Day 5 of my Aussie Road Trippin' adventure had me visit Rockhampton, or "Rocky" as it is better known, during the 2009 Beef Week. After lucking out with other accommodation options, I stumbled upon Riverside Tourist Park, and was pleasantly surprised.
Boasting clean facilities in a tidy surrounds, this caravan park is perfect for the budget concious traveller. The grounds front onto the mighty Fitzroy River, with views of the city and some brilliant sunsets over the water. Plenty of shady trees and some local animal life make this a relaxing spot which is located away from the city bustle.
A pleasant stay and accommodating hosts made me feel right at home. I would definitely stay again when passing through Rocky. read more
