Nate and I stopped in to this bowling alley while staying at the hotel next door recently. It was…read morepretty late so I figured we would just pay for one game and leave, however the employee working convinced us to get an hour of bowling and he threw in a free pair of socks for me since I was wearing sandals. I honestly thought I might fall asleep at the table, but we had a blast. We really got our money's worth and got three full games in during the hour! Nate got a turkey and I got at least one strike! We hadn't been bowling in ages but we both remembered how much we love it. We didn't have any issues with the lane malfunctioning and the drinks were cheap. I'm so glad we ended up at Cedar Lanes. Shoutout to the employees working that night because they were great. It was pretty empty in there but we had so much fun.

Yeah, he apparently picked up the phone, finished his conversation with the female worker, & then got around to greeting me. I tried asking about bowling. He hung up on me. He may have not been able to hear me but he never said so plus I had just completed a call with someone else standing in the exact same spot. But a phone call was enough for me to know it was a place to be avoided . PS Before posting this, I actually tried calling back just to be fair. But same result. This time I only got out "Do you have open bowling?" before being hung up on by a different guy. Third times the charm, right? Third call was answered by "Holiday Inn". The previous menu said press 4 for bowling. But I got sent to Holiday Inn. The 3rd operator was at least friendly. She said she couldn't hear me. But had to give me another number to call her back at. So I think they know their phone system is bad. Which makes it even more weird that the two male operators just hung up on me. I immediately called my wife to confirm that it wasn't my phone; and it wasn't.

We don't get to spend for fun often so I surprised my 13 and 14 year old with a couple of days at…read moreKalahari. They were super excited but you can only ride so many water slides for so long so we were thankful to be able to take a break in the Big Game Room. Keep in mind this is designed for kids so some of the things are cheesy but it's for fun. Since I was splurging I got the Safari Family package which included tokens, tickets, escape rooms and activities. The game room is full of various types of games from little kid games, to VR games, to ticket games. My daughter and I really enjoyed the VR pods while my son went for the ticket games. We were there during the day on a weekday so it wasn't crowded at all. The first activity we did was the mirror maze and it's not huge but they enjoyed it as part of the whole experience. We also did the 7D Theater and that was probably the most favorite activity. You strap into moving chairs and go on a ride to shoot zombies etc. next we headed over to laser tag and shot each other bunch. The same lady got us set up for each activity and was very nice. Finally we headed over to the Escape room which was very basic and small but was very fun. We were able to escape but used a lot of hints.

Each game takes a minimum of 6 credits with most averaging 8-10. Each credit is equivalent to .25,…read moreso most games costing $2-$2.50 is absurd. The claw machines were rigged to only grab effectively 1 out of 20 times, and the claw machines all had different sized prizes but all cost 8 credits! Why is it costing me the same amount of credits to win a tiny plastic toy or a giant Pokémon? Makes no sense. I hate arcades these days, they're all money grabs with impossible games and crap prizes.
