill of Palomar Mountain to take spectacular photos of us. Nonstop compliments from friends and family, and received much quicker than anticipated. Once we got into wedding planning, Shaun was the obvious choice for our photography needs. Along with his second shooter Jess (Jessica Christie Photography), he again knocked it out of the park. Couldn't have asked for more perfect photos. On a more personal note, Shaun is the above-and-beyond type of person to take the absolute best shots possible. Like, fixing the boutonniere on my suit himself for the exact right angle, or gently shoo'ing away stinkbugs while helping my wife to re-tie her wedding shoes type of person. His passion and dedication for his craft are inspiring, and I guarantee if you don't love being in photos as a general rule (like myself) he will absolutely put you at ease and make it look like you've been modeling all your life. Basically, we chose to book with Neka Rae in February, right before Covid hit. We booked her for maternity, birth, & fresh 48 photos. We agreed upon $1785 she had kept mentioning how she would do a vision board prior to photos, as if that is what made her standout. (We never got one, even after asking). Due to covid and a planned c section we could no longer do the birth photos. I had asked her multiple times what we were going to do instead, honestly hitting for some sort of refund because almost $2k is A LOT of money. She insisted upon doing maternity, newborn, 3, 6, 9, & 12 month photos. (I now know it's because she had already spent it.) I agreed with hesitation. She was always hard to communicate with and I always got late responses. She showed up to our maternity session late & with her family of 6. I thought it was weird, but whatever. They stayed near their car. The photos turned out great. But, she herself set her own deadline & I had to reach out to her twice asking where the photos were. If she hadn't told me herself how long it would take to get them back, I wouldn't have made it such a big deal. Don't promise something and not stick to it. But the real kicker. We had planned a day for newborn photos, 8 days postpartum/my baby was 8 days old. Prior to this she had gotten robbed apparently which was her excuse for being late on delivering photos. In texts, she said she had a backup camera so not to worry. The day came of the newborn session, here I am, 8 days PP & recovering from a c section & I got all done up. Ate a light lunch. She texted me saying she was running a bit late because she had to pick up her camera in north park. Ok, no worries. Long story short- she was almost THREE hours late. Didn't update me. & somehow ended up in Clairemont Mesa. See texts below. I was so upset becsuse hormones & I had gotten full on ready and we planned our whole day around this. Plus, my newborn was actually awake while we were waiting. I started crying and getting upset because your first baby is only a newborn once I told her to just forget it because at that point my makeup was messed up and I was upset- not how I wanted to remember my baby's first photos. She then began to play victim. I told her it wasn't working out and I just wanted my money back because I didn't want to keep on texting her and her ending up being late or not showing up. Basically she was very unreliable and unprofessional. I threatened legal action. But then, my husband and I decided it wasn't worth the stress on top of being new parents. So we agreed to $100/month becsuse "that's all she could afford." So basically a whole nother year of dealing with her. We got our first payment- late. It's now time for our second payment and she is ghosting us yet again. Basically we are never getting our money back lol. Her only review on Yelp is basically someone going through the same thing. I've met another military wife who agreed to milestone photos and she isn't even delivering on her end- ghosting her and has yet to fulfill the 6 month photos. She also didn't show up for this woman's maternity photos, she had to do them the next day. For the love of everything, DO NOT TRUST THIS WOMAN. Do not book with her. The worst experience of my life. We are out $1785 with only maternity pictures to show for it. Also- never pay in full until you receive your photos Thanks for reading lol. I just do not want anyone to have to go through this.
