Great Medical Care, Disorganized Administration…read more I am torn in writing this because the medical care has been mostly good. Kelli is fine....Spencer (PA) and the shot specialists are kind, helpful, and provide great care for my son. However, the administrative side of this practice is incredibly frustrating and disorganized. We have spent two months following a "maintenance schedule" that was explicitly confirmed by the office both in person and over the phone, only to be told two months later that their records were wrong and my son is now three visits behind. This level of miscommunication has effectively wasted two months of progress. Beyond this major error, the office is nearly impossible to reach. Calls are rarely answered, it takes days to get a return call, and portal messages are often met with short or dismissive responses. It is a shame that such a high level of clinical care is overshadowed by such poor office management. If you choose this office, be prepared to meticulously track every date and record yourself, as their internal communication is unreliable.

Proactive right there. She had her assistants do in Office breathing tests. I assisted a friend who has had a chronic cough for years . Dr Rose understood the aggravation and the need to get to the bottom of it. Went over the plan of attack and we left with hope and understanding.

It's hard to find any allergist, let alone a good one, on the Central Coast. Especially in North…read moreCounty! My allergist in Atascadero retired recently, so I decided to come back to Allergy Partners after about 5years. AP-SLO is struggling with some basics, as the reviews indicate, but the quality of the care and medicine being practiced here is modern and top notch. Under Dr Ramos' care, I've become aware that my worsening symptoms in recent years are 100% due to asthma, despite no anaphylaxis and minimal wheezing. I'm getting new, advanced treatment, that my old allergist never mentioned existing. My quality of life is about to be greatly improved, and I thank the AP-SLO team for putting their heart into their work, despite challenges these days with insurers' negotiated rates and prior authorization runarounds, etc. Tara is a godsend, and the PA Spencer is an amazing listener and communicator. We could do much worse, Central Coast!

Everything except for tge doctors has been absolutely awful. We've been going there for over a year…read moreand am constantly frustrated. First of all, it is almost impossible to contact the office. Filling out the form online does nothing, and their phones just ring and ring. I've literally had to call hundreds of times before getting an answer. Secondly, they do not seem to know what they are doing with billing. I worked out a payment plan. After paying close to $100 a month for 8 months, I suddenly have thousands of dollars added on to my account, when I was just a few dollars away from paying off my previous agreement. Finally, the majority of the office staff are not friendly, nor are the people who give the shots gentle. If they hate their jobs, fine, but don't take it out on patients, especially kids. My daughter has been yelled at numerous times after not automatically knowing different waiting systems each time her number of shots have changed. She used to like going there because she knew it would eventually help her, but after being humiliated and shamed repeatedly and feeling like they are stabbing her each week, she hates it and dreads going. I had been saving up to get my shots too, but will not give them any more business until they can treat people better.

The only allergist and immunologist in pretty much the whole county. Works maybe 3 days a week and…read morehas decided he no longer wants to work in the afternoons. Heaven's forbid you need immediate attention. I went to him because I was having many issues with allergies and I kept pushing and pushing because I was not satisfied with some results, and he wouldn't. The girls in the office looked at me like I was over reacting, and I would tell the doctor to test me for things and he would just say "assume that you have it and stay away from it". Not an answer. Supposedly I am pretty much allergic to the world. I just got a big sent to collections for $30.00 that I was not aware of. No courtesy call or anything, and I have insurance so I assumed they would tell me what was not covered either. So thanks for a small town doctor gauging me and still not giving me real answers. Allergies are symptoms, not the actual problem. He would have rather band aided all my problems than find the root of the issue. I went to my primary doctor and showed him everything I had from this office and he said "Stop going there. If I can't treat you for an obvious auto immune disease (which Dr. McLean refused to test me for, and my primary doctor could identify it right away), then I will send you to a specialist in Santa Barbara." So obviously, my primary doctor and cardiologist thought the lack of care was ridiculous. I can recommend a great primary doctor if anyone is looking, but allergist.... not in this county.

Dr McLean is a really good doctor. I have been seeing him for a few years and he has been…read moreinstrumental in helping me control my asthma and allergy symptoms. He keeps up on new technology and information. A couple months ago my asthma symptoms were getting worse. When I tried to increase my dosage of medication it did not help. I saw Dr McLean and discussed by problem. He recognized that my problem was actually silent GERD which is a form of acid reflux. The acid reflux actually exacerbates asthma symptoms. He recommended some diet and lifestyle changes that reduce acid reflux and within 2 or 3 days my symptoms were gone. Most doctors would not take the time to fully discuss the problem and get to the root of the problem. On the bad side, I agree with some other reviewers that it can be challenging to get an appointment or to get the office to communicate with the pharmacy. However, I will accept those issues to see a doctor who will keep me healthy.
