This is a nice, clean park. We had a large, level, grassy site with a good-sized concrete patio. Hookups were good and easily accessible. Strong 50-amp power. One of the nicest things about the park was the people. Everyone was very nice and seemed to go out of their way to make us feel at home. We only stayed for a short time (and in the summer), but I can see that this would be a nice place for a winter/seasonal stay. read more

River Oaks RV Resort - Large, level grassy sites with concrete patios - RV Parks Near Me - Ruskin, Florida

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!! Negatives..... We were greeted by a person that lives in a camper up front that said she backs up the office when they are not available. Super nice lady but again NOBODY in the office during regular working hours is unacceptable. Did not get the spaces we prepaid for. New ownership said reservation was made under old ownership. They are not honoring preselected sites. The 60 cable channels are for the clubhouse only. When we asked about it we were told you have to get your own provider. Wifi ..well lets say it might get you 1 or 2 bars. I was told they have many internet connections throughout the campground and anything that ended with Spectrum 5G is their wifi and was given the password. Yes there are many listed on the wifi scan but when you click on them and put in the password it tells you "You can not connect". People are correct you can SELDOM get anyone to answer the office phone during the day. We went to the office to ask about propane delivery. They lady told us there was nobody that delivers propane. We asked a few more questions like when will the dryers (ALL THE DRYERS -4) be working she said "After we get our propane delivered." In my head I was thinking "Lady you just told me nobody delivers propane!?!?" There is no water pressure most of the time. Good thing I caught it when it was actually working and filled our water tank so we could use the bathroom and brush our teeth. At the time of this writing, there is a complete water outage in the campground. Lasted DAYS!!! Super tight accommodations. BIG RIGS beware. Electrical at pedestals is questionable. Some 30s work and some 50s work. You have to find your own working outlet. Some RVs had to move to a different spot just to find power. During our stay multiple vacationers around us left early out of frustration. No security at all. Anyone can wander in. We ended up moving to a different camp grounds... Yes we lost a week of prepaid vacation and had to pay double for the last week but it would have been worth it at 3 times the price. Positives.... The campground is small. It is quiet (great for relaxing). The campers that are here are really nice. Reasonably priced fees. Going for walks is nice as you have a mixture of sun and shade so you don't bake. read more

Do Not book here!! They canceled my reservation a week before we arrived!! I should of read the reviews. So many people said the same thing. And they won't return my calls or emails. They said site was not available!! I reserved a year ago!! read more

Enjoyed our stay here. Small quiet campground that was central to many attractions. Office staff was nice and helpful.

If you make a reservation and receive a price for your stay, it will not be honored. Our quoted rate was increased during our stay while we were there, yet if you cancel after booking they charge a booking fee and cancellation fee. This was once a great park but new ownership and management has ruined it. It's a small quiet park, nestled among mature oaks on the river. Raising the rate in the middle of a contract is unacceptable. read more

This place is HORRIBLE. If you ignore the reviews, it's your own fault. There is NO management. No one answers calls or emails and there is almost never anyone on site. Their bookkeeping is nonexistent and no one has a clue about anything. A few nice neighbors may help you, but that handful of folks is the only thing good about this park. Stay elsewhere, anywhere but here. Ps. Sewage problems mean constant bad smells. Ugh! read more

Made reservation in July 2022 for Jan 2023. Called and emailed in October after Hurricane Ian and Nicole to verify condition of campground after storms. Get a call on Jan 11 for our Jan 22 arrival that the campground was not available and they were refunding our money! The said they were under new ownership as of December and our "site" was not available. We are already on our trip. Now we have to scramble and try to find a place for our 40 foot class A motorhome in January in FLORIDA! Do not stay at the River Oaks RV Resort. They are unprofessional and could care less that they have caused us this huge inconvenience. read more

Stay away!!! The campground cancelled my upcoming reservation for Jan 2022 and kept 300 dollars.

