I spoke directly with the owner, and his response was that "people just take them too fast." I was blunt and told him that's clearly a problem for the restaurant to solve--not the cooks' or customers' problem. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the issue or offering an apology, he simply walked away from me. If you're going there specifically for an all-you-can-eat crab leg night, I would recommend going somewhere else. There's nothing wrong with customers eating the product they're paying for, but the restaurant needs to be prepared to keep the buffet stocked.
