I'm extremely disappointed with this apartment complex, honestly, they don't even deserve one star…read more The lack of communication and customer service here is astonishing. It's nearly impossible to get a response from anyone, and when you do, it's unhelpful or delayed. The only consistent communication you'll receive is about payments, and even that is fully automated. What's frustrating is that even residents who pay their rent on time (or early) still receive the same generic payment notices that are clearly meant for those who haven't paid. Instead of addressing issues directly with the appropriate tenants, management seems too disorganized or unwilling to communicate properly. It really feels like the priority here is just collecting money, not actually managing or supporting the people who live here. If you're looking for a place where accountability, professionalism, and resident care matter, this is not it. Honestly, if you want a place where people can get away with not paying rent and still receive the same treatment as responsible tenants, this might be the place for you, but that says a lot about how poorly it's run.

Parking in visitor spaces here can cost you up to $500 even if you follow the posted instructions…read more The QR code and website often don't work, leaving no way to register. Fees rise $20 each time you call while the car remains, and cash is $40 cheaper than card. But you cannot do half cash half card. If you're not at your car when the boot company arrives, they may leave and charge again. Best tip: Park on the street any way you want,or on the grass, blocking trash. just not in a parking space. you can also leave your 18-wheeler trucked parked for days and weeks as long as it's not in a parking space. It's safer and could save you $500. It's frustrating that management is so strict about visitor parking while other issues remain: - The pool has been closed most of the summer. - Pest control activity is visible outside apartments, yet overall cleanliness is lacking except in show units and the leasing office. (just to trap you in) - Cars have been broken into and lighting is poor, - unsafe to pull into traffic. coming in or out of Rhyne rd. - Balconies aren't built into any building. These concerns deserve more attention than punishing visitors who are simply trying to park. Please address these problems instead of profiting from false parking violations. I have proof of my car still booted in victors for everyone to see and heed warning. Stay safe from frauds

On the surface, the Alta Grove Apartment Homes appear to be a peaceful and pleasant place to live:…read moreconvenient location, manicured grounds, roomy apartments with plenty of closet and storage space. Looks, however, can be very deceiving. What I experienced as a resident was cheap and barely serviceable appliances, groaning water pipes, grimy breezeways, filthy landings, poorly maintained common areas and noise. Noise was a big problem, and not just the frequent and loud entertaining of guests by a neighbor. Common everyday sounds (people talking, cleaning appliances, traffic, etc.) that are normally not a disturbance if living in a dwelling of quality construction thoroughly penetrate the thin walls and floors of Alta Grove. Not surprisingly, the lease includes several indemnity provisions, one of which specifically addresses "everyday" sounds and all of which serve the purpose of relieving the landlord from any liability should the lessee's right to quiet enjoyment be violated. While I agree that the inherent nature of multifamily living precludes the expectation of a completely noise free environment, a tenant should not have to endure nightly sleep disturbance from the incessive and ongoing droning of a neighbor's bathroom fan, for example. In fairness, the office did respond quickly to unreasonable noise complaints but, I found, was not willing to do anything substantial to resolve them; and, protected by the lease, they didn't really have to. A maintenance technician's resolution to a loud refrigerator motor complaint was to inform me "They're all loud." I knew then I'd have to learn to live with the disturbances until I could change my living situation. Aside from noise, I found management's failure to implement simple community standards another disappointment. It is quite common for some residents to routinely speed through the property, ride through with car stereos blasting at all hours, fail to clean up after their pets, abuse the limited parking, throw trash from their decks - the list goes on. While each separately may be just a minor annoyance, collectively they have a decidedly negative impact of the quality of living at Alta Grove. My lease was ending just as a string of car break-ins on the property began.

Additionally, the proximity to Harris Teeter, one of the best supermarkets, Rite Aid, Asian cuisine , and I-485 make it a great location. The grounds are very well maintained and, for the most part, it's a very quiet community. We've met more new friends in the past year than we have in the years we owned our house. Highly recommend you check them out before renting elsewhere.
