Holy cow. I mean, holy cow! This place is great. I have to admit, I was judging this place by the fact that it is a bowling alley. In fact, I didn't want to try it at all. But a storm rolled in and it was next door to our hotel so I reluctantly agreed. Let me tell you, I was very glad that I did. The staff was friendly and very funny. Our burgers were huge and scrumptious (yes, I said scrumptious). The fries were hand-cut and great. Everything was in huge portions. I actually made myself sick because I couldn't stop eating. When we come back to town this is the first stop. Don't be a prude like I was. Go in and experience it for yourself. You'll be glad that you did. By the way, the locals all suggest this place first. They required security deposits to hold the lanes for New Years Day at 2:30pm from 2 different family's and they weren't open. Not only that, but when asked if our deposit could be refunded since they were obviously not open, they refused, saying that they never would have let anyone schedule at 2:30pm since they didn't open until 4. Yet SOMEHOW, more than one family was promised lanes at this exact time and day. Refusal to reimburse a customer for an obvious mistake on your part is stealing. Don't ever go here. They are absolute crooks and the guy basically said to take a hike when trying to reason with him. Worst business man ever and he will never ever get our business again. Update 1/2/22 - Riverview responding saying " This is not the truth. EXCEPT FOR OUR NEW YEARS EVE packages it is first come first serve.. you called and put a deposit down for New Years Eve..you were a no show...we had 52 other reservations without a problem.." My response and I just want to add that this is just bad business. Period. " Riverview Lanes lies. All lies. You had nothing available on New Years Eve. You were all booked up. And looking at both Facebook and google, your hours yesterday you opened at noon. Our Christmas was New Years Day with our mother, not New Years Eve so we didn't want your package for the 31st anyway. Also, a totally different customer booked a birthday party same day with children at the same time slot of 2:30. We both moved our parties to Sandusky and received excellent service. I hope it was worth it to steal from two different unrelated families. Again, you will no longer receive business from me or anyone related to me. And I'll be sure to tell everyone I know about our experience. Have a blessed New Year." Another update from the owner "I do not need to lie..neither me or any of my staff (I asked everyone) booked anything on Jan 1st. I have given others back their deposit because I was able to fill the opening created. I would have gladly refunded yours if you would have notified me you couldn't make it with enough time to fill the opening." My response "Riverview Lanes that's great except we booked on the 1st and showed up so we didn't have notify you at all. Had you notified us that you decided not to open because you only booked two parties and then refunded the deposit, we wouldn't be having this conversation at all. However, I see I will get absolutely nowhere with this conversation. I'm very loyal to businesses and I don't need to lie nor did I need my deposit back. You obviously needed it more than me. It's the principle and the fact that you, as a business owner, can't own up to your mistakes and take the higher ground. We tried reasoning with you but you shoved us off like we were annoyances. Part of being a business owner is good customer service. Hopefully you can be more courteous for future transactions. Good luck to you." Don't waste your time. I've clearly wasted enough. read more

The facility is revolting, the bathroom smelled worse than human decay, the counters are crusty, and there is no ac so summer heat just radiates throughout the building. The owner or at least some old guy at the bar is EGREGIOUSLY rude, the cashier was cool and the shoe guy was awesome - that guy would talk to you while playing and laugh it up with us, honestly he is the place's only good thing going. The balls are all cracked and chipped, the pins fall out of the setter, and generally the game went so slow after constant resetting. read more

By far the worst bowling alley I've ever been too. The bartender/the owner were rude & incorporative with us from start to finish. The bowling lanes were completely confusing & the bartender accused me & my girlfriend of being underage after showing our ID's & cursing out our friends for bowling "too much" after being confused. This place is just ok. Lane 9, the ball return jams up and delays your game. Same for lane 2, but lane 2 takes it a step further baby....it loses power. All in all, not bad but som annoyances for sure. read more

