I"ll preface this by saying that I don't get sick very often. Which is why I don't have a personal…read morephysician. Or sure- I go and do the obligatory physical every year with all the corresponding tests, but I've yet to find a doctor that I want to have a long term relationship with. Well- that all changed the other day when I visited Dr. Sachtleben. So what made me change my mind? First of all- his office squeezed me in even though I wasn't a regular patient. Much appreciated given I was sick and needed some help. Secondly- this guy listens. Took the time to hear why I was there all the while typing what I said into his computer so that he could refer back to it. We talked about a wide range of things and what I liked is that he did not offer up the standard doctor lines about things. There is always more than one way to solve an issue and Dr. Sachtleben subscribes to that theory. All in all- not only did he solve my health issue- but he built my trust which is what I ask for in someone who is going to partner with me on my health. He came recommended to me by another doctor that I know and trust and I feel good about recommending him here. Now if I could only learn to pronounce his name properly!!

DISPICABLE! I have been arguing about incorrect billing…read moresince 2022!! I have NO regular bills in my "billing" EXCEPT - I have a $196.00 bill in collections! When I called collections - they have NO INFORMATION/record of me - AT ALL! Called duly billing - FOUR TIMES - one said - she can't access my bills cuz they're being sent to collections. One said, $217.00 is on collections. The Last 2 guys said it's $600+ dollars! I asked for a supvsr. NONE available - call back in a few days. I asked for the original bills - NOT the conglomerate list of charges - but the bills from the Dr.s to see what was covered by insurance etc - they said they DON'T HAVE THOSE!!! *NOTE this is the same group - that the doctors - will not take office visits after 3:30!!!!!! BUT you can go to urgent care for $150+ dollars extra ON YOUR - UNCOVERDED insurance bill! SCAM, liars, cheats, terrible hours, inaccurate and deceptive billing, RARELY is there a true professional anymore! If you choose them - expect all this AND newbie docs - who are the only ones dumb enough to work here! LOOK IT UP! The good doctors are all leaving!!!

The Duly billing department has been extremely difficult to work with. I called a week ago and…read moreexplained that my insurance had already processed the payment and that Duly should receive it within the month. The billing representative refused to listen and continued to threaten to send my account to collections. A patient should not be asked to pay the full balance while Medicare and secondary insurance are also being billed. Doing so raises serious concerns about potential medical billing fraud. The billing department seems to have little understanding of how insurance works, and they refuse to contact the insurance company to verify information. Ever since the switch to Duly, the experience has been terrible. I will be reporting this situation to Medicare so it can be reviewed appropriately.

We have seen her once a year or twice a year for three years for my two son's various flu and other injuries. We are so grateful she is there. Please don't leave, Dr Kelly! If every provider were like her, our medical field would be serving all patients SO well. Here's why: She always thinks of everything without me even asking, from meds, to at home things to do, to a school note, without hesitation. She always makes a little bit of small talk with my sons, but it's like she really cares. Bonus: The place is clean, the front desk staff is friendly, calm and efficient. They smile and are efficient and great with insurance and I haven't ever received a crazy bill from them ever. The wait time has never exceeded 15 minutes. We are out within 45 min including payment and lab tests. I am not getting paid by them to say all this stuff LOL haha! I don't know anyone there either....but I just have to call out this example of urgent care DONE RIGHT. Dr Kara's-Hedrick, DNP, please always continue being the best urgent care provider we've seen! I am allergic to several medications, and have numerous adverse reactions. Yet, he decided to prescribe me a new drug, Levaquin. Even though, he knew that the only medication I did not have a reaction to was a Zpack. Levaquin is now known for horrific adverse reactions, and is involved in several class actions. I had a horrific, terrifying reaction to Levaquin. I was transported to the ER. I stopped seeing Brooks regularly and began seeing other doctors. Years later (2021) I went to obtain my records to show a new primary my adverse reaction to this medication. To my surprise, there was no documentation of the adverse reaction, or that I was prescribed this medication at all. I went to see Brooks after the ER visit, that was not in there either. I specifically requested these documents for this adverse reaction. There was another incident in 2018, too. In my desperation for help, I reached out to Brooks (after not seeing him for a very long time). I was getting ready to take the bar (I am a lawyer) and I started having horrific panic attacks. I couldn't step outside my apartment without having a panic attack. I went to Brooks in tears asking if he could help me, and I even asked for a prescription for Xanax to help with the panic attacks. Instead he said he would prescribe me Prozac. He prescribed me either 60mg or 90mg of Prozac (I can't remember which one). When I went to the pharmacy to fill the prescription, the pharmacist asked me how long I was on the medication. I told her this was my first time filling - she told me that my doctor shouldn't have prescribed me this, that he should have started me off at 5mg. She said she'd still fill it. I was desperate and I stupidly trusted the prescription. At that point in time, it was a miracle I was even able to get to a pharmacy without a panic attack. I took the medicine and went off of it within three weeks. It was excruciating. While I think everyone's medical treatment is private, I hope this helps someone and I'm sorry I didn't post sooner. After spending time with my family during the holidays and realizing several were still seeing this doctor/going here, but never heard what I went through, I thought it best to share so people could make informed decisions.

He has been my primary care physician for the past 20 years or so. So yes, I've had him through pediatrics, redolence and now my late 20's. Funny enough when I lost my job, he offered me a temp receptionist position till i got back on my feet. His number one concern is your health NOT your health insurance. He takes the time to listen to you and whatever issues you feel you are having. He also is very candid about what he thinks is the best course of treatment for you. When it comes to billing, if you have no insurance he works on a payment plan with you and he tries his best if he needs to prescribe to you, generics and many times he'll hook you up with samples he receives. His office hours are Mondays 9-5 Tuesdays 2-8 Thursdays 10:00 - 3:30 Fridays 9-3 and Saturday by appt only. His receptionist Jenny is super sweet and he has a part time MA and a part time nurse who happens to be his sweet wife :) My only advice to you is; when you go, take something to do--book, ipod, something. I have to give here exceptional credit for weathering the changes in healthcare let alone those practice changes with the recent market in the Chicagoland area. Dr. Rae is a great service driven physician that listens, assesses, treats and follows up with patients. Although an internist, she has an excellent handle on diabetes and its treatment. Over the years our family's health has thrown several curve balls that she has fielded well. Emergency calls, Late night appointments and collaborative efforts with other physicians are among her exceptional service qualities. If we have ever had any issues, it has been directly traced through the errors of transitioning support staff.
