He Said: 5 Points is the perfect venue. Incredible staff, an amazing selection of music (especially…read morethe dank jam bands), great sound, a bouncy dance floor, and an all around amazing vibe. She Said: He forgot to add that they also have good quality drinks available at reasonable prices. Plus the bar minders are kind and patient and awesome. We go to a LOT of music venues, and the beauty of this aspect of 5 Points cannot be overstated. Potty Points: 4/5 potty points. Do I wish there were more? Yes. Do I have to stand in line sometimes? Also yes. Do I meet some really interesting people in line and appreciate that as well as the cleanliness of the bathrooms once I finally get to use one? Absolutely yes.

Really cool place to see a band play. Gets crowded. Their drink service area could really be better…read moreorganized such as using a line organizer/velvet ropes - no one knows where the line is and you're constantly in someone's way or randomly standing in the middle of the bar line if you're in the back. That part was annoying. Also plan to be squished like sardines when watching a show if you haven't paid for seating. Of course some clutz/drunk guy spilled his drink on my shoes while standing towards the back watching the show. Definitely buy a seat upstairs if you want your personal space and don't want to constantly be in other people's way. General admission style on the ground floor. It also got super hot with crowded capacity of people they allow in. Downstairs bathroom and basement area was nice and cool. Outside the front area for smokers and fresh air. There was also a food truck parked outside the front of you get hungry. The building itself was really cool, old but maintained and remodeled to keep the antique architecture preserved.

Global Partners in Peace and Development is a faith-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization…read moreheadquartered at their Go Center facility in the Bonsack area of Roanoke, Virginia. Established in 2003, the organization focuses on cross-cultural dialogue, international relief, refugee support, humanitarian aid, and global education. Today I visited their Go Center Headquarters from where the organization operates out of since the end of last year after having totally renovated this multi-story, interactive facility designed to educate and mobilize the local community regarding global humanitarian needs. The center features The Global Adventure. A faith-based interactive experience that transforms visitors through global mission cultures. And The Global Blend Café. A mission-driven on-site coffee shop supporting international outreach. The Core Global Initiatives of the Organization is multifaceted. First is their Refugee Support. Assisting refugees in the Middle East and Middle Eastern families resettling in the Roanoke Valley. Second is their Clean Water Program. Installing sustainable water wells in South Asia and Uganda. Third is Women's Empowerment. Teaching Entrepreneurial, leatherwork, and sewing skills through the Nation's Hope Store program. And Fourth is Yourh & Child Welfare. Funding residential care and education for at-risk youth via the "Rev Home" initiative in Haiti. I had an opportunity of meeting and speaking to Kenzie the Café Manager. She told me how at the Go Center their Mission is to ignite a passion to show and share God's love with all nations. She told me the story of the Go Center. How on May 15, 2023 they purchased the run down building which is now the Go Center, and how with a big dream, lots of faith, the dedication of their amazing volunteers and staff, and the grace of God, through hard work and prayer the renovations paid off transforming the center to the beautiful place it is today. How with the help of God and for His glory, they had opened their doors debt free to the public on November 1st of last year with Global Blend Café and Global Adventure. From walking around the center I could see how their labor of love and great faith in God had transformed a run-down building into a beautiful one. A symbol of hope and how God works in mysterious ways through those who show their faith by their actions. At their Global Blend Café, I ordered an American Breakfast with egg, which was a breakfast sandwich made with my choice of a Croissant, Bacon, Egg, and Cheddar Cheese. Honestly, it was the best breakfast sandwich that I have ever had. And to drink I had an Iced Samoa Latte, which contained coconut, caramel, and chocolate. It was amazingly delicious as well. Then they had tables with comfortable chairs both in the outside large porch and in the inside dining area around the Nations' Hope Store with meaningful, artesan-made gifts created through their micro-business training programs, helping families overcome poverty. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place, the quality of their food and coffee, and the beauty of their renovated space. It's amazing how simple, everyday moments, like sharing a cup of coffee, can make a difference in the people of the world by sparking dignity, hope, and lasting impact. Feel free to come visit their Center and Café. Enjoy some quality time with friends having a wonderful breakfast or lunch and in the process contribute to their Mission since all the proceeds go to help their different projects around the world. Volunteer of your time, pray for them, or help them with a donation. Actions speak louder than words. Show your faith through your actions and give them your total support for the wonderful service they are providing to the people who need it the most throughout the world.
