I chose Mars Scott due to his excellent reputation, his work on family law in the State of Montana…read moreand his high level of ethics. He got me through a horrid divorce experience that actually went to trial due to my ex husband's attorney. Mars and his staff were always responsive, kind and patient through all the nonsense. We ended up in front of the judge post divorce at least twice as my ex husband wasn't complying with child support or visitation. Mars was with me every step of the way. His calm demeanor and thorough understanding of the issues was invaluable. The judge clearly respected Mr. Scott and had him do the final drafting of the papers. I know I chose well as he always kept in mind what was best for my children and I.

I am confident that I received the best possible representation and the best possible outcome. I know that Mars and his staff cared about me personally - it wasn't just a case to them. It's difficult to get us both together during working hours. When we get there - nobody was there. His office was dark and in the lobby was a receptionist that appeared to be the receptionist for the entire building - she barely even know who this guy was. She just told us to go wait outside his office upstairs. After 20 minutes of waiting we gave up and just left. That was 2 weeks ago and I have yet to receive an email or phone call explaining or apologizing. I haven't bothered calling him because I think I just got a little glimpse as to how concerned he is about my needs. Not sure how well he knows the law. Perhaps if you can work around his schedule and don't mind being stood up occasionally - maybe he can help you out. But one thing I can promise you: he cares very little about your time.

After my husband of 54 years, Bud Carmello passed last December, I had many decisions to make. We…read morehad prepaid for our "Final Wishes" and designated Daly Leach for that care. They were amazing in taking care of Bud and implementing his decisions. They went above and beyond in arranging a military send off at the State Veterans Cemetary in Missoula. And they provided me with a list of things to do and who to contact. I can't thank Bill and Tom at Daly Leach enough. So as I went through the list, it became obvious that I needed some professional help in dealing with the change in property ownership, medical power of attorney, and a new will. I chose Scott McLean at Montana Legacy Law on Second St. in Hamilton. In retrospect, it was a very wise and lucky choice. Scott and his assistant, Jessica handled everything perfectly. They took all the stress and anxiety off of my 82year old brain. Their rates are very reasonable, and the first consultation is free. It doesn't cost a thing to find out what your options are no matter what issue you are facing. I would heartily recommend Scott McLean at Montana Legacy Law, LLC to my Bitterroot friends, family, & neighbors if you ever need an attorney. Thanks for reading and thanks for all the love and friendship after Bud's passing.

An older, experienced, honest and ethical attorney in Hamilton updated my Will, including a Trust…read moreand a Deed placed into the Trust. Now that my beneficiaries are older, I no longer need the Trust .. especially since it put all control into the wrong hands. Martha appeared professional, appeared to understand what I needed .. but, even tho she charged more than the Hamilton attorney who had handled all aspects, she produced nothing usable .. a draft copied from the old Will even using the wrong county and adding property that I don't own. The Trust was not corrected, eliminating it to be in the wrong hands. And, after sending the unusable drafts, she advised me to find the notary. I also will have to do all of the legal document changes at the courthouse myself ... revoking the Trust and removing the Deed from it. It was a sloppy and shabby piece of work. I paid her because I don't with to debate with an attorney. I do not recommend her to anyone.