I been there for 4 years and there has been 3 owners the ones now, Well I just say beaware . Website site says one price for long term put they charge more then what they list . Two months ago I tried 3 times to pay rent their app and it wouldn't take my rent so then the charged me 300. Cause it was late due to their pay site . The. I had to sign a paper saying I pay the 300.00 or they would not expect any rent . So they stold 300. From me . I post my place up for sale and I'm told I had to change the wording cause they didn't like my post im not aloud to just sell it to anyone if they don't like the person then I can't sell. Been a lot of use selling cause how they are. I know ill get in trouble for this message also . Cause when one tells the truth they do stuff to punish that person. I been wanting to leave but I'm not just giving them my home and no one wants to buy cause of them . I probably be told to take this down like my others . There is nothing here to do unless you fish . Plenty of other nice parks read more

Dumpy out dated campground. ..buggy, air boats all hours of the night. ...horrible managers. Bathrooms and showers are gross. At dead end road next to Mexican Mobil home park....poor, beat and noisy. This place is more like last resort then resort. Stayed once would NEVER go back....way to ruin vacation. read more

This is a workers RV park. The management was NEVER around to check us in, give us the WiFi...located in the middle of nowhere. Bathrooms not serviced on a regular basis. Thank goodness we were only passing through. Would not recommend. read more

Clean, quiet, relaxing location in the country, excellent customer service and a variety of community activities. We were a bit apprehensive considering the terrible reviews posted previously and were pleasantly surprised by the great experience we had. The Resort may have been outdated and in need of repairs, but it is now under great care with friendly and helpful staff. We didn't experience any issues with the hook ups We would definitely stay here again! read more

park has been sold new owners have changed things and raised the price way to high for this Park not a resort at all, no management in park after hours, no back up for any utilities for water or sewage so when power goes out you can't get water, cook, or use rest rooms or showers don't fill your water tanks with water from here , no-see-ums are very bad and get really bad when it's late afternoon we could not cook out doors had to go inside THIS IS OUR LAST VISIT HERE stayed here previously three years the management was very aware of all that was going on around the park keeping us and all tenants informed this year new owners made our stay the worst ever will not be back. read more

Dirty, Old , Beaten down. Bad management, SCARY residents, NO pool, Disgusting showers and bathrooms in a building that is falling apart.. BUGGY, LOUD with air boats going by all the time. Really bad place. The worst we have stayed at and we have stayed in over 50 RV Resorts. ( we traveled for 3 years in our 2007 Holiday Rambler Presidential Suite 5th Wheel) Management and owner are poor at best. THIS IS WHERE THE POOR WHITETRASH LIVE AND STAY. Drunks, Smokers and fat men walking around without their shirts.. I mean no disrespect if you like that sort of thing BUT it is not for me or my wife. There is nothing good to say about this place other then how good it feels to leave. Many nicer places to stay nearby with same or better rates and ALOT more to offer......Look at the photo s on the web site - You can tell not many nice RV S stay here and that it is an old park - that leads to many problems such as electric hook ups that do not work and sewer hook ups that actually back up. The park smells like sewage unless it is windy. Plus the river is brackish so everytime the tide is low it smells like a swamp and is full of BUGS!!!!! Mostly No seeums and palmetto bugs. It is also hard to get around in if you have a large RV as the braches are low and the roads are narrow. If you go to the management with any concerns they are not helpful and seem to be bothered . Last but not least this place is out of the way. At the end of a 5 mile road surrounded by falling apart mobil homes that are mostly Mexicans. IF you like Mexican music and barking dogs then all is ok. if you do not like that then prepare yourself...You will see on your drive in that this is the truth. There is a reason this campground has space in January and the other resorts nearby are full - that really says it all. we wasted our money and I just want to help others from the same mistake. Save yourself and your vacation DO NOT STAY HERE....Calling it a Resort is wrong. LAST RESORT IS MORE LIKE IT!!! read more
