Wow! I have been…read moregetting massage for 20 years. I have a regular masseuse. Every time I go on vacation I like to try a local masseuse. I saw Aluna was the best rated on AMI. I made a reservation for a 90 minute massage and added foot and head treatment. After all of the add ons, it was undoubtedly expensive. I went in and was happy to see an effort is clearly made to keep the atmosphere relaxing. I was taken to a rest area that is admittedly cramped. Amber was on time. I made a reservation for a deep tissue. Admittedly Amber didnt use the most heavy of pressure but it certainly falls under the deep category. She is just so, so amazing. She knows where to go, she knows what combination of technique to use. She was able to release knots that other well trained masseuses have overlooked in so many massage therapy sessions. The head and foot treatment were extra relaxing and created a clarity that I aim for but seldom achieve in a massage. This place is great and I will be undoubtedly back

We have been vacationing on Anna Maria Island for years, and even though it gets more and more…read morecrowded and traffic gets worse and worse, Aluna is always a high spot that we return for. We booked 3 different massage therapists this time, including a facial for our daughter. Dawn, who did the facial, had great vibes, and she talked just enough to make my daughter comfortable, but not so much that she felt any intrusion. Jeff was amazing according to my husband - he managed to get out a knot hubby had been dealing with for months and months. For me, Jen was great, expressive hands and knew just where the "hot spots" were. One of the things I really like is the attitude of the staff and the owner (I think it was the owner.) Everyone is calm, friendly but not too friendly if you know what I mean, and all the therapists seem happy to work here. The ones we see have been here since we started coming, which says a lot for a place. We're more familiar with the massages than the facial or anything else (our first facial, and we haven't tried anything else, honestly), but recommend Aluna without hesitation.

I requested firm pressure as I like my knots to be worked out, but I don't like "deep" as in my Massage hurting. I loved her technique and she has very strong hands, so it was a fabulous combination. I also loved the lotion she used for the massage, moisturizing but not oily and not scented. I am scent sensitive so that means a lot to me, otherwise a migraine may get triggered. It was easy to book an appt, you can do it online, call, or text the number listed. The office was very clean and nicely put together. I especially loved that the "papertowel" roll in the bathroom was made from washcloths/towels that could be washed and reused. Kristy was great to interact with, very thoughtful and we had a nice chat while I was waiting for my ride. She also did a very thorough clean of the massage space after my session, which I appreciated knowing that was done prior to my session as well. I get a lot of massages. Pre-COVID-19 I would say I was averaging a couple a month and I believe Kristy is very talented and if I lived in the area I would be making weekly appointments! I hope I get to come back and have the same experience, in the meantime please go and experience since I will be back home and can't!

And as a personal trainer I can tell that Melissa has an amazing understanding of the body, so I can be sure that I'm getting just what I need. Often I come to her feeling really tense after a long day of working with clients and sitting at my computer and she knows exactly how to make me feel relaxed, calm, and actually nicely enough a bit taller (which is a big deal for a short girl like me!). I've come to her a dozen or more times and have even sent my husband and a few of my clients there. They all come back to me raving at how amazing she was and how great they feel. They now see her regularly too. The best part about all of it though is Melissa herself. She has an amazing working knowledge of the body, can do many different types of massage, and she really gets to know you and understand what you're looking for. I feel so at ease with her and she makes me feel very cared for. You can tell she loves what she does and truly believes in it, because you're never just a number with her. I never feel rushed and she always takes it one step further by giving me a little tip on my way out the door, like a stretch that I can do to alleviate some of the tension I'm feeling in my neck. I am now a massage devotee and will continue to send my clients to her.

When my husband and I look forward to coming to our time share we look forward to our massages with Melissa. Melissa gets it right. The pressure, the room temp, the bed is amazing. She remembered us and our conversations we had a year ago so we feel like we are visiting an old friend. She is so good that she books fast so make sure to make an appointment in advance!! Can't wait for next years massage already!!
