I received multiple late fees due to the fact that my agent failed to set up autopay on my behalf correctly and only after I experienced complications in applying on-site and by phone. These odd payment issues occurred here and there over the course of a couple of years, and then my agent quit abruptly. Here's where it transitions from past poor service to terrible customer service. I receive a letter saying something to the effect of "your agent has resigned - you'll need to find a new one effective immediately" ​without any assistance whatsoever. No guidance on how to go about finding the next one, not even a call during the transition. They dumped all the responsibility on me and then applied more pressure with bank fees associated with late payments for reasons I still, to this day, don't understand and never received reimbursement for. Obviously, I decided to cancel my insurance. I spoke to multiple people at the company, was passed around the phone tree, and continued to receive mail after I had "closed my account" requesting payment and to find a new agent for my insurance with their company on their behalf. So as you can imagine, I pushed back a few more weeks and finally got out of being involved with Erie Insurance. Turns out I'm saving $20 a month with State Farm and their customer service is great! But, the Erie Insurance drama continues. I received a call from a COLLECTIONS AGENCY the other day saying I owed another month's worth of insurance, plus $40 in LATE FEES to Erie effective immediately. I am genuinely DISGUSTED with this company and the lack of support they've shown their customers. I was told by an​ Erie member after I closed my account that I hadn't owed any outstanding costs associated and am now being threatened to pay, which I did & then insisted on a written copy as proof for obvious reasons...good riddance​ Erie Insurance.