Wouldn't even give this place a full star but that's the only option. Rude staff, would get annoyed at us because we had to ask for help 3 separate times because our balls kept getting stuck in the machine. They made you feel like you were not welcome there especially by the owner who deliberately put down ball stopping guard mid bowl, then stared at us through a window to the back room. On Tuesday 7/30/19 at 10:02pm, my family proceeded to Riverview Lanes in Huron, OH to bowl a couple games on the last day of our vacation.  Prior to going, we checked their hours on Google which were 7am to Midnight.  Upon our arrival, we walked up to the doors to find it locked.  We also checked both side doors which were also locked.  There were two employees seen standing at the bar talking with one another.  We then proceeded back to the Comfort Inn across the street where we were staying, and the receptionist looked at their menu and said on the menu the hours were 7am to 10pm. I then proceeded to their Facebook page which listed their hours as Noon to 11pm.  I took to messenger to message the bowling alley about three different sets of hours and to voice my displeasure in the fact that the hours were different all over the place.  I also noted that they did not have hours posted on any of the three doors. Riverview Lanes responded by saying that their hours were posted in all locations as Noon to 11pm.  If this is the case, they had closed the building a full hour early.  Riverview and I had both said goodnight at that point, and that's where I expected the conversation to end.  About 15 minutes later, I received the following message from them:   "Funny thing...if I were making plans for my family and was not sure what time they closed I'd call and find out...PLUS if I thought a place closed at 11 and I tried to open the door after 10:30...well then I wasn't really planning on doing much... sorry WE ruined all your plans." So again, I respond saying that my party arrived at 10pm on the dot after walking across from the hotel judging off their listed hours on google, and different hours on facebook and even mentioned the two employees seen through the windows chatting at the bar, in detail down to what exactly they were wearing.  This is when they accused us of the following in another message: "How did you walk in n if all doors were shut.. you walked in and was told that I had just sent my cook home..that the menu was limited. I asked to tell me what you wanted and I would let you know if I was able.....you got mad and left ..we were still open and none of the doors were locked...if you post please start by using the truth" Funny thing is, we never entered the building as the doors were all locked, so clearly my party wasn't the only one that had an issue on this night.  We weren't there for the food, we went for a game or two of bowling. On Sunday afternoon 7/28/19, at 2:20pm, we entered the bowling alley because we had heard they had good food from the hotel receptionist only to find that the dining room was locked and closed.  It was fairly loud and we didnt want to be out listening to all the noise while we ate, so we chose to leave and go to harborside.  I am very disappointed that we had not ONE but TWO separate bad experiences with the bowling alley, and then got accused of another parties issue with the place as well.  Please exercise caution when going to Riverview Lanes as apparently these types of encounters are not uncommon here.  We will be taking our buisiness to Cedar Lanes or another nearby bowling alley on all future visits to the area, as should everyone else.  I hope this review helps many avoid a terrible experience on their vacation. read more

Nice little Hometown bowling alley. Food and beverages served throughout the day and evening. Pricing is very affordable they have package deals available in 2 and 1/2 hour increments. Close to the river beautiful view. Parking availability is moderate but lots of parking in the general area. Handicap parking available and handicap accessibility. Staff is extremely friendly and outgoing. You must visit you will enjoy your self. read more

I really enjoy my yearly long golf weekend to Huron in the fall. I have been doing that for over 35 years. In the last few, since Riverview has been under new Management the improvement has been remarkable! I really enjoy breakfast there in the mornings; and munchies and drinks there in the evening. The breakfasts are outstanding and the burgers are great! Prices are very fair. Owners Becky and Ken are great hosts, and their staff is very courteous and efficient. I look forward to going Riverview again next year!!! read more

THIS IS THE WORST AND RUDEST ESTABLISHMENT I'VE EVER BEEN TO. As soon as our group walked in the door, the owner had a huge problem with us for no reason. My boyfriend bought us two drinks, and then the owner had the audacity to run towards us and take my drink away and accused me of being underage. I literally had to chase after him with my ID and he refused to take it and pushed past me, so I had to show someone else. After we had played our first game (we had bought two), we started a new one. Our group began bowling and the lights immediately shut off, so we packed up and began to leave. The owner came up to us, again, accusing us of bowling after the game was over. He then began CUSSING our friend out and threatened to call the police for "vandalizing," although we were paying customers. Once we had left the building, but were on the sidewalk, he then began threatening to call the police AGAIN for "trespassing."I have never met someone who is so rude or arrogant to their costumers. Saturday evening was at the Riverview lanes in Huron. A few friends and I went in there to eat. We heard this bowling alley has good food. There was much to choose from and I went with a hamburger. Others in my group chose other menu items. For a bowling alley atmosphere I wasn't expecting what I got. The hamburger was amazing. I asked for all the fixings and to make it medium. I was very pleased. The thick burger was cooked perfectly. Everyone in the group enjoyed their food. The people working there were friendly and the place was clean. Next time I'm in Huron I will stop in again at the Riverview Lanes. Kudos to them. read more

Took my family there to bowl around the holidays. Wanted to get a lane for the kids and a lane for the adults. The owner wasn't too keen on letting us do that. "Sigh.. depends on how busy we get." He claimed. We told him we would most likely not be there for more than a game or two. He reluctantly agreed. There was literally no one in the alley at this time. It was open bowling. Isn't it first come first serve? Kids had had a good time but we most likely will take our business elsewhere next time we feel like bowling. read more

Bowled here about 2 weeks ago and it was a decent (at best) experience. Although I witnessed the girl who works here yelling at another customer, who promptly left mid-game, I booked a birthday party for my kids. From the time of booking it was a ridiculous experience. Invitations had been sent or I would have cancelled. They treated us like having a party was an inconvenience and costly to them. Although the party info said balloons were included, they were not. They told us when we got there that the helium cost too much. I could go on and on about the treatment we received, but I'll jump to the end of the nightmare. The girl who yelled at the customer weeks prior screamed at one of the kids in our party. When I tried to tell her speaking to people like that was not ok, she yelled at me. Thank God I have restraint. Treating customers the way this place does is not ok. I absolutely will not be back. Shame. Could have been a regular Saturday afternoon place for us. read more

Just spent the afternoon here for my daughter's 6th birthday. Ever part of the experience was wonderful. They had everything set up for her birthday with my daughter's theme of unicorns. They were attentive to our needs and helpful every step of the way. I know there was an old review saying it was a terrible experience, but ours couldn't have been better. We will now go more often due to this party. The new management is wonderful and caring. Pizza was good. Drinks were cold. Cake was delicious. Best of all, it was very affordable.
