Lunch Fajitas Beef

Ordered off Uber eats and cheese enchiladas description says served with queso or gravy and I couldn't choose an option but it just came as a tortilla with uncooked center cheese drenched in their plasticky queso. Even the salsa was bad. Fajitas were OK but kind of bland and nothing special. The appetizer queso was the same that came on the cheese enchilada and was not good and was not a good price for that small serving.

Pork pupusas, fried yuka, plantains and horchata Check came to a total of $25

I LOVE this little hole in the wall! Food feels homey and authentic. The serving sizes are very generous, I was full after just 2 pupusas. The service was great and did not rush us after we were done eating (wanted to stay to watch the rockets). I highly recommend this place to anyone craving something good and affordable to eat.

Parradilla combination, and Ranchero Beans perfect, beer was cold, prices low. but the best was homemade tortillas

Fantastic place. Fantastic service. Food was delicious, perfectly cooked, large portions, all three meats were great, but the homemade tortillas were the best part

Papusas and wings! Delish!

Absolutely LOVE little hole in the wall places like this. Was going next door to Nobi and noticed they had papusas which I love! The bean was amaaazing! Enjoyed the cheese and meat one too. Their wings are actually DELICIOUS. Perfect fry ans spice level, dont even need sauce. We ordered take out and it was about a 15 min wait but worth it. I also loved the salsa and salad relish topping they included. Very reasonably priced as well. Hope they stay in this location a long time!

The best Sal-Mex food in the area, no doubt! I've tried almost half the menu and everything is amazing. Stop by and give them a try. They won't disappoint!

We ate here several years ago. I don't know why we haven't been back. Sal stands for El Salvador or Salvadorian. One problem is the server, though pleasant and accommodating when available, is often in the kitchen or behind a barrier and cannot see customers when they need something. After waiting (aren't waiters supposed to be the ones who wait?) too long for the check, we had to get up and chase him down. The chips & salsa were good. I had the Carne Guisada which was quite good. She had tacos El Carbon, but the beef fajita meat was tough. That would have averaged 3 1/2 which I'm rounding up to 4 stars. The chips & salsa were good. I would definitely come back. Next time I was to try their pupusas. But we'll have to see if she's willing. __ We've eaten out every meal for 30 years

My girlfriend is a pupusa fanatic (she's half el salvadorian)- read some great reviews on the food here and decided to give it a shot. First- this isn't a romantic spot or a place for large parties- it's in a strip mall nestled between a pawn shop and Nobi public house. The restaurant is dated, but clean. Looks like a 2 man show- the server was also the food runner, busman and everything in between. That said, this guy busted his tail and provided awesome service. We started with an order of fried yuca followed by plato mixto and Plato trio. Yuca- Man this stuff is like gold. Cooked perfectly and served with cabbage and tomato sauce. Pupusa- we both had de revuelta pupusas- the cook knows his stuff. Loved it! Definitely coming back to this spot/ great service and great food to back it up!

Wow! Little place in shopping center on Southeast side of street. Jicama was perfecto! Fresh, generous serving. Papusa homemade, fresh breading pork, small spread of beans. The sauces slaw, authentically made. Little spice with a bite, enhances the food. Great service, attentive and prompt. Doing a remodel, so this place needs you! You gotta go to Houston to get this amazing Salvadorian delight.... or you can save stress and come here! Beer is cold!

The pupusas here are amazing and just have the right amount of cheese and masa. The only cheese and revueltas are both great.

My wife and I each got two, and I would have ordered more if my wallet wasn't screaming, "No more, please!" I'll definitely be coming back just for pupusas to go. Those things might be my new food obsession. The plates we got were okay but nothing amazing. My wife got three loaded chicken tacos, and I had the fried chicken with plantains. The chicken was a bit dry, but the plantains were really good. The waitress was super nice and explained some of the menu since it's mostly in Spanish. Without her, we would have been totally lost. Also, the menu is huge, so we took a while to decide. The place itself is small and crowded with tiny tables, but that is exactly the kind of vibe you get at an authentic Salvadoran restaurant. The chef (and owner?) checked on us a couple of times, and you could tell he really cared about us liking the place. That kind of attention is rare. It's a bit pricey, especially for lunch. So like I said earlier, your best bet is to get a bunch of pupusas at $3.49 each. Honestly, three or four of those would have been filling enough and cheaper than the big plates. Bottom line: Pupusas are the real stars here!

They are both really good, the red has no heat at all but plenty of taste. The green has just enough heat to be be enjoyed by anyone. It is a gotta stop in or thru and give them a try kinda place. I was a thick corn tortilla that had stuffing inside such as cheese and pollo or chorizo. That was topped off with a spicy lettuce salad. I also got their quesadilla el pastor. It was pretty yummy. The pastor was rich in flavor and covered with cheese. The cheese pull on this was amazing. In addition, I also got their horchata. This was a little different as it was more milk with less cinnamon which is what I prefer a lot of the times I feel like it is over powered with cinnamon. Their service was spectacular. I went with a big group of 7 and although there was another big party that was there before us. They help us arrange the tables and served us quickly.

Why 4 stars? Because the pupusas were exactly what I was hoping for…read more --- --- --- I had only tried pupusas once, and barely even remembered the experience. But once I discovered this restaurant on Yelp, I knew I wanted to try it. It was hard to find the time because the hours listed on Yelp said it was only open on weekends, but it turns out, they recently changed their hours and are now open Wednesday-Sunday. Out of everything I ate, the pupusas were, by far, the best. All of them were great: the steak, chicken and pork. We also ordered the carne asada, which is listed as #6 on the menu. It was basically a skirt steak with rice, beans and a salad. The steak was okay -- a little tough and too done, but overall it hit the spot. The salad had no dressing to my knowledge, which was weird. The rice and beans were fine. Lastly, we finished with some banana bread, which was nice, but definitely not very sweet. I should probably eat more desserts like this that are less sugary, but I'm kind of addict at this point, so I do wish this had a little more of a sweet bite to it. Overall, this was a cool experience and I see why the ratings are so strong.
