Llike many similar shops in Brighton, there are a lot of dresses and tops, often more orientated towards 'going out clothes' than everyday wear. They also seem to have a permanent sale rail, and I often find myself in here just to check its contents. As well as clothes, they do have a fairly limited shoe range, but these always look a little too much on the cheap side for me. I'll stick to the sparkly tops.

Can't say I have much reason to go here, but there's a good range of stock, decent prices and a selection of teen pop playing most days - this shop is probably more for the aged 14 - 18 shoppers.

But although looks a little generic, it does organise itself a little originally, selling products based on either style or type, so if you need a blouse you can hunt one down easily enough, but if you like the new romantics dress sense, then there's some of that here and all. It's probably my age as I used to love the clothes from here, but now nothing takes my fancy. I remember growing up being a particular fan of their funky carrier bags - use one of these for your PE kit and you were part of the cool gang (Ok, really showing my age now!) But like their carrier bags, the clothing has slipped down in my estimation. I rarely find anything I like here and the whole experience usually stresses me out, especially at sale time. Random items of clothing litter the shop and it's so full of hormonal teenagers there is barely room to move (there I go again...!) Anyway, whatever the reason, RI is just not for me these days, I'd rather take my cash somewhere else.

I am a big fan of River Island and it will always be one of my 1st stops when I hit up Churchill Square for a few hours of looking at myself in the mirror in tonnes of new gear. Always a good way to get in a good mood! Bost male and female diverse ranges means that if your being dragged round by the misses all day you can split up and spend a bit of time being interested in whats on the shelves. With the website now offering the whole range you do not even have to leave the house to get a feel for the types of clothes they have to offer. You can also get bits and bobs such as belts and wallets and all the bags and bits of make-up that the ladies want.

I found that when I was pregnant this was a very useful place to buy maternity clothes. Their maternity section is stocked pretty well and I could always seem to find a simple top to go with most things for my fast growing belly. The staff, in my experience have been polite and chatty. Dressing rooms are spacious, lighting good, but there's always a queue on weekends. Beautiful accessories but the clothing can be hit and miss for my style.

They tend to stock more unusual clothes, with skull-patterned dresses, brightly coloured jumpers and unusual t-shirts. I bought one of my favourite t-shirts here, which depicts two giraffes kissing. Aaah. They also seem to have a constant sale rail, which does often include a lot of duff items, but occassional gems can be found here - I bought a couple of lovely £5 dresses here over the summer.

There were some stylish hats - beret style, mostly - and also a selection of homemade cards. So, a bit out of place, but a lovely little shop I'd recommend taking a peek at.

The lady behind the counter was very chatty and helpful. Willow is a good addition to the stuttering George Street.

I still enjoyed looking through all the different patterns, colours and versions of the style, though, whilst wishing for longer legs. Prices were reasonable - £15 - £30 for most things, and accessories branched out from the usual hats, scarves and necklaces to include various other body-part jewellery - nose studs, etc. It reminded me a bit of Sassy's more mainstream selection of clothing and accessories, interestingly. I'm sure they carry of the exact same non-skull themed items.

I realised the error of my ways, not by the cacophony of women's clothing (which is common in highstreet stores who force the men upstairs) nor by the curious stares from customers and staff alike. No... It was when I looked at the gloves, and remembered how much better girl's gloves are than men's. I quickly came up with a mental excuse that my non existant sister was coming to Brighton this afternoon and wanted me to search for hip trendy clothing stores for her to visit... Aside from that, I can confirm that Fashion Temple is a nice independent store that offers a good range of clothing items for women at reasonable prices... Its just a bit weird to pop in if your a bloke... especially one of the less manly ones like me...
