I've never been avoided by anyone in my life more than this guy. Matter of fact, it wasn't until I…read moreswitched to Geico that I learned he was a man. I always assumed he was a woman. I had Allstate since I was on my parent's policy and Mr. Phil was our agent. When I purchased my first car, I got my own policy. Mr. Phil retired and this guy became my agent. As I was driving down the road, another vehicle had something fly out of thier car and I ran over it. It tore up both the front and rear bumpers on my car and probably stuff underneath. I called my agent and spoke with a woman (assuming it was mr kelly) who told me I was at fault because I should've been driving defensively and in order to file a claim I have to bring my car 45 miles to the nearest building that an adjuster works out of. Even after explaining to her the bumpers are flapping around and I probably shouldn't drive it like that. So I taped them up best I could and drove 30mph to Houma from Des Allemands. The guy there was nice, however, he never looked to see if there was any damage under the car. So I bring my car to a body shop, only to recieve a call three days later from a woman (again I assume I'm talking to my agent Kelly) who tells me because the shop I chose can not get after market parts, I have to pay an additional $800 with my $500 deductible. After speaking with 3 people at Allstate by phone, I finally was told they would cover the cost of the parts and I'm only responsible for my deductible, but that took 4 days. I get my car back after a 13 days, when the body shop said if it wasn't for the issues with the insurance, i would've had it in 3. This fiasco made me insurance shop. Every other insurance company quoted me $1000 LESS on a 6 month policy. So I try contacting my agent over a week, probably 9 or 10 times to speak with him about why my policy is so expensive. Never was available, never called back. I called Allstate's 800# and was told I need to speak with my agent. So the next day I switched to Geico. And Geico said concerning my ONCE EVER claim, if I were with them, they wouldn't have claimed my accident as an "at fault" claim because it wasn't. Geico said it should have been an unavoidable road Hazzard claim which changes the way insurance companies view you as a driver. The day I went to his office to sign my policy cancelation papers, he conviently wasn't available. Go figure. I would not have given this guy one star but I had to give him something to leave a review. Please don't choose him if you choose Allstate.
