The park is pretty much as I remembered. There's a huge lawn area for the kids to run around on. They also do soccer lessons for little kids on the weekend. There are several large, well-maintained bathrooms, which even have paper towels! There's drinking fountains in that same area. There are two kids play structures. One is larger, perhaps for older kids, and a smaller one with swings close by. Our granddaughter loved to go down the slide. There's also a sandpit nearby where kids play in the sand. There are quite a few tables and benches, and even BBQs. You can also reserve an area for a special party. The park has a large parking area, so I don't think you'll have trouble with parking. There's also free parking on the street close by. The same area has the famous Shannon Community Center, where they have all kinds of kids camps and classes. So overall, a pleasant park, with lots of options for young kids to play. The day that I visited, the water splash area was turned off. Perhaps it goes back on in the summer? Some of the buildings are showing their wear, but Shannon Park is still a great asset to Dublin.

Disappointing. Walnut Creek Recreation broke the CA "Honest…read morePricing Law" (SB478). Walnut Creek Rec sends out a catalogue every year for the camps they offer. There is pricing in these catalogues- just like the catalogues you receive for clothes or Costco or whatever you get- they list a price, the store needs to honor it. We get the catalogue, we have a budget, the kids are excited to pick their camps within that budget. I register the kids for camps. Usually there's no issue. But this year the price on the website for one of the camps was more than what was advertised. Walnut Creek Rec thinks it's OK to increase the price and write in the camp description that "the price is different in the catalogue". I registered my kids because I thought the "Community" Center would honor their original pricing, but no. The option I was told was, "We can unenroll your child if you don't like the new price." Even after I told them this was "bait and switch", this was still their only option offered. This is an audacious and patronizing response and doesn't hold anyone accountable. The difference is $16 or $17 dollars, so it's not like they messed up 1 number when typing out the catalogue. An employee from Walnut Creek Recreation signed off on the printing of this catalogue with specific prices. The lady I spoke with and her staff member claimed this was a printing error. This was not a printing error- at no point did the printer mess up. This is their error and someone needs to hold them accountable. The lady who called me confused "accountability" with "acknowledgment". If you're reading this- look it up. You claimed you were being "accountable" when the words "the price changed" were included in the camp description on the website. "Acknowledgment" (with no corrective action) means you know you messed up, you admit it, and you do nothing about it- like this situation. You shouldn't be in a job that has a direct impact on other people because you do not value the community you work for. "Accountability" means you understand you messed up and you do what you can to make the situation better. The person who does this knows and values the impact they have on their community.. they also value their community. This review is for the staff and the lack of respect they have for the law and their community, and the lack of understanding how their actions can negatively impact their community.

Homes in the area are pretty big, neighbors are nice, area is relatively safe/quiet, and there's a park/bay trail nearby for recreation and relaxation. I also appreciate the diversity in the neighborhood- you'll find almost every race in this community. I love the heart of the neighborhood, which is a staircase that leads to a beautiful walkway to a garden of roses, Japanese maples, pine trees, noble firs, etc. that leads to a white pergola. It's a great place to exercise, stroll through to take pics, sit and enjoy nature, walk dogs, etc. A few cons are the railroad track is by the bay but the occasional noise doesn't affect me, it's close to an oil refinery, and there's an HOA that you have to officially ask permission to add major changes to the visible areas of your home. Lastly, home values in this area have considerably spiked, which sucks for homebuyers but current owners are loving it!

My two favorite spots to frequent at the Hive are Drake's and Humphrey Slocombe. Beer, pizza, and ice cream... how about that mix? I've also attended a few events at the Impact Hub and I really admire that space as well. Would love to visit the other businesses that also occupy the space in the future. There is a cute coffee shop, ice cream shop, open seating, chess and checkers, sun covered patio tables, beautiful tucked away courtyard restaurants framed in vines and with open tables like a modern day outdoor assembly hall. It is in the center of a few businesses, co-working spaces and residential apartments. Things here are lively and lots of fun. They frequently have events going on and I wish I was in town longer to attend. I met cool people here as I sipped on a fantastic coffee in the sun and played chess with a stranger. I specifically visited Humphry Slocombe here for delicious creamy ice cream. My coffee was from Red Bay Coffee - the cute walk up coffee shop you see near the entrance. I was really impressed by Red Bay! Crazy nice customer service, the coffee is fair trade. Okay but really though - the UNREAL, OUT OF THIS WORLD thing to get from Red Bay is the CHARCOAL VANILLA LATTE. I normally get plain ol' drip but I'm really happy I tried this latte. Honestly, it was originally a do-it-for-the-gram order but thank ig because I wish I could order this Latte back at home. It's creamy and rich but not too sweet, just a little. Really blew my mind. It is my understanding during my brief visit that Red Bay has bigger, brewery sized locations! So, also hoping to check those out the next time I'm in the area. Please do yourself a favor and visit Hive, meet some cool new friends, and enjoy yourself a Charcoal Vanilla Latte. Bonus points if you get it with oat milk.

Teacher Kathy and Teacher Lisa are the Monday, Wednesday and Friday instructors who are caring mentors that guide children thru preschool. This requires a waiting list perhaps, but definitely worth the wait. Field trips include the Police Station, a visit from the Fire Department and hands-on wonderful science experiences some of which include planting as well as watching the metamorphosis of butterflies. As a grandma, I was aware of the joy and excitement my grandson would exude the day of school. Thank you to Kathy and Lisa for making our community experience so memorable. Enter the Danville Community Center, where a close friend hosted a party for her mother's 90th. This is not the sort of space where food or drink is provided. If you want that you'll arrange for it separately, just as my friend did. She also self-managed a slide show, music, and a couple of group dances. The whole affair was perfect and the spacious, high-ceilinged room (with free on-site parking) was nicer than possibly any community center I've ever been to. While I'd not suggest the Danville Community Center to those who don't live in the East Bay if you do, and you're seeking an event venue, it is quite worth checking it out. Perhaps it might even inspire you to host an event.
