Loved the location right across Hagley Park, convenient to many places, and they provide free parking. Even though this hotel is a bit pricier than other places I searched, it is well worth it. Many places aren't as nice, not conveniently located, and overnight parking will cost you $$, which you factor into the cost, it's actually the same price. Once we stepped into the lobby, you can feel a certain level of comfortness, elegance, and sophistication. This hotel is not modern, but doesn't feel outdated. There's a distinctive quality. We were warmly greeted by the concierge/front desk person. He was very friendly, helpful, informative, hospitable, and made us feel very welcomed. Our room was a decent size with a lot of natural light coming in. With the park across, you have excellent privacy. One of the perks was the heated bathroom floors! They also FREE guest laundry. That was another reason why I chose this hotel because it was our last stop, and we could do laundry before heading home. One of the housekeepers was really nice and kind. The staff overall were friendly. It's the small details and kind gestures that made our stay memorable, even if it was just for one night. Providing complimentary coffee or tea when we arrived, the extra care and effort when we needed something, and giving us a free teddy (George) bear too! Our room was very clean, modern and had AC!! In the room were the important conveniences to me- a safe, mini fridge, microwave and hair dryer. Our particular room had a nice huge window with a view of one of the many art murals they have around the city. In addition, they even printed out a notification that I guess was sent to the hotel Informing us of our one way excursion to Queenstown with our pick up time for the next am at our hotel and other specifics which was slid under our door in a nice envelope. I would highly recommend this hotel due for all the above reasons. Their breakfast is fairly good and decent- ranging from cold/hot cereals , fruits to meats/veggies.
