The Cole

The Cole

Had a fantastic experience with the staff, Brad and Jerry are amazing! Highly recommend this…read moreapartment for living downtown!!

Pros: The Cole is the only modern style apartment in…read moreColumbus. It's right at the center of downtown and its within walking distance to bars and restaurants. Fitness is not big but it's usually not crowded at all and it has a nice yoga room. Building is very new so you can feel it in every way. Most of the time Front desk is very helpful, as well as maintenance. Cons: - noisy: all traffic such as motorcycle, truck, and trains. It's very hard to believe that a high end apartment in downtown is noise isolated so bad. When it's 7/4 the cannon shooting show is right outside and you can feel the whole building is shaking, let alone the loud sound. The rehearsal and performance of the band is so loud like they are doing it in your home (I stay in the corner room). The view is good tho. - trash room: is very far for most of the apartments. It's hard when you have heavy trash bag. Also you can't trash your boxes in the trash room on the same floor as your apartment unless you live on the first floor. This makes it very hard sometimes cuz big boxes can be heavy. Usually in good apartments like what the Cole is trying to be, they take care of their tenants not their tenants take care of everything. Plus their recycle is outside so you actually need to walk out and recycle your trash if you want, which is not convenient at all. - Cheap material: most of the stuff in this building is made of cheap stuff. This building was originally just a parking garage and they built the building based on the garage. I'm not sure about the material of the building but you can see material like cargo containers on most of the walls. Feeling of living inside is in summer it's always hot and hard to keep it cool even tho you have AC on, in winter it's so easy to get cold. Wall material is crappy and you cant hang your curtains with rods because everything has weight will damage the wall and fall off. My shelf in walk in closet fell of cuz I hang all my coats on them. Maintenance repaired it very quick tho.

I toured Quali Run and think the place looks great-would be a really nice community to live in…read more The office staff were helpful and informative and showed me both updated units (which look fantastic) and older models which were clean & smelled fresh but with older cabinets & fixtures. There is a lot of green space around the buildings which makes it feel park like (and a new fun playground set for kids!). Adding to the nice open space feel is the cemetery across the street. This is not something that bothers me at all, but may bother some. While I was in the office, the staff was talking about an older couple that had lived there for over 30 years. That says it all for me!

But the yardwork is below standards, meaning they give it a quick once over with a riding mower. No weed eating around the buildings and no trimming bushes. The places that do look nice with flowers and such are the ones that the tenants have done. Don't count on getting any maintenance service very quickly. I moved in Dec. and knob on my washer was broken, took until catching someone from regional office in the office here to get it fixed. That was after 4 months of turning in repair requests. I have a stopped up bathtub now and turned in a maintenance request over a week ago and have been told they are getting a new maintenance person next week. Meaning it will be 3-4 weeks before my tub will be worked on. Yet your rent is due on the first of every month, with no grace period and a $60 late fee if past the first. So not a very good exchange of rent and repairs. Oh and they say they have a workout room. They do, its just everything in it is broken. Sooo....think twice before looking here for your next home!

The apartment complex itself is safe but the management is horrible. They schedule apartment…read moreinspections every three month, and ask you to cage you pets for three days. They won't give you a specific time that they are coming. Plus, half the time they don't show up. They NEVER return a phone call, and you have to email two to three times to get a response. They are rude and passive-aggressive. The only time they smile is if they are getting you to sign a lease. The will send you a letter saying they are coming to change the blinds, then don't show up. The laundry facility has had dead mice in it. The pool is open some years and not some years. You will never know. If they don't open the pool, they won't let you know until August. If you put in a maintenance request, they will give you reasons that it doesn't need fixed. This could be a nice place to live if it weren't for the inept people who work in the office. They also can't keep maintenance on staff. Every other month they have a sign out front looking for new staff. The management harrasses residents. It's not worth it.

They are only supposed to talk about am I responsible to pay rent, and utilities if I keep my place clean and how long I've been here, (which I have always been responsible) but neither one did. When I talked again to the mgr of Briarwood a second time, she was very rude. This mgr seems to lack basic compassion and understanding. Briarwood mgr told me I had a year to plan my move and that I didn't plan, and that the ball was in my court and I had to make a decision and then told me NOT to call her back. Really the Briarwood mgr didn't know what the situation was or if what the current mgr was telling the truth or not. Just because you are mgr of an apt, doesn't mean you are always honest about everything. They talked about things that were not the Briarwoods Mgr business, but this mgr kept talking to the other mgr about it. I think it's illegal to talk to another mgr that would change his or her mind about if you could move there or not. This is NOT the place to want to move to when they talk about things that they should not be talking about. Neither one was helpful in my trying to move so I ended up not moving for the reason where I currently live that mgr ruined my move and I fear she might do it again. Don't move to this community, they are very rude don't stay in their lane, and they are nosy! The mgr didn't have the complete truth on anything and took the other managers side. Again, something that the Briarwood mgr should have NEVER done. they both broke privacy laws.
